In the Behind-the-Scenes audio for The SPIRAL, I say that you could lay out an amazing plan for your dream company in just 10 minutes on the back of a serviette because business is SIMPLE!

I bet you immediately thought…”No, it’s not! There’s so much to do!”

Totally natural.

Your TO DO list is a mile long because you’re straddling multiple worlds at once.

When it comes to your business, your brain prefers the safety, comfort & economy of doing things the old way – the way you’ve been working for years.

This looks like refining and promoting other people’s methods &/or quilting together bits ‘n’ pieces of many skills & techniques you’ve gathered while you valiantly try to stand out in the crowd and build your own remarkable Body of Work.

How’s that going? 😉

Here’s what’s really going on:

You know your current situation like the back of your hand, so they’re few surprises & even fewer brilliant AHA moments in your day to day life. Your brain & body like who you are right now & want to be sure that nothing changes.

If you find yourself putting off making the changes you’d love to make, you’ve got a Binding Belief that you store energy in your system like a bank. Your brain & body firmly believe that transformation sucks energy like a gas-guzzling 70’s station-wagon & who wants to waste energy these days? To safeguard you, your brain does everything it can to make sure you don’t let your reserves dip too low.

So, even though you want/need/desire to do something different in your business, every time you attempt it, you find yourself juggling the low, dense vibes of fear & too many doubting questions along with the sparkling, clear high vibes of your exciting visions & projects.

The draggy, low, worry vibes literally cancel out the lighter, creative ones & you’re left right where you started—wondering what to do next!

You can find yourself saying,

“Designing a new way of doing business is too complicated, so I’ll just focus on my Craft.”

Next thing you know,

you’re diving into some more research,
getting another certification,
heading off for your 6th retreat this year
&/or starting 7 new projects AT THE SAME time
as you try to raise your frequency & get back into flow.

These are all great activities when they’re not steering you away from your dreams!

How to evolve your creative business to match your dreams.

Here are some practices you can start right now to do less & see more progress.

• Start paying attention to what you say - all the time!
  At first this can be a big ask but keep doing it & your personal awareness will increase. Your word is your wand, use it wisely.
  

• Notice when you cancel your new ideas the moment they pop into your head.
  Take a deep breath, sit with them, savour them, allow your brain & nervous system to get to know the possibilities they hold. Record them with care.
  

• Dissolve the belief that you’re energized (or drained) by external forces.
  You are the source of your energy. Our bodies are biological electrical batteries. Honour your body with good quality food, rest, play, air, sunlight & nature and remember that these aren’t GIVING you energy, they’re playing along with you.
  Nothing can drain you (farewell energy vampires!). This is a myth which humans have held onto for so long that it’s threaded through our DNA. Let it go…
  

• Look closely at your business—it really IS simple!
  You offer something to your clients; they pay you for it & you both (ideally) end up with a mutually satisfactory transformation. This goes for selling a painting as well as in-depth mentoring, the mechanics are the same even if the result seems very different. Teach your brain to see business as a fun, easy game.
  

• Admit that you love your Craft because it IS complex, nuanced, multi-layered.
  Your Soul has been directing your attention towards your Craft, day & night, since you were born. Your Craft—whether it’s painting, writing, making with fibre/wood/clay/metal, divination, creating healing environments or providing inspiration & guidance— is worthy of your devotion & courage.

YES, it takes courage to gather your wisdom, skills & experience into a unique framework which only you can birth. To listen to yourself more than others. To stand up & say, “Look, I made this!” even when you don’t know how people will react or if they’ll even notice.

You incarnated to bring something new to those who are seeking it in a way which is laced with your energetic signature & covered in your inimitable finger prints.

Bolstering your courage, enhancing your intuition, untangling your energetic threads, streamlining your efforts & weaving your brilliance into your own pioneering method are just a few of the things we do in The SPIRAL.
