We had to take one song that sticks with us and apply it to a fandom. I picked The Harrowed And The Haunted by The Decemberists because that song is amazing and really sticking with/speaking to me at the moment and I used it to inspire a John Thackery/Lucy Elkins (from The Knick) picspam! I think the song suits them, and I think it also really suits Thackery as an individual. But I love my latest and greatest OTP to death so I had to go with them for this. :P

Spongebob Squarepants

THE show of my childhood. I absolutely loved this show and I have the plots of 99% of all the earlier episodes committed to memory. I still quote this show on a regular basis and the older episodes still make me laugh to this day. This show means soooooo much to me.

My mom used to tape episodes of the show and sit down and watch them every weekend. I always watched with her for some reason. I think I liked spending the time with her and I got involved in the show, even though a lot of it went over my head as a kid. Some of the storylines really connected with me though... I am still bitter as fuck about what they did to Reid at the end of the show. It's been years and I still haven't gotten over what they did to him.

My mom never liked me watching music videos, but I always used to sneak watching at least part of this whenever I could. It's where I discovered The Killers, hence all the pictures being from their music videos. I heard Mr. Brightside on there and I loved it, but it wasn't until I saw/heard When You Were Young that I really fell in love with them.

Warnings/Spoilers: Nothing, other than a warning that my writing kinda sucks.

It was Sarah's first Christmas as the Goblin Queen, and she had been busy making the castle look perfect for the holiday. She'd even gotten Jareth to help her decorate, despite his protests that all of this would go a lot quicker if she'd just allow him to use his magic to get it done. She told him it wasn't meant to be done in a hurry; half the fun of decorating was the chance to spend some time with the ones you love.

Though he detested the manual labor aspect of the whole thing, he supposed Sarah did have a point, and he actually found himself having fun going through the boxes of Christmas decorations she'd bought with her. He knew what most of the stuff was, but there were some things that were completely new and different to him; Christmas was a much bigger deal Above than it ever had been Underground. He eventually came across a plant looking thing with a red string attached to it, and looked at it quizzically.

"Sarah, precious? What's this for?" Jareth questioned, holding the object up for her to see.

"Oh, that," Sarah replied with a small smirk. "That's mistletoe." Her smirk widened, and Jareth's confusion grew. What was so special about this mistletoe that it was making her smirk like that?

"What exactly is it's purpose? Does it...do anything?" He knew some of the stuff in her boxes lit up, played music, or even both, but he didn't see what use this plant could be.

"No, it doesn't do anything. But it is more than just a little plant," she explained. "You're supposed to hang it on the ceiling, usually in an archway or above a door, and if you're standing under it at the same time as another person...you're meant to kiss that person." Sarah grinned playfully and walked closer to Jareth so she could wrap her arms around his waist.

"So...if I were to hold this up above our heads right now, I would get a kiss from you?" He questioned, making sure he understood the tradition. A smirk slowly started working it's way on his face at the thought. This was one holiday tradition he could grow to enjoy very much...

"You would," Sarah confirmed, still grinning. "What are you waiting for, Goblin King? I'd say now's a pretty good time to make use of this tradition," she whispered in his ear.

"Very well then, precious," Jareth replied with a grin as he held the mistletoe up above their heads. "Show me just how this tradition is meant to-" He was cut off by Sarah kissing him hard, yet sweetly, on the lips. He smiled against her lips as he deepened the kiss and she tightened her grip around his waist to hold him closer. They remained like this for a few moments longer, until they had to break off the kiss in order to catch their breaths.

"So?" Sarah asked with a playful grin. "Did you enjoy that tradition?"

"Yes, I did, precious. Very much so. I think it's one I could get quite used to." Jareth grinned as he held the mistletoe up above their heads once more and this time initiated a kiss with Sarah, which was met with a laugh from her before she returned his kiss.

Yes, this was certainly one tradition that Jareth would always be sure to honor every holiday season...
