World's Finest Magazine Illustrations

All right, I've got six drawings today.

I got to do the cover this year (yay!). Theresa and I had to go around a few times to get the right cover image, and it turned out pretty well.

This wasn't the final cover--I drew a border that went on top of it. The border is awesome, but now that I look at it later, I think it's too much on top of the image with the cover text.

This is one of the sketches for the cover that ended up being a tiny illustration for the "About Us" page. I liked the idea that Superman attracts the woodland creatures.

This illustration was for an author who unfortunately dropped out. It's a title page in the magazine. I like the glowing crystals in the Fortress.

Nutcracker's Promise

There's a lot I like about this one. I like the color and texture of the tree, cowering Superman, and the army of Robin nutcrackers behind Batman.

I love the colors. No one has pink walls, but it fits the mood so well. I also like Clark's sweater texture, and both of their expressions.

Usually I don't do art because I get lazy, but this time I have a reason! After getting a wisdom tooth out last Tuesday, I got a case of shingles. I have huge gross pus blisters on my neck that burn and itch, and it's not supposed to get better for another week or so. This is setting me back on all my art and using up all the vacation time I have at work. I was getting a lot of stuff done before this, too, so I'm mad I got interrupted. But it'll go away, and I'll be up and running in no time.

Productive Weekend

So I got a chance to just sit down and crank out some work this weekend, and I got a drawing done for priestessofnox's story "Unexpected Changes."

He actually didn't turn out looking as young as I intended him to look (he's supposed to be 3 years old). But it's still a pretty picture. As usual, I had a TON of scenes I wanted to draw, and I'll be posting my sketches later.

Art update!

I'm gonna put up my holiday stuff tomorrow with the exception of the stuff I've been doing for The Greatest Gift: A Superman/Batman Holiday Fanzine project over at wfslash. If you like Batman + Superman, check it out! The magazine is being updated one fic/drawing a day, then a compilation will be made at the end. There are lots of fabulous artists and authors, so there should be something good every day.
