We are excited to share that DanceSafe has entered into a new partnership with Transparency, an evolution of Bunk Police’s work. Many of you may be familiar with Bunk Police as another leading organization providing drug checking at events and distributing test kits. Both DanceSafe and Transparency are committed to the harm reduction, access to drug checking tools, and providing life-saving services.

Our harm reduction distribution program will now be handled by Transparency. They will manage our retail and wholesale storefront so we can focus on outreach and education. This new partnership offers much more flexibility for DanceSafe while ensuring that our community continues to get quality harm reduction tools.

Over the years, we have primarily supported our outreach and education efforts through sales from our harm reduction distribution program. We have had the pleasure of working with a mission-aligned vendor to manufacture reagents, process orders, and support our customers for many years. As our product sales have increased, costs, logistics, and administrative burdens have grown alongside them. With Transparency managing our storefront, we will soon be able to reallocate more of our time and resources to delivering quality outreach, education, and other support for the community. 

DanceSafe still maintains our customer data, website and hosting, outreach at events, our IP and brand, educational content, advocacy efforts, fundraising initiatives, and our public health projects. We will continue to receive funding from the sale of harm reduction products purchased through our retail and wholesale program. This funding is what get us to events!

Transparency will be handling all order processing, manufacturing, shipping, customer service, inventory management, licensing and taxes, research and development, product liability, insurance, web maintenance, and everything else related to our e-commerce business. They’re also supporting us in the development of a new website. They have substantial infrastructure to absorb these operations and deliver quality products to our communities.

This partnership will support DanceSafe’s stability while we focus on what we do best – meeting people where they are with compassionate education and resources to stay safe. This also allows us to improve existing programs and develop new ones! We are excited to see what possibilities exist for us moving forward together.

What Stays the Same

Consistency Matters. Let’s keep what works. 

• Fentanyl and xylazine test strips will remain the same high quality test strips, manufactured by WHPM. 
• Reagent kits will remain the same chemical formulations DanceSafe has always used.
• Educational materials, including info cards and other harm reduction resources, will still be created by DanceSafe.
