I've followed the tutorials below to make a step sequencer with adjustable length. What I'm having trouble with is the ability to keep the note values and on/off values of higher steps when the sequence is shortened. 

For example if I have a 16 note sequence I like, to be able to shorten it to 11 notes, and then lengthen back to 16 and have the original 16 note sequence I liked (with the same note values in the multi-slider and same on/off triggers in the matrixctrl).

Is this possible and if so I'd really appreciate any help - thanks so much!

I've noticed that when I use the Max Project Manager to create a Standalone, the project files in the "other" do not get included in the standalone.  This is painful because it means I have to manually re-add them... in the right place... every time I update the patches and rebuild the standalone.

* .dll's that my externals depend on.   These need to be manually added to the "resources/support" folder inside the standalone.

* Fonts.  These need to be added to a "resources/fonts" folder that I create myself inside the standalone.

This manual fiddliness is pretty disruptive to rapid iteration when testing and distributing my standalone.  

Does anybody have any recommendations or best practices around this?  Is their any way to set my project so that when I build it as a standalone, all of its components are included and in the right place?

I saw someone on another forum ask for advice on how to implement a real PLL using Max/MSP. It seemed like a great task for gen~, so I put this patch together. The gen~ object creates a square wave internally and tries to lock onto the signal from a cycle~ object.

PLLs can be a tricky subject, but playing with the patch doesn't require understanding the math. I tried to add comments about how tuning controls affect the behavior.

This implementation uses a "bang-bang" phase detector and a PI control loop.

right - but is a bit of a Frankenstein's monster of things bolted together, including a gen~ resurrection of the ancient grooveduck~ (if anyone remembers that?) written by Graham Wakefield. 

What it does - nearly does - is simple: it records a loop in time with the transport clock, starting and stopping the recording of the loop on the next 'downbeat',  using  primed onebang.

BUT I can't figure out how to have it start playing from the start of the buffer as soon as the loop is done recording: there's always a pause.

It if was just a ~groove object, I'd send it a 0 message, but opening the gen~ object just baffles me  because there's no ~groove in there (and reminds me that I must get Graham's book and learn gen~)

In the meantime - can anyone help with the final step in this patch?

I’m wondering if it’s possible to use m4l to trigger the "Edit Info Text" mode for a selected clip. Right now, the only way to do this is by right-clicking the clip and selecting the option from the context menu, which can be a bit tedious.

I’m thinking it would be super helpful to have an M4L device or shortcut that directly opens the "Edit Info Text" mode for the currently selected clip, especially for speeding up workflow.

I looked into the Live API through m4l, and I know it’s possible to interact with a clip’s infotext property (e.g., retrieving or setting the value), but I’m not sure if there’s a way to actually simulate the right-click menu action to enable the editing mode.

I am trying to export one of the RNBO guitar pedal patches to my Raspberry Pi 4. I can see the target listed, I can ssh in, and everything on the RPI seems to be fine from what I can tell. But when I try to export, I get the following error:
