It is bitingly cold right now. Brrr. It reminds me very much of being in Europe in the winter. Which makes me want to travel. *sigh* The flat is too big to heat very efficently. That and it's an energy hog. A big gap under the front door, a plethora of single pane, double-hung (with gaps there too) windows and a weirdly small useless fireplace equals a drafty, cold place. It's pretty warm in the sunroom and bedrooms on the sunny days as they face south. But the front rooms are always very cool. The flat has 2 wall gas heaters. One in front and one in the rear. The problem with these type of heaters is that the heat rises and stays in the hallway because the walls above the doors block the heat from spreading evenly. So the rooms that need heat don't get heated like they should. Not sure what the solution to this would be. For the time being, as gas is so much more expensive than electric, we've got a couple of heaters that we move around from room to room.

Went to a friend's red egg and ginger party today. Dude. It's weird to see people that you grew up with (that you still sort of essentially see as that age and not the grownup folks they are now) with their kids and babies. I'm sure that they got the same feeling seeing me with Doug and the boy.

Another thing to mark off the list from days ago, went through the shirts and tossed about 3 that I won't be wearing. There are a few that I am wavering on. I just need to try them on. Tossed a few pairs of pants and hung up the rest so that I can see what I have. It's all progressing along nicely.
