Can't wait! I'm going to be the (Red) Queen of Hearts! Beth will be Alice, her new hubby will be the Mad Hatter and Michael is going to be the White Rabbit (Don't laugh! Do you know how hard it is to convince a large, grown man to dress-up like a rabbit?!? It's bad enough my only choices for ears were Playboy Bunny sequins OR Playboy Bunny glitter! If you see him, you're only allowed to say, "Wow - the White Rabbit, he's, like, the main character!" Please!)

But it will be so cool. We are making our costumes to keep them original, and so that we all coordinate. I told my mom I was making a costume, and she got all impressed and said, "Really? Like with a sewing machine?" I burst out laughing and confessed, "Noooo, like with felt and glue." I guess I have to define what "making" means!

I am blending a bit of the cartoon version and Tim Burton's live action character. I was blending the cartoon version in so I would be more recognizable and since wearing a velvet victorian style dress won't be practical walking around San Antonio. There will be some serious theatre quality hair and make-up-ing going on. We hope to stumble on to some costume contests. Unfortunately, Googling "san antonio costume contest" brings us a dozens of contests - for dogs.

The Alice in Wonderland theme is super popluar this year, we're anxious to see what the other costumes look like!

Someone could conclude that I don't read very much, because I don't hang on to books... I never understood why people display them like trophies. I usally read 3-4 books a month. If you looked at the list of books I've read this years, you might conclude that I'm a empty-headed drone who reads everything that Oprah tells me to. But actually, I like reading best-sellers because they are so popular, meaning a lot of other people have read them, increasing my chances of having a shared experience.

3. Fewer people are living on credit, meaning there is less of the "keeping up with the Joneses" menality.
4. The service industry is just that - they aren't expected to act like your best friends.
5. Huge tax refunds

1. The cost of food, especially meat
2. The cost of cars, high gas prices and yearly inspections
3. The cost of housing - and apartments without dishwashers.
4. The Taco Bells here just suck. They serve fries and it ruins everything.
5. Did I mention the high cost of clothes, appliances, furniture and, um, everything? But it's the clothes that bum me out the most.

EDIT: #1 is the METRIC SYSTEM and #2 is temputures in Centigrade!

I'm happy to say I belong to the "other" group. I prefer a container pet. I'd take a bird or fish, gerbal or lizard over any high-maintanece hairball!

My biggest problem with dogs and cats are their owners. I cannot stand when someone does not properly train or take care of their pet. And if you're not Ceaser Milan, you probably won't meet my standards of pet care. Maybe it's the reason I don't have pets - or kids - I'd be too hard on them!

I cannot believe how much attention Valentines Day is getting this year! Is it more than usual or is that just my imagination?

We were going to blow a wack of money at dinner, but we'll probably spend a little less and budget for some shopping and bumming around London. Nothing too over the top.

Can I tell ya a funny story?

So, I stepped on the scale the other day and I was like, OMG? How did I gain 10 pounds?!? I had started new medication, so I was sure that was the culprit. Then I went into my closet and tried on all the new (smaller) clothes I had just bought and they didn't fit anymore.

So I went crazy at the grocery store spent $75 on diet crap and vegetables. And I've been grumpy all week because I'm on a diet. I'm also wearing baggy clothes and sweatshirts to work - deal with it people.

I weighed myself yesterday, and it was still bad news, minus one pounds. I step off the scale and I realize it didn't reset to 0. It's been 15 pounds off this whole time...

...oh you stupid mother fucker!

I'm still going to blame the pill for water retention and making my clothes tighter. It wasn't my imagination! Probably!

Ha! How can you not believe in fate when you see a question like that?

I can hardly wake up after a horrible night because my 'roommate' started screaming at 4 am. She's only 8 years old, so I usually cut her some slack... but not her mom. I always stay out of their ridiculous fights, but this was too much. Mom's boyfriend was over, so of coarse the kid was using every excuse to throw a text book temper tantrum. Mom is trying the "ignore it" parenting method/phase.

Finally, I walked in to her room and said very firmly, "Your not being able to sleep is not a reason to scream. It is not an emergency. The rules are: lights off, door shut and be quiet. It does not matter if you sleep or not. If you need something to do, pray for kids less fortunate. You stupid spoiled brat." (No, I didn’t say that last part, I just thought it really loudly.)

If you ever wanted to see a human eyes grow to 10 times the size of their face and freeze in total shock...well you should have been here at 4 am.

My username is a carry-over from the 90's, when AOL was all the rage and boy bands topped the charts. It's part of my first email address. The deciding factor in choosing my username was wasn't already taken/what the computer would allow.

"C" is the letter of my first name. "Rose" is my middle name, and my mom's name is also Rose, so I thought since there were two Roses in the house, I should make it plural, so add an "S". It used to be Croses18.. but then I grew up.
