Missing LJ

I'm in one of my "LJ mon amour" moods but I'm not sure I'll be consistent in updating. I mean to do good but always end up leaving it behind.
Actually I did write a post back in July but never published it! I will now because not much has changed since then apart the fact that Becca is not going kindergarten yet. And she isn't saying many words yet but is sure able to let us all know what she wants LOL!

Peek-a-boo!

Three and half months have passed since I last posted but it feels longer.
I haven't forgotten about LJ but this iPhone app gives me the idea I'm not seeing all the entries correctly and it kinda bugs me so I ended up putting it aside till now.
I must admit that Facebook is easier for me to use now because the time I find to sit down and write a meaningful post here is very rare while on Facebook I simply share silly photos/links/articles and photos of Becca for my friends/relatives who live far.
Let's see how many days it'll take me to finish this entry.

I'm on holidays spending 2 weeks at the seaside with my parents and Becca. One week has already gone and Lee will finally join us in two days. As odd as it may sound (LOL) I miss him not spending holidays with us but he had to look after his parents since his sister is also away for their summer holidays.
His mom has only two more chemo sessions to go and then she'll start radiotherapy in September. Once that's done she can get her breast implant next summer. So far so good even if chemo really sucks, it makes her so sick, tired and feverish 24/7 but it does work so she's happy.

We've finally settled in the new house! Whoooo
There's lots to do yet and we still have to unpack quite a few boxes but it's stuff we don't need everyday so a bit at a time we will sort it.
Once back home from this holiday we'll start decorating Becca's room. She doesn't really need it now for she's still sleeping in our room but I want to move all her stuff there: toys, books, clothing etc...
That way she can start seeing it as her own special place, I want her to spontaneously spend time in that room so when the time is right she'll start sleeping there too.
I love how spacious the apartment is! Becca LOVES roaming from one room to the other and play hide and seek. And l love the fact that I don't have to hide the mess anymore if someone comes over unexpected ...sitting and dining room are huge and comfy! ;-)
We even bought 2 king sized inflatable beds in case friends want to sleep over. And we'll also have a new sofa bed soon so that's plenty of sleeping space for everyone!
One week after we moved in I even had my first pajama party there! I had 6 of my friends from all over Italy coming and I loved it!!!
It made me feel young again lol!

Becca.
After months and months of walking by holding my hand she finally let go last month. She was 15 months but 14 in reality so I think she's right on track! She loves running but is still kinda clumsy bless her. xD she's also taller than children her age, not chubby because her height compensates her weight so everyone thinks she's older. I guess she's taking after my brother for that because it sure didn't come from me or her dad LoL
She's not saying many words yet but she sure is a chit chatter - always blabbing god only knows what! She does say: ciao-hello mamma-mom si-yes and no. Randomly she also says ca-cca (poo) lol
And she also imitates the cars engines (vroom vroom) and dogs barking even if sometimes she moos instead ;-)
In September we are going to enroll her in kindergarten for 2/3 days a week. We start with a part-time schedule 5 hours a day because we have my parents to look after her so there's no need to keep her there longer.
I just wish they weren't so expensive! But for children under3 yrs of age there are no other options.
We decided to start with kindergarten for 3 main reasons:
1. She needs to spend time with other kids her age or a bit older. It helps a lot with development and she loves loves loves company! She makes friends sooooo easily it's unbelievable! I envy her because she just goes and boom friends. She attracts people wherever she goes by doing ...nothing. I thought it was a feature of tiny babies but everyone seems to love her. Not that I'm not happy about it but sometimes it becomes kinda time consuming having random kids/ppl stop us for whatever reason. End of OT lol
2. My parents can have a break and get some stuff done while she's at school. She's really demanding like all toddlers are and getting stuff done with her around is almost impossible.
3. I will have to go back to work soon
Also because I realized the life of SAHM isn't for me. I need time for myself and be around adults at least a few hours a day. I love unconditionally but time apart is necessary for a healthy baby-mom relationship.

In may I went on holidays with 3 friends of mine. Without Becca.
We spent 9 days in the USA / Bahamas and I loved it.
I sooo needed a break even if I missed Becca so much!
But you know what? It's healthy to have time for oneself other than family. It refreshes your mind and makes you appreciate what you have a lot more!

Uhm what else?
Oh I'm on Instagram if anyone is interested! I'm also going to TRY revive my etsy shop and I would love to keep a public blog but I'm struggling with this one already so I don't know!
The thing is that I long to have more friends here and online but I'm aware I'm not a good one to begin with so I don't keep my hopes high.

I did ready the latest entries in my timeline but I haven't felt like I have the "right" to leave comments since I'm never here.

And so 1 year has gone by

Yes!!!
Last year this time I was in hospital trying to recover from the damages Pre-eclampsia did to my body and I had yet to see baby Becca because I was put in the intensive care unit where babies are not allowed!
Anyway I'm happy we made it to 1 year of age without too much stress! Well stress came for other reasons but, at least, I can say I'm dealing with being a mom better than what I expected considering how I felt at the beginning. ;-)

This photo was taken on March 2, her birthday. Btw I wanna send belated birthday wishes to wonderlinda sorry I didn't write you yesterday!

Yesterday turned out to be a very challenging day because I had to take Becca get the last vaccine jabs scheduled for her. No more till she's 6 hooray!!! This vaccination thing really makes me nervous and am glad it's over.
The ones she had yesterday must have been really heavy ( MMR and MC) for she's been "drunk" most of the day then she collapsed at 7pm, woke up at 3am and now she's asleep again!
I guess I will take time to go see her pediatrician later on in the day just to make sure she's ok and ask for advices on her weaning! She's still obsessed with breast feeding and I think it's time to move on. She does eat all sorts of food but won't have breakfast or any other liquids unless it's water or breast milk! Geez! And she has a mild rash on her cheeks since January which I have no idea why it comes and goes so I better ask. Last we went for her check up she already had it but he didn't say anything about it - bet u any money he didn't even notice it.

Ops I didn't mean it to be a baby post of course! It's just that she obviously fills most of my day...

We are still working on the new house and it's starting to make me anxious because I never thought it'd take so much time! I know that having such a big house to sort out and just the weekends isn't an ideal match but we started 2 months ago and we are only half way there!
Once it's ready I'll be able to have friends stay over without problems since there's plenty of space indeed!! Yay! Can't wait to throw parties, have pen pals come visiting etc!
I will post some new pics of the work in progress stage soon.

Other than baby princess and the house, I've taken the time to start working on some crafts. My aunt is very skilled and so far she taught me how to paint on fabric, make Christmas tree decorations and two weeks ago I've started working on egg carving and decorating (with hot wax)... Here's a pic of my first egg. Nothing too fancy or complicated but I'm pleased with the results. Egg carving is a very relaxing process... Takes time and patience but you get to make great things. My cousin is making a desk lamp out of an ostrich egg.
Please don't flame me or be offended after reading this if you're vegan or vegetarian ... I respect people choices and expect the same. ;-)

Job hunt and the future
The first isn't going anywhere even though my father gave my CV out to people who have quite a few connections. This means the situation here is really bad because - a few years ago - I would have had at least a few interviews by now. How sad!
On top of that I have no idea what I wanna do...I'd love to go back to school even if part-time but I also need the money a job would bring. I'm literally in the "what do I wanna do when I grow up" phase! I hope some ideas and inspiration will come my way sooner or later.

Ok that's it for now... I better go and get ready now that my mom is here to look after Becca.
