Oil for our lamps

Intro: When our kids were little, we had a VHS tape, yes our kids remember VHS tapes, we even still have a few sitting around. And we had one that had old Sunday School songs on it, and I think it might have had a few other traditional children’s songs on there too. I remember my mom saying she was glad they still had these old songs around for kids.

I kind of shrugged my shoulders at the time, but now I find the value in passing those things down from generation to generation. Like the hymns we sing each week, any of the other churches that we’ve gone to do not sing hymns or old choruses. They sing contemporary choruses. So it’s nice to be reminded of these hymns and have given our kids exposure to the depth and richness of…
