Killer on Board
A downloadable game for Windows
OUR BACHELOR PROJECT
Killer on Board was made as the bachelor project of the development team. It seeks to explore LLM as a possible answer to the Narrative Paradox, specifically as a tool for emergent narratives to flourish. A link to our research paper can be found here.
A MURDER MYSTERY WITH PROCEDURALLY GENERATED CHARACTERS
Killer on Board places you in the role of a detective on a cruise ship where a passenger has been murdered. It's your job to figure out which of the passengers on board was behind it. You can gather clues and talk with passengers to help you along your investigation, as well as use your notebook to keep track of all the information you gathered.
All characters are procedurally generated each playthrough, and use an LLM for active dialogue.
ABOUT THE LLM AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The LLM model used by the characters is Hermes 3 Llama 3.2 3B. There is no need to download the model as it already is integrated in the game. It runs locally, which requires some hardware to function optimally. The recommended system requirements are:
CPU: A multicore processor
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Any Nvidia RTX with 8GB of VRAM (functions fine on RTX 2050 with 4GB of VRAM, but expect prolonged loading time)
