When nothing is more romantic than a pair of emotionally ruined rejects bonding over child murder.
AHHHHHHHHHHH
SOREDEMO IS SENDING ME INTO FITS

You want to know how quality this drama is? A moment of complete non-contact between the OTP is more charged and emotionally game-changing than half of what I'm watching this season. I was so deep in the moment I was trying to will their hands together. "TOUCH! TOUUUUUUCH!"

At first it's just a cute, simple scene with the two of them having dinner and adorable conversation. (Adorable because they're both SUPREMELY AWKWARD AND SOCIALLY STUNTED and they can't express any kind of emotion without being nervous and fumbly and CUTE.)

"If you could change something about yourself, what would you change?"

"...Wanna go for karaoke?"

"..."

"...I want to try saying that to others."

"Don't you think that's too small a thing?"
"It's not!"
"Mine is pretty big you know. Maybe it'll surprise you."
"Go ahead."

"I want to be able to bend a spoon."

AND THEN THE SHOT PANS OUT LIKE EVEN THE CAMERA HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH THAT. AHAHAHAHA. SO FUCKING CUTE! ("Don't you think it's pretty amazing?" she asks, and is so EARNEST.)

REMEMBER THAT THESE TWO PEOPLE WERE BROUGHT TOGETHER BY CHILD MURDER.

AND THEN.
AND THEN.

"Things will go well eventually."

"Many things will happen, and there may be painful things along the way... but everything will go well eventually."

"The spoon thing is impossible, though."

And then she does this utterly visceral trying-not-to-cry-in-front-of-him thing and eventually gives up and looks at him and asks him to say it again. Because she needs to hear it.

"Things will go well, Toyama-san. Because you've been trying so hard."

AND THEN SHE CRIES AND I FLAIL AND THAT THUD YOU HEAR IS MY SHIPPER HEART CRASHING TO THE FLOOR AND CONVULSING. ESPECIALLY SINCE (EP FIVE SPOILERS)
