.....oh wow. Uh, hi guys. :'D Been a while, huh?

So things have been going pretty well so far, few ups and downs as far as the hibachi/sushi bar has been going, but it's getting a lot better. ~~Now if only I could get more hours ....~~

Anyway, so another writing tournament has started up - was originally going to reprise a certain Mr. Badguy, but when the time came for an intro, it just wouldn't come to me, and even though I had a few other options, one in particular didn't stand out until the drive back to La Crosse yesterday after picking up the dress for big bro's wedding.

A friend is writing darkside!Soma, sooooo, pretty sure there's going to be epic confrontations at least a couple times before tourney end. Actually surprised I finally have time to participate again. Also pretty damn excited - it's been a long time since I got a chance to write like this again. Might help me with some fic ideas in the future.

It's nice to get back into fighting games again, honestly, though. It really does. My teams tend to waver depending on my mood, but mainstays do tend to be Dante (duh), X-23, Phoenix, Iron Man, and Chris so far. I kinda want to try more stuff with She-Hulk, too. :|a

Also, I got a tumblr now if anyone wants to follow: it's going to be mostly a sketchdump place for me, so expect a lot of crack/inside jokes.

Quick bulletpoints today!

→ Finally got a chance to sit down and beat Curse of Darkness proper last night - now I'm playing in Trevor Mode, and the more I go through it, as sad as it is to say, the more it just seems like they kinda tacked it on at the last minute. Still fun, though.

→ Sent in my revisions on Molly's app for hellpointe last night - here's to hoping they go through. ;~; It'll be nice to get her out and about again. And might kick me into working on drawings of her for icons.

→ Vanguard, though delayed, the designs have been going along pretty well. Might take notes and work on short stories when I don't have homework/ or am spazzing about finals.

→ TMT is still between Ragna and Rei - so I guess we'll see when we get closer to the date.

We were discussing one day how to tell the difference between the two, and the suggestion came up that they should both take off their shirts [Jake has a scar on his side from getting hit with JESUS BEAMS from Kresoveer, and Dean has his handprint from Cas and the anti-possession tattoo.

Needless to say, little sis wasn't too impressed with the suggestion.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for the obligatory con recap post. This gets its own post, and I'll do one with my swag from the con later. BUT. THE EPIC MUST BE TOLD, FWAHAHAHA.

So first day was kinda nuts, if only because wended up getting out late, but! No problems getting there, I GOT TO BE USEFUL SINCE POINT IS NEAR MY HOMETOWN, etc. etc. Anyway! Got there in time for the guys to be together for the Rock Band tournament, and was able to pop into Spike Spencer's panel with Kiel and Steph. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO ASKED HIM ABOUT BLAZBLUE, I FELT SPECIAL. Fun fact: the choppy speech he does with Arakune? ALL HIM. There was no postproduction editing or anything of the sort, which I suppose was a plus for the production staff. Also, he is completely different than I originally thought he was going to be - he's incredibly confident with himself and had a jack-ton of stories to tell about his travels and his con experiences.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get any photos or video, mostly because my camera was with the others recording the RB tourney. 8|

SATURDAY HOWEVER WAS ANOTHER STORY. 8DDDD

First thing we went to was Troy Baker's panel [Daishocon's official "mystery guest"]. Not surprisingly, I was bouncing around because this guy voices some of my favorite characters (Kanji, Sol, Snow) and... yeah. And Troy was amazing and surprisingly sweet, hell, he was genuinely impressed with my fanart.

Later, we went to the Nostalgia Critic and Linkara panels, which were hilarious. Doug and Lewis especially were impressed with my boyfriend's Deadpool costume [Actually, so was Troy, I HAVE VIDEO OF THIS.], and in Doug's words, "Deadpool likes us! 8DDDD" Anyway, those two were really cool about talking with everyone, and hell, half the time it seemed like those two were just fellow con-goers and not interwebs celebs.

In cosplay news, a bunch of my friends put together a Scott Pilgrim cosplay group, and it actually worked out, even if it was last-minute. Hopefully for NoBrand they'll be able to get everyone else finished off. (And I might be Stacy - if I go. idk yet.)

Also, We had epic Sanzo vs. Dante action this year.

I have to get the other pictures from the guys, including me as Sanzo smacking Lucas over the head with the fan. [Even better - said fan? Is a "Yaoi Exorcist" fan. 8D;;]

Sunday, I got my ass handed to me in the Tekken 6 tournament, though I do admit I wasn't doing horribly, the competition just obviously played longer than I have. tbh, I haven't really touched the game in a while, so I think that it was the first time I played in a few months. Though I now really, really want to do stuff with my Tekken muses [Lars, Jin and Hikari]. :|a Maybe I'll get some stuff set up for them in the near future. :|a

........ and I think my boyfriend got me a model of Dynames for Christmas. ;; as;ldfkj ANYWAY. SWAG POST LATER, INCLUDING A COMMISSIONED SKETCH OF EVERYONE'S FAVORITE BITCHY PYRO OC.

So despite me thinking I wouldn't get something done in time for Troy Baker, apparently I whipped up this little thing last night [inking done this morning, though it's not completely finished yet]:

I'm actually most impressed with how Sol turned out. :|a And I might be adding a chibi!Snow in the background screaming "SEEEEERAAAAAAH!!!"

Still haven't figured out what line I want him to say as Sol, though. I'm sorely tempted to have him say something during Wayward, or the usual "Dante we're bffs and all but good god you're a dumbass sometimes." bit.

So, good things happened today that balanced out the shit that was last night [long story short, I locked myself out of the truck etc etc] -

I'm heading to Daishocon this weekend in Point, and not only are The Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, and Spike Spencer [Arukune, Shinji Ikari] going to be there, but a "mystery guest".

Cal and I deduced through their clues that we're "99 percent sure it's Troy Baker."

Now.

You guys are probably wondering wtf is up with my icon for this particular entry? As much as I admit that Guilty Gear 2: Overture is a flawed game [no rly, it is], it's got some top-notch voice acting.

Among Troy's roles (Including Yuri Lowell in Tales of Vesperia, Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4, Snow Villiers in FFXIII, and Abel Nightroad in Trinity Blood), he also voices SOL FUCKING BADGUY. And he does an amazing job of it.

So I'm getting my Overture art book signed by him, and probably going to ask him to do a line in dedication for me writing Sol for ... what, two years now?

This, my dear flist, is where you come in. I'll be recording his panel, no doubt, but I need something specific to deal with Guilty Gear/Sol. 8|
