Our new lounge arrived today! It's interesting.

Well, to be honest, I don't like the colour and I don't like the shape. But it's comfier than the last ANCIENT AND DISINTERGRATING couch we were using. At least, that's what I've been told since I haven't really sat in it much yet. BTW - if anybody is in the market for an Ancient and Disintergrating Couch, by all means drop by and pick it up.

I have finished reading Gravitation and this makes me sad.

I have finished watching the final episode of Ouran and this makes me desolate. Although the final episode was truely great. The whole series was truely great. WAH.

That Name Meme Thing That I'm Sure We've All Done Before But I Don't Care

1. YOUR SPY NAME: (middle name and current street name)
Louise Roberta

2. YOUR MOVIE STAR NAME: (grandfather/grandmother on your dad's side, your favorite candy)
Francis Heartbeat

3. YOUR RAP NAME: (first initial of first name, first three or four letters of your last name)
A. THAT'S RIGHT. 50 pages have been duplicated in its stead so that I was all like 'WTF?! Haven't I read this before?!' before realising what had happened. No wonder I wasn't picking up on some of the jokes I was reading. Because I'd never read the events they were refering to! WAAAAAAAAARRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHHGGG!!!!

DEATH! DESTRUCTION! GIANT PANDA BEAR!

And I know I can't get it immediately replaced as borders doesn't have any more copies. And I don't want a refund as I got it at a really good discount that I wont be able to get elsewhere. And I can't download it. I just can't. It's not allowed to end. Even if there might be a second season, it'll be years away or something. I can't let it all end in under 25 min of viewing.

The Dresden Dolls concert on Saturday night was brilliant. My favourite performances were Dirty Buisness and Half Jack, although the Bon Jovi cover in the encore was pure hilarity. The support acts were great too which was an added bonus. Here are some pics of the concert. The gig was being recorded, so I can't wait for it to come to JTV.

There were a few annoying people standing, well jumping and flailing, next to us though which was crap till i_like_soap and I couldn't stand it anymore and just left to go up the back instead. Also, I'm still wondering about what the hell the drug/product was that was offered to us by the girls behind us was. It came in a vial and smelt bad.

Next up - Placebo :D

Actually, next up is The Sun Rise. Seriously, I havn't seen this show for A VERY LONG TIME. For some reason I woke up at around 3:30am this morning, stayed in bed hoping I'd go back to sleep till 5am, when I gave up and came out to the computer room. I intend on going back at 6 though, as Angela should be waking then and will be wondering where her favourite chew toy has gone ^_^

ETA: I didn't have any pirate-talk in this entry WHAT-SO-EVER!
People who ring my house need to develop some phone ediquite.

Whilst I openly despise the telephone, I still know how to use it. I still know how to speak to other people on it.

I answered the phone three times today whilst at home alone, a record number now that I think about it. I usually let them ring away ^_^. Anyway, 2 of the three conversations went something like this:

Me: Hello, this is Anna speaking.
Silence: *counts to 5, silently*
Them: I'm Ella.
Me: ...
Me: ...
My brain: WHY ARN'T THEY TALKING?! Am I meant to know this person? Quickly! Stall for time whilst I search your memory bank!
Me: Sorry, who was this again?
Them: It's Ella.

*electronic tumble-weed*

My brain: *got nothing*
Me: Do you want something?
Ella: <del>An IQ above 20 wood be supa kewl</del> I want Jenny.
My brain: Oh for GODS SAKE couldn't you have just said that 10min ago?!

I know, it's trivial, but I'm getting these calls every day now. And no, it's not just from dear Ella. I think it's a combination of teenagers and adults at mums guide group, and older teens from Bonnie's group. There are big, evil silences. It is odd. It is uncomfortable. It is not how a phonecall is meant to go. It does not follow the script of phonecall-making. I'm not meant to have to ask the idiot on the other side why they are ringing.

I SHOULDN'T FEEL COMPELLED TO MAKE AN LJ POST ABOUT HOW TO SPEAK ON A PHONE PROPERLY.

BAAAAAAAAAAAH!

ETA: Also (related in the way that it involves phone use?) good deed for the day = ringing NRMA for spanish woman with not much english.
Reward = $5.
A Revolutionary Weight Loss Plan That Will Leave You Gaunt!

Article by Benjamin (I asume he's some kind of medical doctor person)

[I know a lot of us are worried about our diets, I certainly am in the way that I wish I was worried. So when I attempted to look up the dangers of eating bees for Zoe who was recently considering such an action I instead found this informative article which compeletely contradicts my first thoughts!]

You've tried the Atkins diet; the Oprah diet; the Slim Fast Plan, Nutricise, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, veganism and evangelical anorexia. You've been out jogging, bought one of those squeezy metal contraptions that sits between your thighs, rowed yourself to Northern Africa from the comfort of your living room and sprained both knees on a TotalGym. I feel your pain, ladies and gentlemen. I feel your fear. I too know what it's like to look disgusting; to wake up every morning and look in your full-length mirror, shifting left and right because it will only reflect a third of your girth at once. I too was a wobbly heffmonkey, but ladies and gentlemen, take heart: I found a slimming solution that's easy, cheap, and surprisingly effective.

Eat bees.

Eating bees really takes the sting out of dieting! Did you know that with just a handful of bumblebees in the morning and a handful for lunch, with a sensible meal in the evening, you can lose ten to fifteen pounds each week? It's incredible but true! Check out these testimonials from real life people who lost their sweaty, hairy folds of pork by doing just that!

Dear Benjamin,

I tried everything from the Slim Fast Plan to walking up and down my road once each day. Nothing would make the weight shift! I was actually banned from six supermarkets because the products would stick to my hips as I walked down the aisles. But then, as a last resort, I decided to start eating bees. "What the hey," I thought, "what harm can it possibly do?" And my life has changed forever. I now have the gaunt, malnourished figure I've always desired! Thank you, Benjamin. And thank the bees.

Gwendel Oppenheimer
Bradenton, Florida

Dear Sir,

My neighbours called me slow and stupid. It would take me the best part of a day to walk through my house and into my car so I could travel three blocks in order to buy a simple burger. I didn't have enough energy to even watch The Young and the Restless with my children. None of my clothes fit and I had to have dungarees made out of sailcloth. But ever since I tried eating bees, I run like the wind and look like Charles Atlas. My neighbours don't disrespect me any more. Thank you.

Jerry Battler
Peanut, California

You can share the marvellous miracle of bee eating. Eat bees with your friends, your neighbours, your children or spouse - or even in the dark of your basement! Whichever way you choose, the weight will slide off like butter. And who can argue with that? Note that bees are not FDA approved, and your weight loss experience while eating beautiful, nutritious bees may vary.

Eat bees at the park; in a canoe; on your armchair or chaise longue; in Louisiana; while playing Hamlet; while out stealing furniture; even at the epicentre of a major seismic event. Bees can be enjoyed anywhere, but they cannot be bought in any store. To enjoy the weight-dropping effect of bees, you must call our special toll free number today.

Call within the next five minutes and we'll throw in a handful of fruit flies as well! Did you know that fruit flies share 70% of their DNA with humans? Now you can perform your own genetic experiments in your living room; in your car; praying to Jesus; while sitting on a duck. And it will cost you nothing when you buy a bag of bees for a mere $29.95! Not including shipping, handling or hidden fees.

Just dial 1-800-555-BEES and realise your weight loss dreams today! Operators are standing by like gleeful vultures.

I thought I'd do the traditional 'pulling an assessment all-nighter' update! :D It's been so long since I've done one of these I think.

So I'm currently trying to produce my tutorial presentation on 'The Historical Basis for Parent/Community Participation in Education'. I might be half way now, it's a bit hard to tell.

It is quite an interesting and well-documented topic. Fascinating. Completely and utterly captivating. The sort of topic you just dream about presenting to your fellow classmates. I am just so lucky that my tutor gave this topic to me. SO. EFFING. LUCKY.

...

...

I seriously have no idea what I'm doing.

Woah. WOAHWOAHWOAH.

First entry under new username. It feels weird.

NO NUMBERS IN MY USERNAME! Do you know how hard that is to achieve these days?! XD

You have no idea how long I sat here looking at the screen before I did it! I've had daisy_2261 since my very first day on the internet. I was probably about 12yrs old.

So I decided to finally grow up a bit and lose those damn numbers XD even if it cost me nearly $20. Eh. It's not like I'm not going to suddenly give up my lj addiction, so I'll be here a long time I predict.

daisakura?

Well. Most of you know my affinity with the Japanese language.

Sakura for Cherry Blossom (a nickname which was partly based around the fact that Cherry Blossoms are from Japan anyway ;p)

Dai... (pronounced more like 'die' than anything) because I just can't let go of Daisy and at least this way it half-forms the word? Partly. That's what gave me the idea in the beginning. What sealed the deal was when I checked up on its meaning in Japanese through a few dictionaries and they all gave me various results. One of which was 'brotherly affection'. HURRAH! XDXDXD

Daisakura literally probably means 'great cherry blossom' more than anything though. I think that's how it's interpreted when used sort of like a prefix. E.g. daisuki = love (or like very much). Suki = like. So daisuki is sort of like 'great like'. Plus there are heaps of words (e.g. grand king = daiou) or others with great/grand in it that start with dai. I like things to still make sense to an extent see. Though you know I'll still be looking at dai as if it meant brotherly love ;p

I've been looking for a new username without numbers for an age now (probably a year or so) and I finally came up with one I can accept.

I was going to do a poll to see if you all didn't mind the new name... then I realised it doesn't really matter because it's not like I'm changing back! It's funny how attatched you get to names though. Hopefully I'll get used to this new one soon.

If you know me online as Daisy however, that's what you should keep calling me!

♥♥♥

^_^

If everyone at CTU listened to Jack Bauer, it wouldn't be 24...it would be 12.

I think I fall in love with Jack from 24 more and more each time I see him. And at the rate they're chucking shows on air at 4hrs a week here in Aus, I'm seeing him a hell of a lot lately.

Jack isn't overly hot or anything. Though I must say he isn't that bad, no not bad at all, but it's his character that is just too awesome.

In any other show I might question that their main character can ruthlessly kill at least half a dozen trained guards so swiftly and with such perfect ease. I might question that he later walked out safely from a flaming natural gas refinery explosion (which he was in the middle of) with just a smudged black face and the villain unconcious over his shoulder. I might question A LOT of things throughout the series.

But not Jack. He can do anything.

The man has died twice. Once planned, once not so. You know that when he shoots at something, it's GOING DOWN. If something isn't going his way, HE'LL MAKE IT GO HIS WAY. Authority? What authority? says Jack. The man answers to no-one. Yeah, they try and give him orders every now and then, but I'm not quite sure why they still bother.

Oh and he loves men. I mean, he's had so called relationships with the ladies on the show, but I saw him as he held one of his friends in the last episode. I see the look in his eyes as he slams at least one male each episode against a brick wall or a car bonnet. Slash.

And when it comes to interrogating somebody? They don't stand a chance against Jack. Well, not usually. There's one guy in this season that has withstood him so far. Jack even shot this guy's own innocent wife (also sort of friends with Jack) to try and get him to talk. This guys a tough cookie, but dammit we all know that Jack'll get him in the end.

Because Jack Bauer is THE MAN.

~

A show that I can't believe I'm still watching is Stargate. But last night's episode justified it completely. Daniel has gone from the nerdy pushover to the SPUNKY BUFFED UP DOMINATING MALE. And it's so HOTHOTHOT EFFING HOT. Especially with Ben Browder (new character in Stargate that was the main guy from Farscape) as his lover. When those two are both on screen together I melt into a puddle. They even wore matching outfits on last night's episode. GAHGAHGAHGAHGAJSGDYFVDHFVYEGFY.

~

Side note - Just bought tickets to RENT for myself, my sister + 2 friends, tigra_666 and bentley. They were even cheaper because I realised that one of my old email accounts gets hoyts emails and is signed up as a hoyts member. So our tickets were given a discount as I searched through the account for a password to use for cheaper tickets and found it. It's now $23 each.

~

I wish 24's Jack and Stargate's Daniel would get together. Err. Somehow.

My Day

My God it's all over. Once a day for five weeks and then everyday for three weeks at Brooke Ave.

I got a mass of hugs and the most adorable cards from the students. I seriously have to scan them in and post them they're just so adorable. One of the boys even gave me a little frangipani flower candle.

My teacher gave me some caramel chocolates and a card too. I know I've said it before but my teacher is seriously the BEST teacher I could have hoped for. My final report was great. I'm really happy with it.

My day has been a mixed bag of emotions though! The first two hours was dancing with stage 1 in the hall and it was just hilarious. I got to dance around, play musical statues and do the YMCA. One of the male student teachers was having a dance-off with the Maori boy Mika. I couldn't stop laughing. Mika totally won.

For lunch (Brooke Ave students have lunch at 11am and recess at 1:30pm. It's to try and get children to eat their sandwiches instead of hyping up on sugar foods at the start of the day) the teachers had pizza, but not ordinary pizza. It's more like a pocket of bread with veges/meat. I can't remember what shop it was from, but it was yummy.

I had one hour of 'relief' next as it's called, when a relief teacher comes in and the main teacher gets an hour off to do marking, organising etc. but we didn't have anything to do being the last day of term so I just read my book.

The next hour my teacher and I had organised games. But oh the pass-the-parcel was a mistake! They all know that only ONE person is going to get the prize at the end, and yet there were tears anyway. Gah. That had me feeling pretty depressed. The game was going well and I went to a lot of effort to make it all up with little tasks after each unwrapping. Instead it just got kids upset. The rest of the games were relay type stuff though, so no tears there. Another student teacher was doing the same thing, and had the same problems though.

So I spent my lunch sorta going 'omg the last thing I did with the kids and I make one of them cry'. But after lunch the kid that got upset came and apoligised for being evil. We sung the song we learned that everybody liked. I swear whenever I see Mika joining in I know it's got to be pretty cool. He hardly approves of any activities undertaken during classtime unless they involve drawing. I'm glad we did the song for a while because it got me feeling happy again and realising that they're not all little terrors.

I bought them all little presents wrapped up but decided it would be best if I told them to put them in their bags to open at home so there wasn't any fighting over who got what colour! I gave them each a toy car (since we did a unit on transport) but I found cars with flowers all over them for the girls (we have 8 girls and 16 boys), as well as a pencil and rubber (with the amount of times a student asked me for a rubber, they're sorely needed), a lollipop and a little shaped wishstone. I got my teacher a box of chocolates and a good pen, one of the ones my woodturning Pa handmakes from wood he picks up around Australia on his travels.

All the kids gave me hugs as they left. My teacher took down my number and said she'd give me a call towards the end of the year. They have a 'fun day' around the end of year with jumping castles and the like that I can come to visit everyone again.

I'll miss you kids!

Some of My Cards

I'll chuck a quote of what's inside as well since it's quite amusing sometimes, I'll keep in the many different spellings of my last name ;p

From Alison
The inside, since it's so sweet and amusing

From Alarna
To Mis Dufes, I recon you will be the best teacher.
Am currently cleaning out my computer. I'm supposed to, somehow, find a couple of gigs to delete somewhere. It is a painfully, PAINFULLY slow process.

I feel I should apologise to my flist in case you feel rejected. I've tried to go through and read everything but I'm positive I missed quite a bit. I've stopped looking backwards at skip=260.

Am now going through my piano recordings folder and listening to what I can delete. It funny listening to myself play songs a year ago, and then two years ago, remembering whether or not I was struggling to learn the piece at the time compared to how I might know it well now, or if I've totally forgotten how to play it.

Ah! I recorded Bonnie and I's duet of Carol of the Bells from last Christmas! XD Oh that brings back memories. HERE it is for anyone who wants to listen. It sounds fairly crap at points but that's most likely because we were kicking each other under the chair whilst we played. The sheet music is fairly simple too but we had to learn it quick so that was good in the end.

I have a huge amount of christmas carols on here. Oh god why?!

Oh look. Original Sinsuality by Tori Amos. Never learnt all of that song :"( stupid piano teacher, though I probably should've just tried it myself. The next part wasn't as interesting though. I recorded the first little bit for greensery ages ago. It's tiny and flawed but here it is anyway - Original Sinsuality.

Haha I even recorded this really easy version of Fly Me To The Moon XD. I was addicted to playing it when I was watching Neon Genisis. I can't even remember recording that.

I have uni choices tomorrow as well, and am frantically trying to decide what to do about my electives. I've also been given advice from fourth year students that I should pick up TWO electives now so I don't have to do 50 units in my 4th year first semester because it's apparently the motherload of shitloads of work if you still have to do all 50 units when that time comes.

Also something else I've been meaning to do for a long time now:

THE DUCKS!!!

Still don't really know if they're all girls or there are a few guys in there or what's going on really. None of them have a curly feather at their back which = guy. But they have pretty drastic size difference.

Remember When They Were Young?

Well Lookie Now!

(a chicken)

Still not as beautiful, as

My Jack and Jill (R.I.P.)

But they have their own unique prettiness!
I still have to update about the Alpaca farm!

Well, how about I give a brief summing up but with pictures when I have the time?

Ok.

The Alpaca Farm

Totally beautiful spot. Had our own cabin right on top of the Alpaca paddock. The verandah goes over the paddock and the Alapacas sleep under it at night. There were about 4 bubby Alpacas. They were so cute.

Got to take Cassie-dog away with us! She spent most of her time marking her temporary territory, scaring Alpacas and sleeping. I was surprised with how well she handled the 3-4hr car trip. She usually hates the car but this time she was fine and just relaxed most of the way or went about nudgng me to pat her.

The Alpaca farm was really all about having a weekend to relax and do whatever. So I read most of that book from 'The Quickening' series from that chick at my dad's work. She is SO AWESOME. I love the series and it is currently acting as the thread holding me together throughout my prac. As sad as it sounds, it's what I get through the day for. I need to be able to have something at home to look forward to.

Also the place had a collection of videos. So Bonnie and I revisited our childhood with 'Fern Gully' and 'The Princess Bride'. 'The Princess Bride' was horrifically hilarious. It was made in 1987 but I still recognised a few actors from it, mainly the older boss-guy from Dead Like Me. It was so odd to see him nearly 20 years younger.

We had dinner prepared for us at the main house Saturday night and all you need to know here is that the familys son was so obviously gay that the amount of times his family tanted him about getting a girlfriend was a little ridiculous. Still, amusing.

Especially ridiculous considering I SWEAR TO GOD the mother of the house is a little too excited about the naked female form. She has pictures of naked females everywhere. She took us on a tour on which she mentioned her even greater love for artwork depicting more than one naked women overlapping each other. Uhuh ;p

And on that lovely note I shall finish me recount of The Alpaca Farm until I get time to upload some pics!

~

This week at PRAC (one down, two to go)

Beyond busy. Freakishly busy. Have I ever been so busy? Assessments, reports, reflective fucking journals, pages and pages of lesson plans, lesson reviews (HATE doing these. They're way too long), plus all the lesson preperation I have to do for each lesson.

So of course I am now sick. Ick. I swear it's really not what I needed last night. It's only a cold I'm sure but they're always crap for the first few days. And work is having a fucking work meeting tomorrow of all days. <del>So I have to leave home at 11:10 for it, starts at 11:30, know idea when it finished, parents will have to hang around till then, afterwhich I go home which takes another 15min, and will have to come back at 2:10 to start my 6hr shift!</del> Summary - it's stupid and takes away my day. We better have enough panadol in this house to get me through it. I hate how I can't really call in sick because we don't have staff. I just hope I don't sneeze on too many of the customers.

Prac itself has been interesting. I hated the first few days but came out Thursday feeling pretty good. My teacher wrote my interum report today and sent it to the uni. There's a whole lot of boxes to tick plus a section for comments. It was pretty good so I'm happy. The way it was worded, it was like getting a school report all over again XD it was filled with things like 'Anna should be really proud of herself.' which amused me.

Have I mentioned how much I love my prac teacher though? Because it needs to be said. She's so brilliant. Definitely the best teacher I've observed so far. My class is a 'stage 1' class which is the new way of saying year 1 and 2. Though there'd only be about 6 year 2s. So yeah, 6 and 7 year olds mainly.

Just in case anyone's interested these are the lessons I've taught to the class so far:

* Numeracy (in which we used connecting blocks to solve multiplication problems)
* Literacy (reading groups and activities)
* Computers (typing a tongue twister into a word document and changing font/style/size/colour)
* Art + English (reading the book 'The Paper Bag Princess' one day, reading it again as a 'verbal cloze passage' by leaving out words in the story for students to guess and say aloud the next day. Following this we made a Paper Bag Princess of our own with paper bags, straws, paper plates, wool for hair, and this awesome lace I found that was just the right shape for a crown)

I have some really amusing kids in my class. There's one girl that has seriously attatched herself to me. I love her unusual name too, but I shouldn't type it. Confidentiality agreement. She hunts me down on playground duty so she can hold my hand. She's pretty cute though, and gave me a bracelet Wednesday made from a rubber band and a paper clip.

There's another boy that's big on the hand holding too but I swear I've seen where those hands go so I'm not so keen even if he's another adorable one.

Another 6yr old boy is obssessed with cleaning and organising my desk. He gets his kicks by helping the teacher. Which sounds sweet except he likes to help the teacher ALL THE TIME including when he's supposed to be doing his own work. I'll get up to rub something off the board and he'll be out of his seat grabbing a whiteboard eraser to help within seconds XD

There's a few rotters in the class too. There's one Maori kid the teacher describes as an adult in a kids body. He hardly ever wants to do anything. Except draw. He's a brilliant artist even at 7-8. Way better than me. Way better than most people I know.

There's another boy (the class is mainly boys) that just wont do anything you ask. Not just me, as in the main teacher too. He's a bit of an odd one actually. Though quite amusing sometimes.

I'm starting to hear the words 'Mrs/Miss Duffus' in my sleep now though. Seriously, I hear it so much it's stuck in my brain, bouncing around inside. Gah.

So off to watch some tv now! I need to lay down and do nothing! Hooray!

One about my ducks (photos, since I havn't shown how they've grown yet!) and my weekend at the Aplpaca farm, but more importantly I have music tour dates to share.

THE DRESDEN DOLLS ARE COMING BACK TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER!

September 16th, 2006
Sydney, Australia
The Gaelic Theatre
ALL AGES - hence my sister is stoked.

Tickets on sale July 7th apparently. <del>Still trying to find a site for prices but</del> I bet tickets will be sold through moshtix again and probably wont come up for a few weeks. The Gaelic Theatre/Club website.

Also, there's Snow Patrol on tour in July (I have info, websites and dates on my other computer if anyone wants it) with tickets going on sale this Friday through ticketek at 9am for around $56 maybe. I'm going to have to give this one a miss though I think, as I wont be able to be online at 9am Friday. Got to go to my STUPID EFFING PRAC.

I realised last night that I'd left my mobile phone in the uni computer rooms the day before.

So obviously when I told dad he was like 'Aw that's a bugger' and mum was like 'HOW COULD YOU OMG YOU CAN WALK TO UNI RIGHT NOW AND SEARCH EVERYONE'S POCKETS. ELSE YOU WILL CATCH THE BUS TO UNI TOMORROW TO LOOK EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO MORE BUSES BACK FOR ANOTHER 6 HRS. NOBODY WILL HAND IT IN THOUGH. YOU AND YOUR MOBILE ARE DOOMED. I'M NOT BUYING YOU A NEW ONE YOU WHORE'.

I rang the uni today though and some brilliant person has handed it in, with my name on a post-it attatched to the phone.

<del>Errr... right. I've realised this year that a lot of people in my uni actually know my name when I have no idea what there's is, so I've gotten used to that, but that somebody would recognise my phone is odd considering it's not like the only one of its make! I don't have my name written anywhere in or on my phone either. That includes sms's. And nobody I knew was around me when I left it there.

Clearly I have a guardian angel of sorts looking after me and my possessions. And he resembles Aziraphale, I just know it.</del>

NO actually! He resembles Kerryn! XD Kerryn rang my mobile yesterday and was greeted by the Ourimbah Library Staff. Must've rang when they were looking straight at my phone for them to have answered since my phone's on silent.

You have no idea how freaky it was last night as I was just drifting off to sleep with Snow Patrol's new album to hear:

Put Sufjan Stevens on
and we'll play your favorite song
"Chicago" bursts to life

sung in my ears. Snow patrol just mentioned one of my other favourite singers I keep listening to at the moment XD

Oh and now he's singing with Rufus Wainwright's sister!

I'm only halfway through the album but it seems pretty neat so far.

I watched Zatoichi today, an excellent olden style samurai-type movie from Japan.

It consisted of a hot cross-dressing geisha boy. What else is there to say? Alright it was also quite amusing, with a likeable old blind man as the kickass samurai ‘Zatoichi’. And a sort of anti-hero guy who only joined the ‘evil’ side to try and get money for his sick wife (or sister? or just some random chick he thought was neat?). He goes up against Zatoichi near the end and well, yeah. Don’t want to give away any plot points!... Plus there was the Geisha boy and his sister, a gambling addict, his aunt, and a crazy half-dressed man who ran around in circles yelling. Because he was crazy.

Another amusing thing to the movie was that it kept having these little musical parts. Not like ‘singing’ musical, like ‘beat and rhythm’ musical. Sorta like how Bjork’s Dancer in the Dark amplified the sounds in the factory she worked in to create a sort of pattern. It was pretty neat.

Honestly this film had everything. Humor, action, drama, great cinematography & music plus men in drag. Not to mention a great dance routine at the end XD

I would give this movie 9 1/2 stars out of ten if it wanted to take some stars from me. 1/2 star off because the very last (LITERAL) second of the movie was a tad confusing though this could have been due to bad translation.

~

In another part of the world this time, I was also amused/impressed by Thailand's 'Ong Bak'. A martial arts type movie, based around a village that has their god's statue stolen so one representative sets out to retrieve it. Well, I may have liked it because I was expecting it to be complete rubbish, and though the end was a tad silly, on a whole it was quite amusing.

~

I also watched 'Boat Trip' tonight. A film of a slightly different genre than the other two I've mentioned. It was about two hetrosexual men going on a gay cruise by mistake. It was pure GOLD. Except when they made up a stupid reason for there to be girls on the cruise. But the entire film was worth it just for the shirtless hot men making out in the background of every scene.

God thinks Aziriphale and Crowley would be a hot couple.
