Supernatural isn’t mine, if it was Cas and Dean would have been fucking HBO style since season 4, and Sammy would be joining in AU based on the movie Constanine, but with Supernatural's mythology. Dean Winchester is a demon hunter with an expiration date, and Castiel Novak is a cop who just lost his brother to a very suspicious suicide. Demonic possession (the Emily Rose kind), a Heaven/Hell neutral bar owned by Crowley, and Dean almost-drowning Castiel in a bathtub for plot purposes, and torture in the last part. Oh yeah, and the Apocalypse. When I first saw the art claim list, the summary for this fic caught me straight away. I love the movie and the mythology behind it is amazing. I was absolutely stunned to actually get the claim, and then fangirled something fierce when I found out the it was princess_aleera who was the author. Then I actually recieved the draft.... and was blown away. It is amazing and wonderful and exciting and beautiful. It's everything i could ever want in a Constantine!verse fic. There was so much more that i wanted to do for this fic. I actually had plans for a 30 sec trailer for this, but work is dragging their feet over a laptop so no dice, but i may still do this later on. I'm only upset that I couldn't produce some 'art' art, but i do hope that princess_aleera likes what i've done. It's been a blast working with her and her amazingly vivid story. I would like to Thank my beautiful art betas saltandbyrne, comedicdrama and artmetica for looking over these pieces in all stages of their creation. This is actually my second fic I've written off the prompts, though the first idea I had. I had changed my mind when my muse gave me other idea. I wrote it all out only to then realize at 3 am that I didn't use any of the prompts and it was at 3k words with no hope of cutting it down. I'm still going to post it, just not for this.

"Dean, you are going to have to do it. I’m not doing it, and he can’t keep being like he is.”

Castiel looked up from the book he was reading, and peered through the open door into Bobby’s kitchen. Dean was sitting at the table, with all the fixings to make a mammoth sandwich, while Sam was leaning against the kitchen sink. Neither could see him on the couch, but Castiel could see them both clearly.

Dean lifted his eyes from his plate, and gazed at Sam with lightly veiled mistrust. “No way. You would know more about it then I would, Samantha. I say you do it.”

Sam huffed, and leaned forward to steal a piece of cheese from the pile on Dean’s bread. “No, he’s your boyfriend, so it’s on you.”

Dean shook his head. “Nah man, I can’t. You know me how I work.”

Sam smiled down at his brother. "Ok rock/paper/scissors for it."

Dean got up from his seat and faced his brother. "Ok on the count of three. One… Two… Three."

Both brothers put out their hands, Sam held his hand out as ‘rock,' while Dean had ‘scissors'. Castiel knew from spending time with the brothers that this was how Dean made all the hard decisions. Whatever they were discussing must be something horrible if Dean had to resort to Rock/Paper/Scissors to figure out the right course of action.

“Fuck.” Dean swore, sitting back down at the table. He mumbled something under his breath that Castiel couldn’t hear, finished stacking his sandwich. Once he was satisfied with it, he took a big bite. Swallowing, he turned his head towards Sam. "Fine. I’ll do it after I eat. I’m going to need my energy to get through this."

Sam slapped Dean on the back, walking out of the kitchen and into the lounge room. Castiel quickly put the book back up, pretending to read. Sam tapped Castiel on his. Smiling down at him, Sam looked both joyous and a little concerned. "Hey Cas, good luck and have fun today."

Castiel looked up at Sam, his head tilted to the side in that inquisitive way he did in the beginning. "I don’t believe I know what you are talking about, but I’m sure that I will have fun doing it."

Sam laughed, nodding his head as his walked out of the room. As Castiel heard the front door open, Sam’s loud laughed filled the hallway, and from the kitchen he could hear Dean groan. Placing his book on the lounge Castiel rose from his seat and made his way to the kitchen. As he drew closer he noticed Dean had his head back, absently rubbing his hand over his face.

"Is everything ok, Dean?" Castiel asked as he came closer to his charge turned boyfriend.

Dean didn’t look at Castiel as he went about eating his sandwich. Taking the final bite, he wiped his hands on a paper towel. Sighing loudly he looked up at Castiel. Meeting his unrelenting gaze—which hadn’t lessened since he’d fallen, or since their relationship became sexual—Dean huffed a breath, "Nah Cas, nothin’ wrong. Just Sammy pointed something out is all."

Castiel looked at Dean, and racked his brain to think what could get Dean in such a state. Pulling the chair out from under the table he sat down beside Dean, and grabbed one of his hands. "If there is anything that I can be of help with, you know that all you have to do is ask don’t you?"

Dean laughed, "Well Cas it was actually about you. Sam thinks that it’s time for us to get you some of your own clothes. He thinks it’s not proper for you to be running in hand me downs. So he wants us to head into town to stock up on food and to go to," Dean shuddered "Wal-Mart for new clothes for you". Dean looked down at their hands on the table. Castiel followed his gaze, and squeezed Dean’s hand.

"I’m sure it won’t be that bad….. will it? I know I haven’t been human for a long time, but clothes’s shopping isn’t as daunting as you make it out to be."

Dean laughed whilst getting up out of his chair. "Well, let’s go find out. You meet me at the car; I’ll go see what the Moose and Bobby want from the store."

The drive to the local shops was a quiet one, with only a mixed tape of Dean’s favourite bands playing through the speakers. Castiel looked nervously at Dean, and was mentally preparing himself for the worst. He knew Dean had faced great terrors and demons, but he didn’t think he had ever seen Dean as horrified as he was over the task ahead on them.

Pulling into the parking lot, Dean turned the car off and just sat there, taking deep breaths. Castiel turned to Dean, placing his hand on Dean's knee. Dean looked down at his knee, and turned to give Castiel a weak smile.

Seeming to steal himself for the task ahead, he squeezed Castiel hand. "Let's do this." Pulling the keys from the ignition he exited the car, slamming the door after him.

Castiel sighed and got out, making his way around the car to Dean. He went to grab Dean's hand then realized that public displays of affection weren’t really Deans’ thing.

Seeing Castiel going to reach for his hand, he decided if he was going to do this boyfriend thing, he'd do it properly. He owed Castiel that much. He moved closer to him, grabbed his hand and threaded their fingers together. With a squeeze from Castiel they headed into the mall.

Castiel had come to the store previously, but only to the supermarket for food. Though he appreciated his Father’s creation, he never spent any time with children; and Jimmy’s memories of his daughter had faded after Castiel released him to rest in the Field of the Lord. Everywhere he look there were so many screaming children with exhausted parents that looked like they just needed five minutes alone. Castiel moved closer to Dean, holding his hand that little bit tighter.

Determine to get out of there as quickly as possible, Dean pulled Castiel straight to the men section, letting go of Castiel’s hand to start flicking through the rack. Castiel rested his hand on the small of Dean’s back, rubbing small circles deep in to his muscles as he watched Dean quickly pulled out his choices. "Cas we need to get you a few shirts, some jeans, boxers for when we’re sharing a room with Sam.” Castiel blushed, having already caused Sam to wish for brain bleach at the sight of him naked. Dean continued, “Some underwear and another pair of boots. As much as you wearing my clothes make me want to fuck your brains out, I see what Sam is getting at."

Castiel nodded, understanding Dean and Sam's logic. Apparently, he was taking too long and Dean had decided to help. Dean growled crowding up against Castiel's naked back. Castiel laughed, and turned around to see Dean’s face. Seeing the want in his eyes, he pulled his boyfriend into his arms, kissing him deeply.
