API stands for Application Programming Interface.
API is a defined set of rules, which contains clearly defined methods of communication. API helps different software components to interact with each other.

API testing involves testing the collection of APIs and checking if they meet expectations for functionality, reliability, performance, and security and returns the correct response.
API testing is used to determine whether the output is well-structured and useful to another application or not, checks the response on basis of input (request) parameter, and checks how much time the API is taking to retrieve and authorize the data too. 🚀 Tools and services I recommend:
Retesting vs Regression Testing : When We Do Retesting in Software Development?(With Example)

In this video of Retesting vs Regression Testing, We are going to learn about the What is the main difference between two retesting and regression.

What is Retesting?

In the retesting in software testing, It basically means testing a bug that has been fixed.
Most of the Time Tester finds a bug in the Application(Web or mobile), It logs it in the JIRA and Assign it to Dev, after dev fixes it, Dev assign back to Tester to verification.
Now Tester verify the bug, This is known the
Retesting.

Benefits of retesting

Test the cases that are failed only

Fast execution.

Only have to perform the important or failed cases

When, ReTesting is Done?
I
n retesting those test cases are included which were failed earlier.
Retesting ensures that the issue has been fixed and is working as expected.
Retesting is done by replicating the same scenario with same data in new build.
It is a planned testing with proper steps of verification
In some cases the entire module is required to be re-tested to ensure the quality of the module.

Example of Retesting

Suppose Save button is not working

Dev fixed it

Now Tester have to Check the Functionality again.
This is Retesting

I have added retesting testing example and please note that
Defect verification is the part of re-testing
Re-testing is a planned testing
Retesting is done only for failed test cases
Re-testing makes sure that the original fault has been corrected

Retesting vs Regression

Retesting :
To confirm the test cases that failed in the final execution are passing after the defects are fixed.
Retest are not automated.
Only bug fixes related test-cases are checked.

Regression :
To confirm whether a recent program or code change has not adversely affected existing features.
Check the bug fixes.
Regression can be automated.
Nearly all the testcases are checked in Regression.
New code changes should not have any side effects to existing functionalities

retesting definition

🚀 Tools and services I recommend:

In this video of Karate API Testing Tutorial, We are going to start our journey to learn API Testing with Karate even as a Complete Beginner.

✅ Download Source Code - https://apitesting.co/2cKG

✅ Download Notes(PPT) - https://sdet.live/karate-ppt

✅ Official Website for Learning Karate API Framework - https://github.com/intuit/karate

✅ What is Karate API?
Karate is an open-source API test automation tool. API tests are written using Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) Gherkin syntax

✅ We will learn difference between Karate vs Rest-assured.
Download the Doc. - https://sdet.live/karate-vs-restassured

✅ What is Karate Framework?
In this Karate Framework Tutorial, We are going to create the Own Karate API Testing Automation Framework, We will use the Person APIs(with JSON Server).

After that We will automate APIs of GitHub Repo V3.

There are multiple Karate API testing examples we are going to show you in this series.

✅ Why we Need Karate API Testing?

Open source

API Testing, Mocking,

Performance Testing,

UI Automation, Reporting

Parallel Execution

BDD Style, Native JSON/XML support.

Readable syntax.

Mix API and UI test-automation

✅ What is Karate Test Framework?

Karate is BDD testing framework

Developer by Peter Thomas in 2017 (intuit).

Cucumber style of writing the program which follows the BDD approach.

Easy to understand by non-programmers

Only API testing tool that can Mock, Do performance testing, Mix UI

Automation Testing.

Written in Java.

Reuse features, Embed JS engine., Multi Thread parallel Execution.

✅ What You should Know before Learning Karate API?
HTTP Protocols
JSON
Java Knowledge, (Basics of Javascript also)
Maven
Gherkin Syntax

✅ First GET Call with Karate.

Install JDK 8(Java in path) - https://sdet.live/jdk18

Install Maven - https://sdet.live/maven

Sad no Intelli-sense

Install Visual Studio Code.
-- Extensions
Karate Runner

Sadly, We don't have karate framework setup intellij, but you can visual studio for that which is recommended.

Black-box testing is a method of software testing that examines the functionality of an application without peering into its internal structures or workings. This method of test can be applied virtually to every level of software testing: unit, integration, system.

Decision table testing.
All-pairs testing.
Equivalence partitioning.
Boundary value analysis.
Cause–effect graph.
Error guessing.
State transition testing.
Use case testing

Selenium 4 Features | What’s new in SELENIUM 4?

Become a Automation Rockstar : https://thetestingacademy.com

The Selenium Core is obsolete.
Selenium RC APIs modified to leg-rc (legacy” package)
Selenium 4 will introduce as the most stable Selenium Grid in terms of eradicating all thread-safety bugs, and perfect support for Docker.
As part of this release, request tracing and logging with hooks will be modified and improvised in order to provide automation engineers a great hold on malicious bugs.

The W3C recommendation document for Selenium WebDriver is now available which provides a crystal clear picture of how Selenium API’s are working.
The W3C standard will encourage compatibility across different software implementations of the WebDriver API.
The test will directly communicate without any encoding and decoding of API requests (through the W3C Protocol), though Java bindings will be backward-compatible, but focusing more on the W3C Protocol. The JSON wire protocol will no longer be used.

The Selenium 4 would come up with more user-friendly UI of a grid having relevant pieces of information about sessions running, capacity etc.

Upgrading to the latest version of selenium should not require any code changes. Setting up node and hub will become smooth and the entire grid experience is going to be streamlined.
