2025 Blog Year in Review + Brief Update

I’m a few days late with this post. Things have been busy with visiting family for the holidays, and we’ve been dealing with various house things since we moved. Of course, those are just excuses, since I’m managing to write this while I have a cold.

Some people may have noticed that I didn’t write a reflection post at the half-year mark. Since my position was made permanent, I’ve been working on more projects, some of which have been longer term. I just felt that there wasn’t enough for a standalone post, so I’ll write one in June.

I knew what was added in WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 generally, but hadn’t yet looked at how they apply in a practical way yet, so it was a great opportunity to brush up my web accessibility knowledge. Reflection: Second half of my seventh year at GitLab and doing Strategy & Operations for Product (and Engineering)

This week is my seventh anniversary at GitLab, and it’s still a little hard to believe. At this point, there are 82 people who started before me and are still at the company. That’s actually pretty good, 7 years later, when there were about 275 people when I started, so about a third are still here.
