If day one was about understanding sound, day two was about mastering the tools that shape it.
The focus here was d&b’s two flagship software platforms: ArrayCalc and R1. ArrayCalc is a powerful simulation and planning tool that allows our engineers to draw a venue, model the acoustic environment, and design the optimal system for that specific space before a single piece of equipment leaves the warehouse. R1, meanwhile, gives complete network control of the system through d&b’s amplifier infrastructure through real-time management.
The key takeaway from the day was understanding the complete d&b workflow end-to-end, from the moment you enter room data and start running simulations, all the way through to deployment on site and generating an intuitive user interface that allows system control with precision and confidence. That joined-up thinking, from planning software through to live operation, is precisely the kind of workflow mastery that makes the difference on complex shows.
Tim Cook, CTME’s head of audio, commented, “The training was a wonderful refresher for us at CT, reinforcing the fundamentals we already use on a day-to-day basis. It has helped sharpen our understanding of the system and brought us in sync with its best practices. It was a pleasure hosting D&B, and we look forward to more training in the near future.”
Why This Matters
d&b Audiotechnik’s workshop speaks to a philosophy we hold firmly at CTME: investing in our team is our number one priority. Every simulation our engineers run more confidently, every system they deploy more efficiently, and every problem they solve before it ever reaches the site—that’s the key ROI, and our clients feel it.
