Making rooftop solar more grid-friendly requires a transition – not a cliff edge. Across Europe, policymakers are asking the right question: How can distributed solar contribute more effectively to a flexible and resilient energy system? The answer is not to abruptly remove support schemes before the necessary infrastructure is in place. The next phase of the energy transition will depend on the intelligent interaction of: 🔹 Rooftop solar 🔹 Battery storage 🔹 Heat pumps 🔹 EV charging 🔹 Energy management systems 🔹 Smart metering and flexibility Recent findings from Germany from E3/DC, our expert for storage and energy management, show that expanding rooftop PV remains technically feasible when generation, consumption and grid operation are managed as an integrated system. The challenge is no longer whether the technology exists. The challenge is scaling and deploying it at speed while providing households and businesses with the predictability needed to continue investing in clean energy solutions. A successful energy transition requires the right sequence: First build the digital and technical foundations. Then gradually evolve subvention mechanisms. System integration and investment confidence must go hand in hand. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dWAHxwGg

Reducing energy consumption: delivering energy independence, at scale During the EU Sustainable Energy Week, Europe’s energy priorities are clear: reduce energy consumption, increase resilience, and secure a sustainable energy supply. At Hager, we are convinced that reducing energy consumption is not only about producing cleaner energy - it is about managing energy more intelligently, closer to where it is produced and used. This is where integrated energy management systems make a tangible difference. Want to know more “from strategy to impact: smarter energy management”, read our new newsletter

Great things grow from small beginnings. This motto is closely associated with Saarland. And it also reflects Hager's journey. Our founding fathers started with the aim of making electrical installations safe and simple. Today, we are contributing to a more electrified and sustainable future, far beyond our home region. Here are the highlights from a memorable day in Blieskastel that reminded us of this journey. During the visit of the German Federal President and the Diplomatic Corps, we showcased what drives us since the very beginning: technologies for the electrification of buildings, industrial excellence and skilled and committed people making all of it possible. We thank all our guests for visiting and hope to see you again very soon! Saarland Staatskanzlei

Rooted in Saarland. Connected to the world. Today, we welcomed German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Saarland Minister-President Anke Rehlinger and members of the Diplomatic Corps to our headquarters in Blieskastel. As a family business rooted in Saarland for more than 70 years this was a special honour for us. Founded in 1955, we developed into an international company with 12.800 employees and 23 production sites in 10 countries. We innovate, manufacture and invest in the future of electrification serving customers and partners in more than 100 countries. During today’s visit, we shared how our solutions support the energy transition in buildings and how we are continuously investing in sustainable manufacturing and modern production technologies. As Minister-President Anke Rehlinger said, Hager is an example of "innovation made in Saarland." For Daniel Hager, this success is closely linked to the region itself: "Our region has thrived on cross-border cooperation for decades." And as our CEO Sabine Busse emphasized: "The future is electric. With intelligent solutions, we are driving the energy transition and creating future-ready buildings." A big thank you to our colleagues who proudly showcased their work, expertise and passion today. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dPwWa_br Saarland Staatskanzlei 📸 Christine Funk

How can your home become an active partner in the energy transition? This question was at the heart of our insight session at the ZVEI e. V. eSummit, where we brought together leading experts to discuss the role of decentralized energy supply. Key takeaways: ⚡ Tenant electricity is no longer a niche topic, yet regulatory hurdles and bureaucracy continue to slow its scaling. ⚡ Smart meters are the foundation for effective price signals and greater flexibility in the energy system. The rollout needs to move significantly faster. ⚡ Bidirectional charging opens new possibilities for integrating electric vehicles into the energy system. The amendment to the German Energy Industry Act creates a meaningful legal framework for this for the first time. ⚡ Decentralized energy supply requires market mechanisms that make flexibility economically attractive. Our conclusion: The electrical and digital industry, as a systems architect, can and wants to help accelerate the energy transition. What is needed is a smart regulatory framework that enables innovation and brings essential technologies to scale. A big thank you Jeanne Forget, Anna Leidreiter, Dr. Andreas Piepenbrink, Olaf von Müller, Philine Wedell and Johannes Hauck for the insightful impulse and discussion. ©ZVEI/Marco Urban
