1. I have been in the States twice. That is the only other country I have ever been to (and once was as a baby and I dont remember it).

2. When I get drunk I always smash my knees. I don't know why.

3. I am a speed reader, but only on paper, computerwise I'm practically illiterate.

4. I am the 6th person in recorded medical history to have my particular type of bone tumour. Take that average people!

5. I have been a vegetarian for around 15 years.

6. I have been a Pagan for almost as long.

7. I do my friends homework for money, because I can't pay my utilities otherwise.

8. I think syphillis is nifty- but only in an academic way. I don't actually want to contract it.

9. It is a lifelong goal of mine to preform an emergency tracheotemy on someone and save their life. Fuck CPR.

10. I am just to the right of being a Socialist (be afraid, I'm going to destroy society Mwah ha ha ha)

11. I love school, and learning. If money was no object I'd stay in school forever.

12. I sleep at least 9-10 hours a day, more when my depression rears its ugly head.

13. I only wear black and blue. I really like those colours, it's not a gang thing, honest.

14. I have no idea what colours would actually look good on me (make up or clothes wise). I dont really care enough to find out.

15. I can't walk in high heels. I've tried, but never mastered it. Considering it physically deforms you, I'm not too upset.

16. I am a ENTP, apparently. We're the "Mad Scientist" type. We gather information, and occasionally use it for evil.

17. I really want to be a forensic psychologist, but because of my left over issues from the tumour, and the surgery, and money I've accepted this will probably never happen.

18. As screwed up as my life is I'm still the most successful person in my family, and that's both inspiring and sad.

19. Urban fantasy is my favourite genre, followed closely by comic book adaptation, then sci fi.

20. I think religion and science should be able to co-exist. If they can't then you're doing one or both wrong.

21. I really like the music of Robert Johnson (the greatest Blues man to ever live)-but I only got into it because Dean from Supernatural likes it and that makes me feel stupid. The only reason I read Call of the Wild was becasue it was quoted on a Buffy episode.

22. I don't like "the Classics". Most old books, music, TV, etc. seem to be around because no one wants to be the one to stand up and say that sucks! The stories are too predictable at this point, the writing dreary, and Shakespeare is a hack. Fuck Shakespeare. I think this means I have no taste.

23. I love pasta and eat far more of it than is altogether good for me. Chocolate too.

24. 146 is my favourite number.

25. I really like Native guys and I also like People of Colour with upper crust British accents. I think that means I'm fetishizing the Other, and thats bad-but so, so HOT.

What are the rules on switching out stuff, now that we have more information. He's the Boomer of Supernatural!

Wild Speculation:
-I think all the Alphas are connected somehow. Be it an international friendship club, or all being related, or all being one creature (and his first generation of kids are what we think of as Alphas-like Lord Oberon on Gargoyles).

They wouldn't all be getting weird and recruiting like this without some communication and planning.

Dean choking/slamming Christian into a wall (I miss you silent cousin! why couldn't girl cousin die? Except I guess we'd bitch you killed another female character, but still SILENT COUSIN!), he also slams someone else into a wall, and it may or may not be Christian, I can't tell, damn it. Speaking of people thrown into walls-Sam tosses Christian and Dean toss Gramps. It's a wall tossing competition. Oh those wacky hunters.

Oh, and cylon guy chokes a bitch too, in this case Sam.

It's going to be one of those episodes.

Also looks like Gramps and Cas are in the same room when someone evil bursts in-bout time those 2 met. I hope Cas sasses him. Bad evil undead Grandpa

Hallowe'en for non-North Americans.

The first rule of Hallowe'en is you do not give out unwrapped candy.

The second rule of Hallowe'en is you do not give out unwrapped candy.

The third rule is that you must carve a jack-o-lantern, regardless of artistic ability.

Fourth rule is that a kid in a white sheet is either a ghost or has parents in the Clan. Be sure which it is before giving candy/beatings.

Fifth rule is that everyone thinks you want to harm their children with poison and/or razors. This worry about stranger danger is 97% crazytown and 3% based on real danger.

We ask that you please be creative when harming other people's children. Consider tripping them, telling them there is no Santa, give out unwrapped candy so that their parents will throw it out on them later.

Sixth rule of Hallowe'en is that candy is SRS BSN. No apples, toothbrushs, floss, or mini Bibles.

Seventh rule of Hallowe'en is the bowl on the porch rule. If some punk dumps the whole bowl in his/her bag the HALLOWE'EN IS RUINED FOREVER! The only way to salvage the holiday is to hunt down said little punk and beat him to within an inch of his life.

Alternately you may sit in the shadows with a rifle keeping ever vigilant against holiday ruiners.

Rule the Eighth-Hallowe'en always falls on the last day of October. None of this first odd numbered day after the full moon bullshit (I'm looking at you Easter), and not November 1st.

Rule number nine-costumes are strongly recommended-even if you are only handing out candy or accompanying young children. Just do it.

The tenth rule of Hallowe'en is that if you break any of the above rules your house, you, your car, and other property will recieve the egging/TP-ing of your life. You have been warned.

Rule Eleven-in some places October 30th is considered Devil's night. You will be egged.

That I am a Pagan,(a BIG one) who never gave up her YA books (or is still reading them, shut up, awesome doesn't age), with an obsession with crime.

To be fair, it's various aspects of forensics I enjoy, not the crime. And female serial killers are just interesting. And those body parts came with the bookcase...

I really need more adult fiction book, Over 80% of my books are reference.

When I have actual income again it's off to the bookstore for me.

I should really organized my books.

Roomie walked in during the beginning of The Vampire Diaries and seemed vaguely interested in the *intense stares of longing* and other assorted CW trademarks. I tried to give her a quick run down of the characters and how they interacted.

It went something like this: "That's Elena and Stephan. He's a vampire, and his maker looks exactly like Elena because they may or may not be related. They're pretending to be broken up because the vampire that made him said she'd kill everyone if he didn't leave his human girlfriend for her (who looks exactly like her). Also Elena's friend Caroline, who was recently accidentally turned into a vampire is working for Stephan's maker, and they know but she doesn't know they know-"

Which is about where she stopped me.

And I'd barely scratched the surface! There's still Werewolves, Witches and the secret society of slayers/town council! DAMON!

I suppose it is a lot to take in if you haven't been watching the show. Still, fun show! Like crack, only without the track marks!

My one complaint is that the write up said it was a night of violence for Mystic Falls; kneecapping a vampire and 2 dead redshirt/deputies does not constitute a night of violence for Mystic Falls. That's Wednesday.

That town sure does go through a lot of deputies. I wonder if the state of Virginia is going to start asking why this one little town has such a high police mortality rate

Supernatural tonight! Apparently CHCH has picked up the show and is airing it at the same time as the CW. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This entry only interesting to people who watch Supernatural, feel free to skip it.

-wheres the Carry on my wayward son? Jesus, Gamble, get your shit together. Actually, other than that HUGE gaffe I dont have any serious complaints.

-so here's some minor complaints: I don't like the girl cousin. I don't want to be that girl, I really do want to like the few female characters the show has, but I don't like her. There's fun/sassy bitch (see:Bella, Ruby, Lilith, Meg, multiple one shot female guest stars) and then there's unfunny, just a mean, unlikable bitch (see girl cousin). Mocking Dean, mocking the magazine on the counter? You just met this distant family member for the first time and that's how you act? You're a guest in his house and you shit on his belongings (metaphorically, because ew)?

I actually like the not really a talker cousin. Jonas Quinn cousin had no lines or personality, or screen time. So no opinion there.

-I may be in the minority here, but I liked the following: Grandpappy Campbell, the Djinn, the storyline, the possum meme that's already started, the new opening shattering glass beginning, the way this could easily become a season long arc, the exposition.

Blaa blaa, more action, blaa. I want information. They can kill shit next week, for now I want answers. I like the Djinn, I like their tattoos, and the way they managed to work in an older show (What is and never should be) but still managed to be accessible to new viewers. I'm pretty sure the female Djinn is someone whose been on the show before, or she's Canadian actress #27 and I know her from every other show to film in Vancouver.

Overall it was pretty good. Not the best episode ever, but given how fucking awesome of the episodes are I wasn't expecting prefection. It was pretty good. I have hope for this season.

Um. Exactly one year ago my university of choice sent me an email (to my school email that I apparently haven't checked in a while) asking if I was going to go to any classes or not, seeing as I accepted their offer of admission. I never registered, I just applied and was accepted.

This was about a week before I fell and caught a nasty case of tumour. I never got the email until yesterday when I cleaned out all the spam that was there.

Do I still respond?

If I do eventually go isn't my whole not answering thing going to look bad? Or is bringing it up and reminding the school the worse of my 2 options? It's been a year! a whole frickin' year!

Ignore or respond, explain and apologize?

Dear Comic Book Store,

Cancelling my subscriptions is certainly within your rights if you feel I haven't been picking up my books as often as you'd like. However a phone call, email, or letter to notify me, or ask if I still wanted to continue my subscription with you would have been a nice touch.

I could have sucked it up if you'd just stop collecting my series, but you took everything in my file and sold it to other people. I'm now out several comics that you no longer have in stock. I have no idea how I'm going to get them (although I'll be giving some of your competitors a look through).

It's getting to be that time if year. The leaves all turn pretty colours, and the air smells like woodsmoke and there are etchings of frost on my windows in the morning. I've busted out all my winter clothes and heavy blankets and curled up in front of the fire. You know what that means.....returning TV shows! Geek edition:

Nikita - *blows raspberry* So much wrong with this show. I seriously doubt it can stand up to my already pathetic standards.

Things I learned from the new Nikita: Crack addicted street kids are all gorgeous. Geeks are ugly. Chemistry, belivability, good writing dont really count if you have skinny pretty people.

Sigh. I miss the good Nikita.

Lost Girl-has potential, a lot of it, actually. This might work. Please don't fuck it up Showcase. Oh who am I kidding, no one watches this show :( It'll be gone before Nikita dies.

Supernatural- So excited. 24th get ~~in my pants~~ here already.

House-I'll watch because it's one of the few shows that my roomie and I watch together (especially now that Rookie Blue is done for the year), but House jumped the shark awhile ago, IMHO.

Vampire Diaries-the crack train is still going strong. I never thought I'd find a show I was more embarassed to admit watching (and defending) than Supernatural. Oh VD, how you've destroyed my dignity, but you made up for it by going by the initials VD.

Tripping the Rift-I can't believe this show is back, fuck yeah inappropriate but geeky humour!

Is there anything else I should be watching, my sheeple?

-saw archnemisis from middle school. Stupid bitch lost a bunch of weight. I'm now on a diet/excersice regime that may last a whole week. Bitchyness is really the only useful weight loss motivator

-the Body Shop has discontinued my favourite moturizing lotion. Damn them. Why is it everytime I find something I like that happens to be pink it's discontinued? Its the Second Cup Tiamo drinks all over again.

-has anyone been to Harveys for a veggie burger lately? Do they taste different to you? Because the one I had at the mall tasted like wet paper.

-the (2 1/2 hour) series finale of M*A*S*H was on today*, as well as several other episodes. As I'm sure you can guess, today was very productive for me.

-made big batch of chili. Delicious, delicious chili.

*owning the entire series has done nothing to deter me from watching it on TV as well. And if you dont like it you can blow it out your ear (oh 50s slang, how I've come to adore you.)

I'm not entirely sure how I got to this page but it's basically the history of menstral absortion technology* in the last 200 years or so

Apparently no one used anything until around WWI. No, seriously, nothing.

There's one part of the story, at that link, where diaries from a turn of the century (1900-ish) factory owner describe how the mill women just let it run. The floor was covered in hay to absorb the mess. When someone suggested the women put a damn cotton cork in it the mothers of those women feared for their daughters marriage prospects.

Here's the worst part, apparently men found the sight and smell of bloody women quite the turn on. It was seen as a sign of fertility.
