I believe it's because Harry is a stronger person in these than in the original and I don't feel so frustrated with him. I find the stories in which he takes control of his life very satisfying . I think other readers may feel the same as so many of us find so much of our lives out of our control and it's a feel good moment when Harry trumps those who have taken his choices from him . Severus Snape also seems ,along with Dumbledore, to be a very polarizing character. I prefer TOS Star Trek or reboot and I hate when I find a good story, bookmark it and my bookmark takes me someplace that my bookmarks seem addicted to and it ain't my story. I've written comments on stories but they don't seem to print in the comment/review section . I am technologically challenged (I don't do well with computerized cash registers either and I haven't figured out how to put people's phone number in my cell phone either). That's why I prefer to read, if I can find my story. (sigh!) So everyone please keep writing. Thanks.
