I know that your flists must be saturated with discussion and comments about Robin Williams, depression, and suicide. And while I don't particularly like entering into those conversations in a widely public forum, I feel that I need to say something in this case.
I tried to get as close to the descriptions as possible, with a few exceptions because I could not for the life of me think of anyone else. Opinions?

Yes, this is yet another blog post about the fact that "9/11" happened ten years ago, but we as a society are nothing if not occasionally redundant.
Under the cut is how I remember things, how I feel about them, and what today is to me. It's not particularly short, but I hope you will read it because they are very important words to me. If you don't, however, I won't blame you at all. It has been hard, being bombarded for a decade with sentimentality and reminiscence, but sometimes genuine growth and understanding can be achieved through those things, and that's what I tried to do for myself with this.
I've got an offer post over at help_japan right here. Even if none of you would like to bid for me, I would really appreciate it if you could direct others to the post to see if they would. This is slightly terrifying for me, but hey...It's for a good cause.
I am offering: Two fanfictions, 1,000 word minimum each.
Fandoms: Castle, Star Trek Reboot, Supernatural, Blackadder, Mystery Men, Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The Dresden Files, Sherlock, New Doctor Who, Shakespeare's cannon, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Dollhouse, ReAnimator, Discworld (specifically the Gaurds, Death, Moist Von Lipwig, and the Witches), Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Additional Information: Prompts highly preferable, but not necessary. I will try to work with whatever pairing you would like (within limits) and will not go any further than PG13 in regards to sexual content (exceptions may be discussed with the winner). Due dates to be discussed.
...OH GOD... researchgrrrl just made me watch Coppola's Dracula... D8 AGH. THERE WAS A TWILIGHT SCENE WHY GOD WHY It was soooooort of hilarious some of the time... It has... Oh GOD... My brain can't punctuate in anything other than elipses... The shadow strangling... The lesbian makeouts... The... The gold mumu...
Yes. I, formerly festegurl92101, am now defenestratorrr! badplanmobile gave me tokens, because he had spare. And because he is awesome. And totally not sitting beside me on the couch commenting on this post as I write it. *shiftyeyes* I have wanted for quite a while to change my username, but was too much of a cheap bastard to actually do it. But now, through the generosity of awesome friends, I have finally gotten to. YAY.
Also, I will be starting classes in London in thirteen days. Thirteen days, guys. THIRTEEN. O_O When I am better able to make words about this, I will do so. But until then, all I got is pretty much THIRTEEN DAYS.
And now the beastycreature on the couch with me is making me find Jeffrey Combs information in the interwebs. In between working on ReAnimator fics... That's right. ReAnimator fanfiction. I'll share later.
Oh my dear lord, I am leaving for England in two days.... @_@ And then a week after that I audition for LAMDA. *deep, steady breaths* Happily, I'm already packed. Just need to do a double check on all of that, and make my rounds tomorrow, and then I stay up all night so I can actually sleep on the plane and be somewhere near a decent sleep schedule while I'm across the pond. I see some sort of marathonning in my future....
So because Iceland decided to be a douche and explode, I couldn't go to England early and audition for LAMDA. I am currently in the middle of an email exchange that will, in theory, conclude in a rescheduling. So instead of traipsing around London and auditioning for the school today, I will be babysitting for my family friend Laff. Which, for me, is verrrry strange to say. Not that I mind babysitting. It's an eleven year old boy, so I don't think I will have too much in the way of catastrophic problems, I just...*sigh*
Ah well. I'll still be in England (barring too much further doucheyness from Iceland) in a couple of weeks so. Silver linings and suchlike.
It is the runners-up list for a contest in which readers replaced the text in the voice bubbles of a particular strip of this silly little comic that I read. Mine is the last one in the first row, about the Papacy. It made me stupidly excited in a kind of quiet way that I was that high up on the list of over six hundred entries! Webcomic people think I'm clever, yey!
The sad part about that joke is that I only knew how to make it because of reading Angels and Demons, which I need to see... Tom Hanks and Ewan Mcgregor! Also the book was better than that other one...so maybe the movie will be too... Blah.
Anyway, feeling waaaaay too x,zbshldluh adh to say anything of any meaning, so don't expect more than silly, meaningless little posts if any should appear on this lj for a bit. MY BRAIN IT IS ALL SLKU;RDHJKL;GSDP;RG AND THINGS. *flail*
So. I have the influenza. Fun times. This means I am stuck in the house until Saturday, as per the doctor's orders. This means I'm missing a week of classes, including attending a normally mandatory performance, AND opening night of the musical I am in.
So I've come across this webcomic which is doing LotR as a D&D campaign, complete with true-to-life player/DM conversations. Here's one where one of the players is stupid enough to quote Monty Python. It is wonderful.
