Boomer Arashi Fangirl Update 2021

I just read my last post and how the Boomer's favorite was Nino.

Well guess what?

The Boomer's favorite now is Mr. Sakurai Sho.
She says, he isn't, but he is. I swear he is. She's always talking about and watching Sho. Only when Sho isn't doing anything, would she notice Nino. But if you ask her who her fave is, she'd say it's everybody. They're all— equally— her favorite. They're all her sons. (My brothers don't care tho LOL)

In the begining, she started to watch the YouTube vids because of Ohno. Riida was the first one she could recognize easily. Then Nino because of Iwo Jima. Then Sho lately. I think she had a short Aiba phase which went over my head because ... it was so short. I just have this vague memory of her talking about how Aiba is such a nice person because animals wouldn't like people who aren't nice. I think that was between Nino and Sho. But MatsuJun, poor baby, is still last on her list.

This made me think about my own evolution. I started with Jun because of Gokusen. I can't deny it, I'm old. Then Nino (Stand Up). Then Ohno (he kinda-sorta-parang looks like my ex-whois-not-an-ex). Then Aiba when he had that gorgeous long curly hair during Beautiful Days / Ryusei no Kizuna season. Then I finally gave in to Sho because when he was being a brat on Shukudai I just can't help falling in love. February 2009 was that point of no return for me. (It took me a while because I had to get over my SuJu, Tohoshinki, and Farenheit phase first because younger me valued pretty over substance LOL)

I wrote this first thing after I woke up and even I can't comprehend why I'm telling you this sh*t, knnowing for sure nobody ever reads my sh*t anymore. Everybody I knew in the fandom had moved on (basically). Actually, I think everybody I once knew in LJ had moved on o_O

EDIT: Boomer reminded me she started to watch Jdrama because after watching Kimi Wa Petto with me (which I visit every so often) her interest was picqued and then started checking out Jun in YouTube, which then turned her attention to Ohno. Sooooo... THE BOOMER WAS JUN-BAITED.

Making A Comeback Before The Hiatus

It's not easy to ignore Arashi these days. In fact, it was very hard for me not to know what was happening this past year. Even the ones I didn't wanna know. Like Nino getting married.

I thought I had posted something about my adventures in Blast in Hawaii. But I guess, I didn't. Or I did over at another blog (Blogger which I can't open anymore, or maybe Tumblr which has too many sh*t I don't wanna scroll anymore). Or maybe I was just too overwhelmed by the entire experience, I guess I forgot my responsibilities as a fangirl. Then I ran into some problems, as I always say, "Life got in the way," and I couldn't follow what was happening anymore. So I took a hiatus to focus on myself and what was happening in my life that I couldn't run away from anymore.

iBut since the start of the quarantine, I had been feeling a bit down. So I started watching Arashi on YouTube. But most of them were either Chinese subbed, or Korean subbed. And since I'm living with my mother (henceforth would be known as the Boomer) as her primary caretaker, she was compelled to watch them with me. And she got addicted. She said, it was like watching Eat Bulaga (you'd know this if you're Filipino.

Now, I'm back to hunting eps, especially VSA eps. To keep the Boomer happy. Because when she's happy and watching something, I'm left alone peaceful. Also, it's fun to watch the evolution of the Boomer's fangirl. From indifferent non-fan who can't tell one from the other, to picking Nino as her favorite because of Iwo Jima, to telling me that Nino is so petty but he's still her favorite, to having my Honey & Clover movie poster framed before buying a necessary kitchen appliance because the former is more important or as she said it, "Mental health is more important than digestive health." BTW, Boomer is 68yo, born 3 days before Nino's bday, and is a kidney transplant patient. That's just how she rolls. LOL.

Promises of a Storm Chaser

In 2009 (or was it 2010?) I went through fire hoops and spiked halls with great desperation to see SS501 live in Thailand. Though, I’m not a fan. I almost pawned off my mom’s heirloom Rolex® just to finance said trip. I’m not even a fan. Sure, I wanted to see Kim Hyun Joong’s legendary abs. But I’m still not a fan.

I'm a Storm Chaser. And today they've opened up tickets for Hawaii concert to ¨locals.¨

Oh, what I would give to see them live in Hawaii! There's no way I'd ever see them in Japan, it's a much more expensive trip and I'm not a fan club member. I highly doubt Arashi will stop by in San Francisco. Ever. By the time I hear that they're in L.A., they'd be long gone before the end of the six-hour drive from the Bay Area. As Janipanda said, it’s now or never.

I could totally pawn off the Rolex® (again), but that's not gonna happen. Ze Mudra will throw a fit. And There’s no Cebuana Lhuillier here. And even if there were, they wouldn’t accept it because we don’t have the certificate, nor the official box that proves its authenticity. Sucks to be me.

I could totally sell off Ashleigh (my car). But I need that to get to work. It's already on loan, so I can't have it refinanced. Not just yet.

I would give my kidney, but I think I would need that. My arms or legs would do, too. I just don't think anybody would be willing to buy it.

So instead I'm making promises. Like in prayers. ¨God, I promise to be a good girl if you'd give me one million dollars.¨ That kind of promise.

I promise to finish writing a book before the year ends to pay for this out of town trip.

I promise to write a short story and/or a short script every month from here on.

I promise to finish the story board for ¨How To Love Better¨ before the trip.

I promise to write a blog every week, even if it’s as short as 100 words.

I promise to wake up at 6 A.M. and sleep on or before 2 A.M., everyday, Pacific Standard Time (any earlier and I won't be able to write).

I promise to walk 10,000 steps everyday as excercise.

I promise to do my stretches or yoga everyday, even for at least 30 minutes.

Eraserheads Tickets Secured

I've been staring at this screen for more than 2 hours, now. In between, I surf the web -- trying to research on things I would eventually need for the books I'm writting; check my facebook newsfeed and click like on things I find interesting and amusing; check my plurk and twitter accounts to see if anyone has responded to my posts; watch some YouTube vids of Japanese pretty boys; stare at the job opening in this company I'm very interested in.

I could not understand how I feel right now. I'm supposed to be excited over this, as I am -- first and foremostly -- an Eraserheads fangirl. Add to that, it's been 15years since my BFF and I saw them together. Although, I'm happy that we finally got the tickets, I'm not elated to the point of squeeing or dancing in my underpants.

Have I been fangirling over other idols -- Arashi in particular -- to be so ... indifferent?

The last Eraserhead concert was about the same time I started obsessing on Arashi. Did I really replace Eraserhead with Arashi in my fangirl heart?

No fret, I'll still be there as early as 6pm (show starts at 8pm), front row, rocking it out on that day. Maybe, by then, I'll have more enthusiasm than today. Until then, I'll catch up with Arashi and secure my Arafes goods and keep calm and fangirl Nino.

[PFP] Fishing Boat for Ohno Project

HOW IT STARTED

A year ago, everyone went mad collecting money for the Tohoku Earthquake relief fund. Most especially, the Johnnys fans -- as lead by the Arashi fans. When all the panic and excitement died down, a handful of us realized how much Arashi fans would shell out at the snap of an Arashi finger. We're obediently obsessed that way.

Then, there was the HnA episode about how much the golfer was earning, aired on TBS. Our dear leader, Ohno Satoshi, mentioned that the golfer's salary was equivalent to 1 boat. Or at least the money that they showed in the episode was equivalent to one boat. So, in one of the random conversations in Twitter, Plurk and LiveJournal, the idea was born.

THE IDEA

Fishing makes Ohno Satoshi happy. When Ohno Satoshi is happy, he is motivated. When Ohno Satoshi is motivated, fans get wonderful Rii--da crack. Ohno Satoshi needs a boat to go on fishing. Therefore, Ohno Satoshi needs a boat to be forever happy and eternally give the fans fantastic cracks.

~~Though giving him weed would probably give us as much crack as How It's Going-Nino Cam. And it'll cheaper, too.~~

THE PLAN

If the math is right, fandom needs about US$ 200-300k for Ohno's boat. This price will fetch us a brand new saltwater fishing boat of high caliber. A boat that will truly make our dear leader happy. (Yeah, I checked saltwater fishing boats around California and we could get one much cheaper, but since we're buying for Japan, a little buffer wouldn't be bad).

Seeing as we were able to accumulate around 20k in less than a month as a collective effort -- and had we not been cock-blocked by Paypal, we could have gotten more -- the amount of money isn't really a light year ambition. There are more than a million fans in the fan club. There are more who hasn't had any luck getting a keitai mail and get into the fan club, like me. If each fangirl pledge a minimum of $10 into the project, in a few months, we would be able to get the projected US$200k goal.

US$10 isn't too steep. It's not too little either. Though of course, there will come a time when this would look like a money laundering scheme.

THE ACCOMPLICE

Once the US$200k has been reached, the fandom would need a representative in Japan to buy the boat, make sure the papers are correct, all transactions are legal, and make sure Ohno gets the damn boat.

The qualifications are as follows:

He/She has to be someone who has a reputation to protect. And I mean, celebrity status kind of reputation to protect. In order for us to be sure that our money will not be stolen, we need a leverage on that person. If he/she doesn't buy the boat for us and give it to Ohno, we will send all gritty details to the tabloid and destroy him/her for good.

He has to be a Johnnys. Johnnys Entertainment has a rule, no gifts will ever be received from fans. My theory, a couple of staff had drowned from too much plushies before this rule was invented. But, someone from Johnnys giving another Johnnys a gift wouldn't be against the rule, would it, now? They're just a couple of colleagues giving each other a gift for a job well done. ~~Sorry, sexism and discrimination aside, no girls allowed~~.

He has to be an Ohno fan. A fan who loves Ohno as much as we love our dear leader. A fan who will do anything for Ohno as much as we will do anything for Ohno. A fan who will do everything to make Ohno happy, just as much as we want Ohno to be happy.

He has to be willing to pander to Ohno's whims, and not care what the agency thinks of it because his priorities are straight and narrow. His priority is Ohno.

aoihikari said it should be one of the members of Arashi. I disagree. It should be Chinen Yuri, for qualification #4 alone. Nino will find it bothersome because it'll take time out of his gaming. MatsuJun is the general and a stickler to rules. Sho would be too busy. Aiba would be too afraid to be screamed at by their chief manager (oh ha~ I learned something from PapaDoru).

Chinen Yuri is the perfect candidate. He's not too busy. And he's as enamored by Ohno as we all are.

Do any of you have any other candidates to nominate? No? Figured that much.

THE CONTRACT

Now, giving away a US$200k fishing boat for free isn't exactly a sound business strategy. I know, I know, I said it was a gift. But, imagine if you give Ohno a fishing boat he doesn't need to pay for an hourly rate. When do you think you'd see him next? Next month? Next season? Next year? Never?

Point is, he will disappear into the unknown. Like Captain Abe, chasing after Moby Dick.

So, how do we tie him down? A contract.

In exchange for the US$200k saltwater fishing boat, Ohno Satoshi will have to do the items below, otherwise, the boat will be forfeit and taken away:

Dedicate a day in every week to his art, until he has enough to showcase for another one man show. No exceptions will be made, unless it's a season he has a renzoku to shoot. A tanpatsu will not be considered, unless it's 5 episodes of 2 hour specials.

Perform a butai for a month. We sorely miss seeing Ohno Satoshi in his most natural habitat.

A movie that is not a spin-off of a TV series. Seriously, Ohno Satoshi needs this, even Aiba has his own movie. (Preferably, something with Wong Kar Wai or Park Chan Wook or Hollywood, but I know that's asking for too much)

A legit photobook that rivals Freestyle. Not just artsy fartsy stuff. Nekid Ohno will be greatly ~~demanded~~ appreciated.

Arashi world tour. When i say World Tour -- I really mean WORLD TOUR. Since, I'm in the USA now, I can't easily get a cheap Cebu Pacific flight to Hong Kong or Thailand or Singapore, you know. ~~And since, I thought of this first, I should get some kind of benefit out of it.~~

SUGGESTIONS

I know I'm missing some other important things that Ohno Satoshi needs to do before he can have the fishing boat. And basically the items above are mostly of my own desires only. However, I'm open to any suggestion.

Do you see a loophole? I'm also open to corrections and addendum.

Thanks to Japanese Entertainment Rumors, we have a day to day breakdown of how this love affair blossomed into signatures in the family registry. But, I can't seem to find any report of its beginnings. At least, I know how my husband's cheating on me with Sasaki Nozomi started, all you've got to do is watch HnA #88.

All we know is, they started in November. But, wasn't he supposed to be flying back and forth Japan and being all busy marketing his collab with Jason Derulo way back then? To be fair, though, we really don't know his schedule -- and it's definitely not as hectic as no-need-for-sleep-Sho's.

THEORY #1

J&A is getting really careless. They are all too focused on their cash cow right now that they didn't notice they have a loose grip of the leash around their other non-cash-cow talents.

Which is the most plausible scenario. Grampa Johnny is going senile (that's another theory all together.)

THEORY #2

His US career ain't that shiny. Not even the Japanese girls I work with have heard of him. And then there's that standing threat from Grampa Johnny that his US take will be his last chance.

Getting married and having kids aren't as detrimental to Japanese female idols as it is to their male counterparts (unless your name is KimuTaku and/or you're a cash cow). This, as compared to idols from other countries.

However, because of declining population and high divorce rate, pregnancies are celebrated and putting family first gets you lots of pats on the back. If his favorability rating gets high enough, wouldn't that get him (yet another) get-out-of-jail-free card? Oh, the agency will still be furious, but if there's enough demand because of this high favorability, they will have no other choice but to give him a job. He lands a base and he's SAFE!!!!

Do I give Jin too much credit? Yes. I believe he's smarter than he looks or he makes us believe (it's a brand new world!).

I'd like to start a betting pool -- how long do you think this will last?

However, I am most mesmerized by this image. Worst of it all -- I have no explanation why.

Day 9 - movie character crush -- James (Jim) of Once a Thief. I struggled over this for a quite awhile. I didn't want to just mention any of the characters of actors I fell in love with. When I read the list before, I knew I'd have fun writing day 6. I have this theory that they all know how to speak in English. One way or another, I'm pretty sure the agency would have made them take English lessons. Especially after Nino's Hollywood stint. If they really do know how to speak in English, they hide it very well. I mean, even Sho and MatsuJun, who had openly mentioned that they take said lessons, hides it behind foolery so well. Ok, maybe not MatsuJun. He's a Virgo, he tends to be a little serious.

day 06 - Favorite Member Engrish

Though most people would mention Aiba's impeccable grasp of the English language for this question, I had personally thought that it has grown old already. "Very cuticle" and "Very danger" has been over-used that it has lost its novelty already.

So instead of taking just one, I'm going to show you my top Arashi Member Engrish -- one for each of them.

#5 -- Aiba: ARASHI, YOU KNOW?
As I've mentioned, Aiba has already had his Engrish moment limelight. His Engrish will always be something Arashians look forward to. This is definitely not his best Engrish, however, it is the most recent (next to the HnA ep). What makes this one into the "epic list" is the person Aiba was talking to. I'm a big Kiefer Sutherland fan. When Aiba asked him, "Arashi, you know?" I was already laughing my ass off.

And when he asked him, "what's your name?" I fell off my chair and started rolling on the floor laughing (granted, not as much as when I was watching Yatterman).

#4 -- MatsuJun: OH MY GAH

This is from AnS Ep #165. The funniest thing about this is how the team who subbed it wrote is as he had said it. It was hilarious for me to hear MatsuJun say a phrase that I've over-used in my lifetime. For a week, my MatsuJun biased friends and I were saying this phrase the MatsuJun way. I'm sure, a lot of you did, too. ADMIT IT! Anyone who says otherwise does not deserve their MatsuJun uchiwa (LOL).

#3 -- Sho-sho: SWEET DREAMS, BABY
I don't know what's funnier -- the fact that the line was cheezy and douchey -- or the fact that Sho thought it was sweet. It was ok when I was in my teens and when my boyrfriend said that to me before going to sleep. At this age, and Sho's age -- it's just plain douchey. But, because I'm a biased fangirl, I thought it was hilarious and laughing at Sho's expense had become a fandom tradition already. He isn't Capt. Fail!Boat for nothing.

#2 -- My husband: I'M GOOD-LOOKING GUY
I remember reading from newshfan complain about Nino being so full of himself. THIS is a perfect example of how Nino is so full of himself. The arrogant little brat always gets to me, and makes me love him all the more. What's most adorable is the way he tried to compose the sentence in his head -- or maybe he tried to remember something that was said about him before. It doesn't make him cool. It makes him a little too rough for others and adorable to me. Cute is such a light word to describe Nino.

#1 -- Riida: FISHING LEADER
For Arashians, it's already self-explanatory. I am dumbstruck. Only Oh-chan can make these two words into a complete sentence. I also love the way he struggled to compose it. It is the most deserving of top place.

I cannot believe how long I tried to write this entry. Despite the plans I did on how I would deliver it days ago, I deviated at the last minute and came up with this. I'm starting to believe that I won't be able to write anything about Arashi in 30 minutes.

day 05 - Favorite AnS Moment

Arashi no Shukudai-kun lasted four years and a few months. It is one of the most loved variety show hosted by Arashi. All its episodes completely subbed, and some, even have subs from different groups and/or individuals.

This is the show that sold me to this fandom. When I saw a couple of episodes in youtube, I immediately got addicted. One by one, I downloaded subbed episodes, looking for it anywhere I could find it. Until my hard disk exploded, my external hard disk threw in the towel and I had to get another means of keeping those episodes. I didn't even see it in it's chronological order.

I don't remember what was the first AnS episode I ever saw. I don't even remember the first episode I downloaded. What I do remember, in 2009, every Monday nights, I stay in the office (where internet was faster) and wait for AnS to air through keyhole. I don't know what they were saying, but I laughed my ass off every time. (I still don't know most of what they're saying now, but at least, I get the context of the conversations.)

My favorite AnS moment would be from the second AIBA SUGOROKU a.k.a. the return of the sugoroku (Ep 134). After two years and so months, the game board returns with more unsusual punishments and more delicious food. What made this show memorable is the epiphany I had while watching it.

The epiphany -- SHO WAS GROWING INTO ME. The moment -- When Sho was ejected from the game and didn't want to leave because he wanted air-time, watching it through keyhole, I thought to myself, "WTF, Sho's so cute in this ep." Before that moment, Sho annoyed the hell out of me. With the eradication of my annoyance to Sho, I trully had accepted, I AM AN ARASHI FAN.

However, my favorite AnS episode would always be episode #130 where Ayase Haruka was promoting her movie, Oppai Volleyball. Tell me that wasn't the funniest episode ever, and we'll go into a long debate over it. I'll even make a powerpoint presentation for you, too.

Up to this date, whenever I want to introduce Arashi to non-fans, especially my guy friends, the first episode I make them watch is this episode. As my friend Ian (guy) said, "Well, it IS funny!" In the epicness scale, 10 cracks out of 10. Not a dull moment in this episode. Not one second.

Men popping boobies as a game. Pudding in the shape of boobs. What straight man would not find that funny?

My favorite trio, being pervy and all.
(Though, at that time, Sho still annoyed the heck out of me)

Day 6 - cartoon character crush -- Makoto Mizuhara from El Hazard. I was tempted to say Kenshin Himura. But, since I'm a self-declared not-too-obvious-Hipster, I went for Makoto Mizuhara instead. Why? His love for Ifurita. There's still some romantic part of me left. And yeah, Pioneer/Geneon -- I NEED MY EFFING' CLOSURE, PLEASE!

[FG] Arashi Meme Day 4 -- My Love, Standing by Me

Due to internet problems, day four was pushed back one whole day. No that's an excuse. I was doing stuff yesterday all day, and by the time I finished, It was already 3am in the morning. I was able to finish my GGP blog, but my fangirl blog got left behind. The Internet bit was true. But had I finished everything earlier, then I wouldn't have had any problems finishing this particular blog.

Enough about that. On to day four.

day 04 - Favorite Nino cover (like the one he sings on Baystorm)

Honestly, before I started with this meme, I didn't know Nino liked making covers of other people's songs. I've seen some in Mago Mago Arashi and old concert clips, but that's just about that. I never really took time to listen to Baystorm. See, as much as I love Nino, his voice and ceaseless talking exasperates me. I use the excuse that it's because he talks fast and I can't understand it, and the translations are very few and such long reads. Right now, I'm working hard on learning the language so I'll try to listen to Baystorm from now on, while I hunt down those Nino-covers.
So for now, I'll have to say my favorite Nino cover is Stand By Me. I liked playing this song in my guitar. A cousin taught me how to play it, and I never forgot it. If my Arashi-meme-day-2-entry's any indication, you'd know I'm a big fan of Lenon, and this is a song popularized by Lenon in my generation. I'm also a big fan of the movie. I mean River Phoenix? Wil Wheaton? Jerry O'Connell? I was very young when this movie came out. But, I remember fangirling over these guys when they were boys. More so with River Phoenix.

And we all know who portrayed River Phoenix's character in M.A.I.N.'s butai-version right? *grin*

So, it also means something to him. Somehow.

However, a common cover is just singing a song as is. Nino does better. He makes it his own. Nino's arrangements of songs are somethings that he has highly impressed me with of late.

When I heard his version of Aiba's Friendship, my love for him grew slowly solidifying a once brittle relationship.

With Aiba's version, it's like a fun-filled adventure in wonderland with linked arms.

With Nino's version, it's like walking hand-in-hand in a park under the twinkling stars.

The addition of that Chinese fiddle makes it more romantic than anything else. Listening to this, I felt like I was Barbie Xu/Da S in her A Chinese Ghost Story costume.

I heart my baby.

Day 5 - Disney crush -- currently, the closest would be Zac Effron. If we're talking ink, Kim Possible. Just coz they're both hot. And totally far from being a wuzz.

day 03 - An Ohno picture you can’t take your eyes off

This was one of the first pictures of Ohno that I've downloaded. I don't even know where this came from.

There is something about this picture that fascinates me.

It's not the face. Because, seriously I would have chosen a Naruse Picture if it's just about the face.

It's not the abs. For if we talk Ohno abs, I would have taken something from In A Rush photobook.

It's not the arms. For if it's just the arms, i would have gotten from wannatee_1984's post in today's ohno_daily (474. ARMS OF AWESOME OHNO ).

It's not the package either. We -- I mean Arashi fans reading my blog -- all know there are better images of the package. It's barely seen here.

Not the nipple sighting either. I have enough of those in DnA, GnA & Shukudai. Or once again, In A Rush.

Maybe ... just maybe ... it's the graceful stroke of his arms on the flap of his shirt, and the beautiful curve of his bent body partnered by this pensive eyes, that was captured in this photograph.

The light that illuminates his hair and back makes it even more magical.

Day 4 - comic book character crush ---that would always be Tim Drake, the 3rd Robin. Before Tim Drake, I only saw comic books as it is, ink on paper bound together to tell a story. But, Tim Drake, he's like my first love in the comic book world. I've grown attached to him that it pisses me off that the Robin in Teen Titans and Young Justice are amalgams of all Dick Grayson and Tim Drake. Tim Drake is different, you know. He's the best Robin ever.

day 02 - A rumor about any of the members that left you an impression

Any rumor about Nino leaves an impression on me. I remember when I heard from Cassie (moeruhime) about Nino and Nagasawa Masami --you know, that relationship confirmation back in 2009? That was the second time I ever felt real raging jealousy over a person I'm not involved with. On another news, arashi_on has raised 2M Yen for Japan relief.

And here I am still thinking what more I could do for this.

I am also scared that the Philippines could be next. Remember, we're part of the Pacific plate. Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Japan -- who's next?

I was possessed by the powers of Sho and failed the first day. Oh well, on to the meme challenge.

day 01 - Favorite Arashi song

I'm torn between these three, so I'll be talking about all of them. I'm not going to touch the lyrics. That should come out in another day.

This song was the first song that actually made me take a second look on Arashi. When I researched Arashi a long time ago, I only got a copy of their first album. Immediately, I detested it. I even told myself that, there's nothing in this world that would make me listen to Arashi ever again. Not even if Ninomiya himself asked me to (yeah even back then, I was biased to Nino). But, come Maou, with truth as it's theme song, I couldn't help but love it. Back then, I actually thought that I loved the song because of the opening sequence where Toma was running around huge ass cards. Honestly, I watched Maou because of Toma. But came out an Arashi fan. Ohno -- you're my bait. Not MatsuJun, not Nino.

Now, what makes truth different, music-wise compared to Arashi's usual. Well, Arashi songs happen to be almost always about sparkly rainbow colored life and happiness. In fact, they actually have a song entitled "Happiness." So imagine everyone's surprised look when they heard the first beats of truth. Althought the backbeat is still Arashi-poi to the those with sensitive ears, the angst accentuated by the violins and the electric guitars while the piano and the drums chased after them, made it edgy and NOT so Arashi-poi.

I like edgy. I like different. And eventually, I found out, Arashi is different.

Also, the PV reunited me with a very gorgeous NIno, after having been distracted by Jaejoong, Mike He, Jiro Wang and Ikuta Toma. Everything else after this and before the obsession is history forgotten.

KOE

I'm not really sure what's with Koe that makes me love it. It relaxes me. Maybe it's the twang sound of the plucked nylon guitar. Or the sound of the beach resonating within the song.

Or maybe, because even though they're saying goodbye ... they're saying that they want to protect me.

Just so you know, this is my biggest weakness and would never accept to hear from some who likes me (trauma alert). There was once a Kenshin to my Tomoe, as I was once a Tomoe to my Kenshin.

Life Goes On

Life Goes On's opening strings remind me of a Beatles song from the Revolver Album (my fave Beatles Album) -- TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS. Of course after a couple of bars, when the voices join in, it changes from Beatles to BeeGees and then back again. Disregarding the lyrics, the song sounds confused. It's like the composer was having a severe MPD episode while doing this song.

Being a self-declared MPD with 13 alternates -- it suits my taste. Plus Tomorrow Never Knows is one of the best Beatles song.

I actually received three challenges a few weeks ago. But because of the Japan Earthquake and tsunami, I had to put it aside and concentrate on my taking part in arashi_on 's fundraising drive and real life. I'm not the best juggler -- in fact I do not know how to juggle at all.

However, we go through life, we grow up and we make the best out of everything. Even the best of ourselves. So, here I am again, trying to reset my life -- writing once again.

CHALLENGE #1 ARASHI COOK BOOK

When I found a scan of the cookbook in arashi_on , I downloaded the scans for personal pleasure. As customary, I left a message telling the scanner, hika86 , that I'll be downloading so I can recreate the recipes as a joke. I've gotten used to not receiving replies to my message of thanks. To my surprise, hika86 responded telling me "If you do.. please take a photo! XD I cannot imagine an hamburger with egg and flowers O_o"

Facepalm moment. But I couldn't resist. So I'll be taking on this challenge, with the help of neon_raine 's translations starting with this or this. I'll be trying it at least once a month, until I perfect one recipe. My Guinea pig shall be my house-mate, the_bumper_car , of course. Pictures will be posted everytime.

Good luck, ne? This, from someone who used to be an Akane archetype. Mind you, though, ever since I started obsessing on Arashi, I've cooked meals more regularly -- and not just fried ones. I HAVE TO. I NEED TO FEED NINO SOMETHING!

CHALLENGE #2 1992*4##111 FAN-MADE MUSIC VIDEO

This is the hardest one to take on. One time I was twitting with dvampyrlestat about my short movie, Anak ng Tikbalang. So far, that is the only movie project I've finished that I wrote and directed myself. Of course, I wanna do more and continue on. People are asking me if I'll ever make a sequel or prequel to this, but somehow, I can't see it at this time. Yes, not even one with Mutya in it -- who seems to be an audience favorite.

During the twitter conversation, it came up that I wanted to make a music video of Ninomiya Kazunari's 1992*4##111 with fellow fans. NO LEPRECHAUNS as promised to dvampyrlestat . She told me fans would be willing to volunteer their acting services for free for this. I have no confidence as of yet. But I did promise to work on the storyboard ASAP.

Do any of you really think that people would volunteer for this? Just as a peg, this is how I wanted to do it.

I've never really been mad enough to make my own meme. Not actually a big fan. I laugh when I see an interesting one, especially fandom related ones, including -- but not limited to -- Arashi.

But because of a blog I shall be writing later today (which was supposed to have preceded this, but did not), I looked for a meme that is related to the said post. See, my obsessive-compulsive disorder comes out when i'm writing my blogs. It must always come with an accompanying image. Incidentally, when my non-Arashian-friends and I went to Karaoke last Friday night, an incident happened that they weren't aware of. Refer to the image to understand.

I've been following yunoarashi for quite some time now and have fairly enjoyed the memes. But I couldn't find the right meme for my blog entry. So, I went to our ever so reliable friend, Google, to look for a meme and found tumblr account RAINBOWCRACK that is filled with very funny macros (not the anime). All day Sunday, that was what I was hooked in. There were so many, I ended up spending the whole day reading them up and posting it on plurk (credits were given of course).

Still not finding the right meme or image to use for my blog entry, and add the experience I had last Friday night, I ended up making my own. It's not as funny as what you can find in yunoarashi or Rainbowcrack, but it's real and it's relevant to my life.

Then, I went mad and made some few irrelevant ones. And because it's irrelevant, I'd just post it here to share with you. I hope you like it, I'll be submitting it to yunoarashi , I hope she likes it enough to feature it. Wish me luck.

I still can't get over that moment. That incident made me realize that ever since I started obsessing on Arashi, my mind has started to respond differently. Seriously, I left Platinum KTV with "Come Back To Me" running in a loop in my head. I even tried to cleanse it out with "Believe," but, no. It didn't work.

Also, I think MatsuJun is more fabulous than Brittney Spears (sorry tv_addict1979 , just saying).

One time, I was lurking Tumblr and found some Hipster-Nino memes (examples here). Today, while I was looking through those memes, I found Hipster-Kitty and immediately thought of Nino. Not just because of the Hipster-Nino memes I found the other day, but, also because, I see Nino as a dog-loving-cat.

Yes, babys, Nino is a cat. Ohno is the cat-loving-dog. I can argue with you all day about it and I'd win the argument with matching visual aids and video clips. I rest my case.

Hipster-Kitty evolved into Hipster-Nino-Kitty (amidst fluctuating electricity that will eventually be the death of my laptop). It's not as flawless as I wish it would be, but I had fun making it (amidst fluctuating electricity that will eventually be the death of my laptop).

But, you'd have to agree, Nino is flawless. The baby-bump just makes him all the more flawless, IMO.

But, since I'm flaky sometimes, I couldn't decide whether to put a second text below the face or leave it alone.

After 12am, it got wet and multiplied. Coz, we all know, Nino is a mogwai.

I have to stop here before it eats me up alive. Or it fills up the whole building and we'd have an infestation in our hands. I've also added a blank Hipster-Nino-Kitty in there for those who'd like to use it. Credit is very much appreciated, but not necessary. Using it will make my heart jump -- giving me a link to it will make it go "doki-doki."

The thread is still ongoing, and by the time I hit the "post" button, we'd already be thinking of how Ohno would fish 'em Shai-Hulud. In which, I wouldn't contest -- seeing as Ohno already has the skin of a Fremen. However, Fremen!Ohno would definitely be a sad one, unless he's in charge of taking care of the sound trouts. No Tuna or Bonito for the fisherman Fremen. LOL

On the other hand, we're still debating whether MatsuJun is a Face Dancer, a Bene Gesserit or an Honored Matre.
But for sure, Nino would be the Mentat -- playing the Dune game where his co-members are then currently in.

I know most of you don't understand the Dune language or the universe at all. I'm also sure that Sho wouldn't know who Paul Muad'dib is. But I had a little fun with the image above, a mashed-up Sho and Videogme!Paul (from gameandplayer.net). Doesn't it suit him? OMG James McAvoy would be proud to call him daddy! (LMAO)

I am 100% sure, Nino knows this game. I'm not sure, though, if he knows the literature that inspired the game. Oh well, I'll force feed it to him eventually, before we get married. As most of my closest friends know, Dune & Arashi are my deal maker or deal breaker when it comes to lovers. As he's already part of Arashi, Nino's got 50 points already.

so today's the first time i looked at my account's profile. and it really surprised me. my cousin cassie (moeruhime) --who should start her own LJ account-- changed a lot of things in my absence. for one, the name of my profile was under her name?
