Fic: Relative Placement Only Works in Iceskating [Avengers 2012, MCU]

Author: daroos
Length: 15,500 words
Rating: Explicit
Summary: After the dust settles around the Winter Soldier, how does a family of five fit together? With a lot of work, a little misunderstanding, and more honesty than most are prepared for. This is a lot of feelings and fluff, some porn, some meet the family and some domestic salve for the wounded relationship.
Notes: This takes place directly after "History is Underrated" and if you haven't I suggest reading that first. The porn in this just turned out to be mostly het.
Thanks to my beta, Twiller, who greased this up and sent it through the review process with all haste when I put out the call. Many thanks for the comma wrangling and grammar help.
Link: On AO3
Shouting about Pacific Rim (into the void)

Started the work day with a (good natured) shouting argument with a coworker about whether Pacific Rim was Awesome or the Worst Movie Ever. It was still awesome.

I packed up this morning. Everything that doesn't go in my carryon, or in the keep-it-flat thing in my luggage, is in my luggage. Now begins the, "Did I forget this" rumba. I already know I'm going to have to go dig out my Hawkeye shirt to make sure it was my hawkeye shirt I packed. Fucking OCD tendencies.

One and a half more days. I gotta write this fucking paper.

Fic: The Coffee Bandits of Greater Manhattan

Title: The Coffee Bandits of Greater Manhattan

Author: daroos

Fandom: Marvel Cinematic Universe with hints of comic!Hawkeye

Rated: Teen and up

Length: 40k words

AO3 Link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/825239

Summary: A Coffee Shop AU with a twist. Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff were thrown together by fate but now run one of the most successful food trucks in the five boroughs. This is a story of how they came to be, how romance can bloom in strange places, and how the bonds of family aren’t always constricting.

Notes: A thousand thanks go out to Blackestglass who was there from the first 10k, reading, commenting, encouraging, and helping me with my sometimes questionable relationship with English, and Pluvialmetropolis who came to the rescue towards the end to suss out all the little problems we had missed and give a fresh perspective. Comments and concrit are always appreciated. Enjoy!

Allergies!

I've been sneezing and sniffling like crazy the last two days and it seems like Allergies. Ugh. I realized today I"d been charged twice for this month's rent and that had triggered an overdraft on my account. I'm going to try to get my rental people to pay the overdraft if I can't get it removed easily by the bank. Seriously - wtf. I set it on automatic so they'd be sure they got my payment on time, and then it goes haywire and charges me twice. SCREW EVERYTHING. I wouldn't be that pissed but it's like a 15$ overdraft charge. :(

There's a lecture today given by a HUGEshot in reproductive biology. I've been largely avoiding putting together the presentation for my talk, but I think it's inevitable that I do it, now. I gave it a punny title so I can do lots of superhero visuals. Foiling Maternal Aging: How Environmental Interventions Can Save The Day (and the babies)

Fic: Holding on to Alright [Avengers 2012]

Title: Holding on to Alright
Author: daroos
Fandom: Avengers 2012
Rating: PG-16 for sex and profanity
Summary: This is a story about recovering from loss, finding love in strange places, and realizing that these messed up people you live with are actually your family. This is the story of how Natasha Romanov overcame her fears, how Clint Barton realized he probably did need therapy, how Darcy Lewis got the most awesome job off the planet, and everything that happened in between. Rough estimates put this at 50% fluff, 30% humor 20% introspection.

Notes: This started out as me filling my own prompt on the Avengers kink meme because... well, because nobody else was going to. It started out as a story about friendship between two really damaged people, and it ended up being a bit about love, a bit about growth, and a bit about loss. A thousand thankyous to Meinterrupted who beta’ed for me and was an absolute champ through the middle when I hadn’t been quite sure what tense I was writing in. Without her, this would be significantly less grammatically correct and readable.
Link: AO3

Fic: Pants are Overrated [Avengers (2012)] Part 2

Title: Pants are overrated
Author: daroos
Fandom: Avengers
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Clint Barton/Darcy Lewis/Natasha Romanov/Steve Rogers
Length: 4500
Summary: Between roommates, pants aren't really necessary. That courtesy usually extends to girlfriends and people who've saved your life in battle... multiple times.

Notes: I realized somewhere in there that I wasn't quite done with this, and thus the second part was born. This, however, is really and truly the end. Enjoy! (And let me know what you think!)

Link: Part 2
