ROLL FOREVER COLLECTION.

Every video is filmed from a birds-eye view; it's a skaters line in a pool and edited so it loops forever. 25% goes directly to the skater. THE ROLL FOREVER collection will have a total of 100 pool lines.

THE PROCESS.

Depends on both chance and discipline; nearly 40% of pool lines will never enter the collection due to visual glitches. Even minor variables such as the sun emerging from behind clouds midway through a pool line can disrupt the continuity required for the video to blend seamlessly.

To create a seamless loop, the skater must land the same pool line twice in succession within a single recording, crossing identical points with matching speed, balance, and form. Shadows must align precisely for the two passes to merge without interruption. The footage is then constructed frame by frame through digital masking and alignment, isolating the skater and pool while removing all external human elements. These moments are blended until the movement exists without a visible beginning or end, creating a visual composition in perpetual motion.

Some of these pools are the 80's american dream. Masterpieces left abandoned.

I've been skateboarding for 33 years and it's led me to some of the most unique places. A friend said it best "skateboarders are like modern day pioneers." Last summer, I was meeting up with friends at backyard pools, skateparks, and abandoned bowls in the middle of nowhere. I had this vision of filming them doing their line with my drone and somehow getting it to loop seamlessly, as if the clip never stops.

What came from these clips was more unique than I expected. This perspective looked unreal on screen the shadow play, the environmental elements like birds and trains, how a skater approaches a certain angle of the pool. Being a builder, I look at some of these pools as pieces of sacred geometry cemented within the earth.

With so many adventures for this project, it feels good to take a step back and look at the process. I'm beyond grateful to witness and capture these moments with so many amazing people in some of the most eye catching places.

    FAQ.

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS?

˅

Each visual is connected to a token to prove ownership and authenticity of a digital or physical item on the blockchain, making it valuable for creators, collectors. This provides transparency for both artist and buyer to verify the ownership. It's a unique digital certificate of ownership for digital art, collectibles, music, or even real-world assets. Collectors will be able to participate events like VIP raffles, airdrops. Certain videos will come with redeemable pro boards or Shapethree physical pieces. This is a new way to support skaters, every art piece 25% of the proceeds go directly to the featured skater.

WHO'S THE CREATOR?

˅

Dave Bachinsky is a professional skateboarder, woodworker, and visual artist based in Carlsbad, CA. His love for skateboarding began in 1992, when his uncles used a jigsaw to cut down a Santa Cruz skateboard into a mini board.

At the age of 20, City Skateboards presented his debut professional video part "WTF is a Bachinsky," making a name for himself in the world of skateboarding by setting the bar with a kickflip down the El Toro 20 stairs. As a multidisciplinary artist over the past decade, he founded Shapethree Recycled Skateboards, handcrafting sculptures, furniture, and installations from broken boards, over 500 reclaimed from landfills to date. A percentage of every purchase goes back to the local skate community, funding new concrete obstacles at the skatepark in Lowell where he grew up.

He has shown his work in group exhibitions throughout the United States as well as London, and Beijing. In 2020, he launched a visual collection called "Roll Forever," featuring videos filmed from a bird's-eye view, observing a skaters' line in a pool and edited to loop indefinitely, as if the pool line never ends.

Through these digital collections, he bridges physical and digital art using blockchain technology to connect collectors with handcrafted recycled skateboard works.
