TRIANGLE

Transforming Research, Industry & Academia into Networks for Growth & LΕadership

Description

TRIANGLE is a pan-European initiative designed to elevate Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) into engines of innovation, entrepreneurship, and societal impact. It aligns with the EIT HEI Initiative’s strategic objectives by integrating academia, research, and business—the core of the Knowledge Triangle—to accelerate the commercialisation of academic knowledge, foster startup creation, and address critical European challenges.

The project will implement a structured program combining training, mentoring, and AI-driven participatory tools. In a pilot phase, selected HEIs and entrepreneurs will test sprints of training and mentoring. Feedback will guide adjustments before the model scales to a broader range of EU regions and institutions, ultimately creating a sustainable, self-improving ecosystem. By incorporating AI-powered consultation platforms, TRIANGLE enhances inclusive decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

TRIANGLE’s focus on digital transformation, entrepreneurial education, and innovative solution deployment echoes EIT Digital’s emphasis on fostering deep tech ventures, scaling digital startups, and developing market-relevant skills. Simultaneously, it supports EIT Urban Mobility’s goal of reshaping cities through greener, more inclusive transport solutions by creating the talent and ventures needed to tackle mobility challenges and drive sustainable urban development.

Objectives

TRIANGLE seeks to:
1) Enhance knowledge and talent exchange: Ties among HEIs, industry, and innovation ecosystems will be strengthened, ensuring a seamless flow of ideas and skills.
2) Develop entrepreneurial competences: Students, researchers, and faculty will be equipped with digital, entrepreneurial, and sustainability-focused expertise, enabling them to transform academic research into viable market solutions.
3) Boost entrepreneurial ecosystems: TRIANGLE will support startup formation, scaling ventures, and integrating underrepresented regions into a cohesive, EU-wide innovation landscape.
