Battlestar Galactica calling it quits! Say it isn’t so!

Who decides when to end a show and when to let it continue? I want to know! I want to see if they are human or some automaton who is incapable of intelligent decision. It seems that every time a show comes on the idiot box that is worth a damn, the “powers to be” cut it off at the knees.

The latest victim of the ax is one of the best shows on the airways in quite a while, “Battlestar Galactica!” I have been watching the new version since it started and I have to tell you that in my opinion it is one of the very best programs to come along in quite some time. Every season it has had awesome ratings. This is especially noteworthy because it is a SciFi show.

The episodes are all well written. The actors and actresses are all excellent. Much like “Star Trek,” Battlestar Galactica does a very noteworthy job of parallelling world events. Where the “Trek” franchise often failed to push the limit and delve deeply into its characters and story line, Galactica always went where “Paramount’s always lacked the vision to go!” It delved into the heart and soul of each character, of each story line. The only other shows that equal Galactica in their quality of acting, plots, and innovation, are the Stargate programs. Both Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis are excellent programs.

With all the success that Galactica has had, why would the network even consider ending the show now? Is there some curse that inflicts itself on all SciFi shows that “do not” lack depth? Are SciFi fans going to have to settle for shallow programs like the latest new ones? Or will we have to settle for more of those brutally violent and gory programs with their “B” rated cast and scripts?

Personally, if it were not for Galactica and Stargate, I wouldn’t even watch SciFi. I began to drift away from SciFi after Babylon5, Crusade, Space Above and Beyond, and all the many other great shows old and new started to disappear. Every weekend there used to be shows of quality to watch. During the week, there were regulars too! Each day gave SciFi fans something of quality to look forward to like the non SciFi networks.

I enjoy the Monday night reruns of Enterprise and the daily Stargate Sg1 reruns on SciFi. I also enjoy the X-Files. But, the only decent shows with new on-going episodes are Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. So tell me why the powers to be are canceling the show after this season! I really do want an answer to this question!!

On a final note, if Ronald D. Moore is all tapped out after four seasons, maybe he ought to go back to Paramount. He has done a great job up until now with Battlestar Galactica. But, if his creative juices “dry up” after four seasons, then he ought to be right at home at Paramount where they bleed the fans with their off screen enterprises

Condemn the Berkeley City Council’s actions and support the Semper Fi Act of 2008

Here is another call for support that I got by email today. It is a “petition” effort by Townhall.com to express outrage to the city council of Berkeley, California, “Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their liberal cohorts that we’ve had enough of their assaults on our troops.” Please go to the link and sign the petition. Show our troops that all Americans do not share the views of Berkeley and their liberal cohorts in America.

Dear Friends,

I am outraged and you should be too.

Our troops are being forced to withdraw not from Iraq but from American cities and American college campuses.

The most recent example is the city council of Berkeley, California telling the United States Marine Corps Recruiters that they are ‘uninvited and unwelcome intruders’ in their city. They were actually trying to kick the U.S. Marines out of their city while giving special preferences to liberal protestors.

Please sign the Townhall.com petition and join me in telling liberal leaders that this treatment of American troops is an outrage.

I guess we shouldn’t be shocked anymore by the Left. They can’t seem to stop themselves from undermining our troops showing there utter complete disrespect for our Armed Services.

They try to hide it but they simply have nothing but contempt for our nation’s military and the brave men and women who serve. Time after time, they show us just how much they distrust, dislike and outright despise our troops.

Senate Majority Leader called our troops failures and proclaimed that the ‘war is lost.’ Never wasting a chance to snatch defeat from the grasp of victory, Senator Reid ruled the surge a failed effort before a single additional soldier’s boots had hit the ground.

On college campuses across the nation, including some of the most prestigious universities, ROTC students face a hostile anti-military environment. Many universities including Columbia, Harvard, Yale, and Standford have out right banned ROTC and force students to travel long distances to neighboring campuses for classes.

Sign our petition today and tell Berkeley, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their liberal cohorts that we’ve had enough of their assaults on our troops.

It doesn’t just show a lack of support for the troops but an passionate contempt for the men and woman overseas putting their lives on the line for our freedom and safety back here at home.

As a further insult to our men and women in uniform, the City Council encouraged residents of Berkeley to impede Marine recruiters attempting to go about their work, and awarded a reserved parking spot outside the Marine recruiting station to Code Pink, the extreme-left anti-war group.

The liberal City Council and Code Pink must not be allowed to disgrace our serving men and women.

It is not enough for liberals to slander courageous Americans as war criminals any more, they are turning hateful words into un-American action! The anti-war left is proving that they do not support the troops and in fact actively engage in anti-military behavior.

We must stand together with our military to prove that the majority of Americans disapprove of the Left’s shameful behavior!

Sign our petition today and tell Berkeley, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their liberal cohorts that we’ve had enough of their assaults on our troops.

Senator Jim DeMint has introduced the Semper Fi Act of 2008 in the United States Senate. The legislation would rescind over $2 million previously allocated to Berkeley. Congressman John Campbell (R-Cali.) has introduced a companion bill in the House.

OPEN LETTER TO TERRORIST

Well, you hit the World Trade Center, but you missed
America. You hit the Pentagon, but you missed
America. You used helpless American bodies, to take
out other American bodies, but like a poor marksman,
you STILL missed America.
Why?
Because of something you guys will never understand.

America isn’t about a building or two, not about
financial centers, not about military centers.
America isn’t about a place, America isn’t even
about a bunch of bodies. America is about an IDEA.
An idea that you can go someplace where you can earn
as much as you can figure out how to, live for the
most part, like you envisioned living, and pursue
happiness.
(No guarantees that you’ll reach it, but you can
sure try!)

Go ahead and whine your terrorist whine, and chant
your terrorist litany
“If you cannot see my point, then feel my pain.”

This concept is alien to Americans.
We live in a country where we don’t have to see your
point. But you’re free to have one. We don’t have
to listen to your speech. But you’re free to say
one. Don’t know where you got the strange idea that
everyone has to agree with you. We don’t agree with
each other in this country, almost as a matter of
pride. We’re a collection of guys that don’t agree,
called States. We united our individual states to
protect ourselves from tyranny in the world.
Another idea, we made up on the spot. You CAN make
it up as you go, when it’s your country.

If you’re free enough.

Yeah, we’re fat, sloppy, easy-going goofs most of
the time. That’s an unfortunate image to project to
the world, but it comes of feeling free and easy
about the world you live in. It’s unfortunate too,
because people start to forget that when you attack
Americans, they tend to fight like a cornered
badger. The first we knew of the War of 1812, was
when England burned Washington D.C. to the ground.
Didn’t turn out like England thought it was going
to, and it’s not going to turn out like you think,
either. Sorry, but you’re not the first bully on
our shores, just the most recent.

No Marquis of Queensbury rules for Americans,
either. We were the FIRST and so far, only country
in the world to use nuclear weapons in anger.

Horrific idea, nowadays? News for you bucko, it was
back then too, but we used it anyway. Only had two
of them in the whole world and we used ’em both.
Grandpa Jones worked on the Manhattan Project. Told
me once, that right up until they threw the switch,
the physicists were still arguing over whether the
Uranium alone would fission, or whether it would
start a fissioning chain reaction that would eat
everything. But they threw the switch anyway,
because we had a War to win. Does that tell you
something about American Resolve?

So who just declared War on us? It would be nice to
point to some real estate, like the good old days.
Unfortunately, we’re probably at war with random
camps, in far-flung places. Who think they’re safe.
Just like the Barbary Pirates did, IIRC. Better
start sleeping with one eye open.

There’s a spirit that tends to take over people who
come to this country, looking for opportunity,
looking for liberty, looking for freedom. Even if
they misuse it. The Marielistas that Castro emptied
out of his prisons, were overjoyed to find out how
much freedom there was. First thing they did when
they hit our shores, was run out and buy guns. The
ones that didn’t end up dead, ended up in prisons.
It was a big pain in the ass then (especially in
south Florida), but you’re only the newest pain in
the ass, not the first.

You guys seem to be incapable of understanding that
we don’t live in America, America lives in US!
American Spirit is what it’s called.
And killing a few thousand of us, or a few million
of us, won’t change it.
Most of the time, it’s a pretty happy-go-lucky kind
of Spirit. Until we’re crossed in a cowardly
manner, then it becomes an entirely different kind
of Spirit.

Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit, this
time.

I don’t want to be “fixed!”

CNN Politics.com reported last month that, Colin Powell may support Democrat or Independent in ‘08. The former Secretary of State, a Republican, is considering supporting Obama for President. No surprises there! Former Generals have been deserting the principles they swore to uphold throughout this war for personal political gain and “power!”

As for Republicans jumping ship, you can bet that there will be many more before it is all over if Bernie Sanders does the job he was elected to do in the Senate. I say let the dice fall. Then when the true colors are finally out in the open, we first get rid of all that “red” dung that managed to successfully carry out their ‘socialist agenda’ of advancing from the top while their minions in “Code Pink” and others advance from the bottom in their effort to successfully carry out their long term goal of taking over America so they can “fix it!”

I don’t want to be fixed! “Fixed” is what I did to my cats and dogs to keep them from making more babies that I couldn’t find a home for.

Colin says:

“I will ultimately vote for the person I believe brings to the American people the kind of vision the American people want to see for the next four years,” he said. “A vision that reaches out to the rest of the world, that starts to restore confidence in America, that starts to restore favorable ratings to America. Frankly, we’ve lost a lot in recent years.”

History will show George Bush as a great leader who defended our nation and others against an Islamic vanguard just waiting for us to declare defeat so they can step up their world conquest. What I think we, as Americans, ought to be asking ourselves is, “Why would anyone pull out troops in a war they were winning before it was all over?”

When we withdrew from Vietnam after the Communist backed “peace?” movement bullied politicians into doing so, the leader of the Northern Army of Vietnam was quoted later as saying he was stunned! He could not have lasted more than a few weeks at most. He was ready to admit defeat and was ready to surrender after the “successful” Tet Offensive! Millions died as a result or our moral and political cowardice.

But, this time there is even more at stake, “our freedom” as we know it. Between the “Progressive” umbrella groups under “Workers World” and the Islamics slowly working toward Islamification in America as it exists in Western Europe, we are in trouble for the first time in the “homeland” since our fight for Independence. If you doubt this, then look at Europe, even England. Things are so bad in Europe that SIOE was formed and has become an international fight to defeat the “Islamic Vanguard” allied with the “Trokskyites” in their bid to end “Democracy!!

Neither Hillary not Obama should be President. Neither will support the Constitution. Both will erode it away at every chance. Hillary with her extreme leftist views she tries so hard to hide right now and Obama with his leftist views and Muslim faith he has hidden so well. If I am not mistaken, did he not refuse to place his hand on the Bible to be sworn in as a Senator. Oh, wait, now he is a Christian! Well, everything is OK then with him! Right??!!

Obama may or may not consider himself a Muslim; but, the Islamics do consider him one who has given up his faith under Islamic law! If they aren’t trying to assassinate him they will be pushing for their governments to not meet with him because of his “failure” to embrace Islam! What is really a frightening thought is the two, Obama and Clinton, running on a “1-2” ticket. God forbid!

Now that McCain has sewn up the Republican race, we have a void. Who should be number two. With McCain’s age, it is even more important that we make a wise choice. That means we don’t want that crook from the Midwest! I don’t care for Romney. Actually, I think the best choice is Rudy! In any case we cannot afford to not chose wisely. Never has it been more important than now. Disagree all you want; but, time will set the record straight, if we have any left!

Military Recruiting Office Bombed in NYC – Quack! Quack! I see a “duck!”

It was only a matter of time before the ANSWER/UFPJ/Code Pink/DSA umbrellas for the Workers World sponsored protest movements across America evolved into anarchy and out right violence. Today at about 3:45 a.m., according to Fox Cable News, an explosion ripped through a Recruiting office in Times Square NYC. Another unexploded device was also found.

One only has to do a little research on Google if they are not old enough to remember the violent activities of the sixties by the Socialist movement that virtually infiltrated every aspect of the Civil Rights and Women’s Movement of that time. On college campuses they had the SDS. This is all right out of the Hayden “playbook” and the Socialists call for action not rhetoric.

“Viva La Revolucion” against American Democracy and Capitalism is a very serious goal for these people. If you think Al-Qaeda and bin Laden are our only enemy in America think again. What makes their threat even more insidious is their alliance with al-Qaeda! I have repeatedly written about this “Enemy from Within!” I hate to say “I told you so,” but I will. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it’s a duck!”

These radicals can call themselves “Progressives” or anything else they want to call themselves; but a Socialist/communist is still a Socialist/communist!! Just because they started “political correctness” to mask their doctrine doesn’t make them any less a “duck!” Quack! Quack!

Now let’s see if the cowards who bombed that Recruiter Office have the “brass ones” to take credit for their traitorous actions! I say bring back the “Smith Act” and lock them all up and throw away the key. Then deport the rest who are ideologically channeled to North Korea, China, or Cuba. Then let’s see how they “love” the good life they want for the rest of us poor repressed “masses!”

While we’re at it, let’s send Hillary, Obama, Jane Fonda, George Soros; and, send all of the Progressive Caucus, especially Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders.

I like to go to the cemetery at night
when the darkness spreads its eerie light.

I always drive down the road to the right
following the soft beam of the headlights.

As I drive slowly through the darkness I see
a carpet of beautiful trees scattered randomly.

The road quietly meanders around the outside
as I continue through where you now reside.

Inside the loop throughout the quiet little park
I see scattered here and there lanterns in the dark.

In every direction they cast a soft glow of light
like one big silky blanket of warmth each night.

They maintain their vigilance, the lanterns and trees
like the moon and stars nightly watch over the seas.

Finally I come to a stop and get out and walk a ways
down the little cement path I haven’t visited in days.

Then I look down at the marble plague on the ground
as all around me the crickets are the only sound.

I walk around to make sure nothing’s been disturbed
then I sit and talk to you for a while sure I am heard.

I talk about the good times we all used to share
and tell you how I feel and I lay my soul bare.

I talk about how proud we all are for what you did
and I think a lot about when you were just a kid.

I tell you what I know of your girls and you mom’s life
and then all about you grandma and Tisha, your wife.

But most of all I just sit and talk about things
I didn’t talk about before as I wipe away the tears that this always brings!

“Message to Congress: Build the Fence”

While our troops defend our freedom and Democracy abroad and the same for others, it is our duty to do the same here at home. Part of that effort is the security and the protection of our nation. Congress has repeatedly let us down both at home and abroad in both our efforts and those of our troops. There is a lot going on right now that we all need to do to force Congress to pass legislation to protect our borders and support the efforts of our troops abroad. “The Long Tail of Politics??”

From Isaac Garcia’s Blog comes a post, Barack Obama and The Long Tail of Politics about the latest trend in campaigning which shows how a candidate can literally draw the cockroaches out of their cracks to cast their votes in favor of a candidate. Garnering contributions as small as $5.00 to $10.00, millions can be quickly drawn in and a candidate propelled into the forefront of the political arena. All of this is accomplished by presenting the appearance or illusion of a politician speaking to “me,” the individual! In actuality, this is an example of socialism at its best!

But, this is not a new approach. The socialist movement under the machinations of IAC, ANSWER, UFPJ, and the rest of the thousands of small coalitions they have established at local levels are something these organizations have been implementing for some time. It is the culmination of over twenty years of planning. The Internet, however, has provided them the means they needed to accomplish their goals.

The article takes a different approach to what is happening. At least that is my perception from reading it. But, basically, I think the mechanics are the same. I say this because as I read the article, I get the impression that the writer sees no real organizing force behind this trend. On the other hand, I do see a driving force. This is exactly what the socialists organizations have been talking about on their sites for some time now. The sudden development and rapid growth of the Internet simply provided an unexpected means to carryout a well organized and thoughtful plan years in the development.

America, according to socialists is the only Democracy that has failed to date to embrace socialism. The determination of socialists to overcome American resistance has become a driving force and focal point for socialists world wide! What is amazing to me is that socialist regimes are collapsing and failing world wide. So, why the determination to continue to push for a failed system and topple a successful system?

Election Day – Are you Voting for a “New Way” or a “Lemming!”

Today is an election day in my state. Of course the local radio stations always get right into the middle of the fray. One in particular, “Elliot in the Morning,” is a little like the Howard Stern of “suburbia” to me. My two kids, 23 and 25, love him, naturally. To be honest, he can be really funny and at times very intuitive!

I had to go out in my son’s car early this morning and when I started her up, who assaulted my hearing, you got it, “Elliot!” At that time, he had a discussion going with kids whose dad had had sex changes. It was a very interesting discussion. Then he got a discussion going about the elections this morning.

One caller stood out most in my mind. She voted for Obama. She also said that she generally voted by her party preference first. But, she was excited about Obama and Hillary because they were making History! As the discussion continued, Elliot tried to determine if she was voting for a candidate because it was so great to have a Black or Woman candidate or because they were the best candidate for the job. He made a point of saying he was all for a Black or Woman President if the candidate was the best qualified for the job!

That caller and several others “did not” get his message. All most could say who voted for either Obama, Clinton, or a “progressive” or Democratic candidate was it is time for a change now. The one side had been in there long enough and it was time to give the other party a chance. They felt it was time for a “new direction!” But, none offered a clear cut view of what that new “direction” entailed. Get real people. Get your head out of your:

Head Up Your Ass!

Our freedom depends on your vote. Instead of accepting the “party line,” check out their voting record through Thomas. It is also a good idea to check out candidates, Democratic especially, but, not exclusively. Many of the so called “Progressive” candidates are very involved in the “Socialist Movement” in America. They are either supporters of Mao, Castro, Trotsky, or other communist dictators or or ideologist. Many are supporters or members of organizations run by Workers World Party, fronted by ANSWER and IAC; and, UFPJ, Code Pink, and NION who are members of a coalition. Members of the Progressive Caucus are all also members of DSA, a member organization of UFPJ and the “largest socialist organization in America!”

PSL, “Party for Socialism and Revolution,” broke from Workers World Party and want an actual revolution in America. They are affiliated with IAC and [International] ANSWER.

Additionally, regarding the Progressive Caucus from Discoverthenetwork.org, let me quote:

In order “to bring new life to the progressive voice in U.S. politics,” the Progressive Caucus has worked closely with Progressive Challenge, a project of the Institute for Policy Studies. Progressive Challenge is a coalition through which the activities and talking points of leftist groups are synchronized and harmonized with one another, producing coordinated, mutually-reinforcing propaganda from some 200 seemingly-unconnected groups.

These are the groups behind the “new way” slogan being thrown around by the Democratic leadership and those cross-over Republicans [oops Democrats]. Before you vote, make sure you know who you are really voting for and what they really hope to accomplish. For heaven’s sake, stop being sheep. Better yet, uncurl your nose from the tail of the ‘elephant” in front of you and take a closer look to the left and the right and straight ahead or you may find that you have become a “lemming!”
