2022 DC Chamber State of the District & Region Conference

The DC Chamber of Commerce virtually hosted its annual State of the District & Region Conference on September 30th and unveiled its 2022 report, “Doing Business Under a New Normal.” Attendees heard from prominent business representatives and leaders, health directors, higher education administrators, workforce development leaders, and regional and local elected officials. Panel discussions included: State of Business Recovery and Economic Development, State of DC HealthState of Education & Workforce Development and State of the District and Region.

The 2022 State of Business Report was prepared and produced in collaboration with research partner, the D.C. Policy Center and builds a better understanding of the post-pandemic city, with a special focus on small businesses. It looks at how the pandemic has changed businesses and entrepreneurial activity in DC, and it also examines emerging trends in the labor market, their impact on business operations, and the greatest private sector risks and opportunities facing businesses in the post-pandemic era.

Sheree Anne Kelly, President & CEO, Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, served as the keynote speaker. The conference was co-presented by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) and was co-hosted with Exelon. Events sponsors included Bank of America, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and DC Health Link.
