But let us take things from the beginning.

I was at "work" (would be work if I was actually being paid, typically it's more like slavery XD) and I came home at 1.30pm. And what I see plastered in the front door is a post-it-like note from the post office saying that there's a package for me. Now, everyone following me on twitter knows that I've been going crazy waiting for my Kindle order to arrive, so naturally, once I saw the note I was like

OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH IT'S FINALLY HEEEERE

And then I realize that the post office will close in half an hour and I couldn't possibly wait till tomorrow to get it or I would end up in a psychiatric clinic, so I dump all my things at my hallway and with the precious note in hand, I run to the damn building that's in the other side of town, as if Meg's hellhounds were chasing after me (I'm so happy I'm making Supernatural references, imagine that!).

Until the moment I walked in -5 mins before closing I might add- the weather was normal. Simply cold, no rain, no wind, nothing. A few minutes later, precious package in hand, I walk out. And 5 seconds later it begins snowing. Out of the blue. No forecasts said anything about snow, it was completely unexpected.

SO THAT'S THE STORY OF HOW THE UNIVERSE SPOKE TO ME! XD

And under the cut is a picspam of my yet to be named baby ♥

There were "protection" stickers on both sides of the device and I honestly thought that there was another one on the screen with the instructions of how to use it for the first time. I tried to peel if off xD Then I noticed it said that this screen would dissapear once I opened it properly and I was like "Can it be?!" I mean, I've read all about how e-ink screens are like books, but I didn't expect it to be identical to one. This baby pleases its momma from the get-go!

This is the screen that appeared when I followed the instructions on the not-so-sticker sticker, and I suspect it only appears the first time, when the Kindle gets itself ready to be mercilessly used by a book maniac, so I just had to capture the moment LOL

OH YAY, congrats to me for managing to open a device! I feel so accomplished! (The quick start guide was so pretty with the whole typography thing going on, so I had to include it in this spam of crazy!)

OMG all it took was to connect it to my wi-fi network and look! It knows who his/her mom is!
(why does my card always has problems? >_> OH AND LIZ, I KNOW THAT YOU ARE SO JEALOUS I HAVE "FORBIDDEN"! BEING IN GREECE FEELS GOOD FOR ONCE :P)

Another one for octagonal . I opened up that Oxford dictionary it has pre-installed and the first word that came to mind was "twins". (No, ofc I'm not thinking about that trip half the day, are you crazy?!)

Look at that, it has a fancy screensaver! Which is not exactly a screensaver, from what I see the screen never just closes and stays blank, now it has Jules Verne on it. So. Fancy.

That was it, I'm gonna take my crazy and flail elsewhere!
OH and since we're in the books depeartment, a place of generale flail-titude for me lately has been Goodreads! Love it so much I actually became a librarian to help add the (usually lousy) greek editions of books. God forbid I spent my time studying XD

10 Reasons Why LotS Is The Lovechild of LotR And Starwars

Firstly I'd like to say that what's to follow is all in good humor. I'm a huge fan of both LotR and Starwars but LotS has managed to steal my heart in a way no other fandom ever managed to. So I'm not mocking or accusing anyone here, just combining 3 of my favorite things ;)

Just the fact that it is LotS and LotR is enough to prove my point but let's see some specifics LOL

Evil Overlords who want (or have already succeded to) conquer all corners of the world. When the Dark Side discovered cookies (and extremely hot men showing off their forearms), it was the day the Force got all unbalanced from all the people joining it. Get some cookies a little Dark in your name (like Darth Vader and his descentant Darken Rahl) and you are ready to rule with hordes of fangirls behind you!

Old man, white hair, robes and talent in twisting the wrist accordingly. Gandalf and Yoda made one perfect all-powerful wizard, mentor and grandfather of the Seeker (of course they'd have their lovechild bound to the strongest men in the Midlands). I guess they didn't plan the cockblocking part but, oh well, everyone has a weakness.

Forbidden love *fangirl squees mixed with sighs*. Yeah, that's a classic, but you have to admit all forbidden loves in this case are out of the ordinary. The mix of the "lover who loses his soul to the dark side to save his woman" and the "lover who loses her immortality in order to stay with her man" made up for our very own "lover who will lose his soul if he's ever to be with the woman he loves". So an Elf and a Jedi can produce a Confessor? That is something Kahlan should know.

Soooo, if my theory is correct (which is by the way) a wizard and a Jedi/Sith is the same thing in different universes. Same powers, same rules, same place in society and same distinction between good and evil ones. Intresting thing is that a Jedi and wizard lovechild is a wizard. No wonder Jedi are exctinct and the place is thriving with wizards.

Like mother like daughter bitches. Kickass women riding their horses in the same landscape with the bad guys following them and trying to kill them? Check, check. Tell me LotS isn't LotR's lovechild after seing that scene.

The sexy red in the body, the bun and then the braid on the hair? Mordsith are Leia's (and Han's I suppose) daughters gone rogue! And once again like their mother was at the time, they're slaves of the bad guy. Is it in evil lord handbook to dress up their women like that or what?

Virgin white. Arwen and Leia are far from virgin, but their lovechild unfortunately seems to follow her dresse's steps. Still, all three are awesome sause dressed in white dresses (and their hair being the talk of the movie/show), trying to mislead their stupid enemies that they're all harmless maidens who all they do is wash their clothes (cause srsly how does all that white stay that way??). And of course they established the white-dresses-are-royalty-only rule.

If nothing else that proves the lovechild theory. Especially if we take into account that originally Darken Rahl turned out to be Richard's dad just as Darth Vader was Luke's. But brother is okay too. Being related to the bad guy is the family's franchise.

Duh, in both LotS and LotR the weapon makes the man or something like that. Aragorn can control a huge army of undead just by bearing it (whatever dude) and Richard puts his anger (of not being able to bang Kahlan) into good use by channeling it through his sword. Oh and he fights with the power of many. I guess it's an upgrade from the "Undead" feature.

The fact that Anakin aka Darth Vader is related to Richard and so Richard is related to Luke is kinda disturbing, but most certainly true, since Anakin's destiny of being the one who would bring balance to the force passed on to Richard who is the one true Seeker, and does all that "one" makes you think of Matrix too? Maybe it's the uncle or something. And anyway, both Anakin and Richard are "cursed" to be part of prophecies about all those special things they're supposed to do. Which means that maybe Richard will go Dark Side too! Yeah, yeah I wish LOL

So thanks to legendland for having this challenge and motivating me enough to go through with the picspam. JOIN NOW PPL! And ask for Team Denna if you do, we're totaly gonna rule the Midlands in this battle LOL

So all the world is about how AWESOME firefox is and laughs at me for being in love with my VERY EASY TO USE AND NEVER PROBLEMATIC ENOUGH TO PISS ME OFF Internet Exlorer.

So I said, what the hell, let's try out using only firefox for a week and see how it goes. It didn't even lasted one fucking day!

The default search engine after I installed some of the plugins I need to have was set to yahoo. For 4 hours I was trying to set it back to Google and the stupid thing just wouldn't do it! I've followed the official instuctions, every other webmasters' tutorials I could find and the search engine was still yahoo! Damn I changed everything with yahoo in it from about:config to the google equivalent and when I opened a new tab to test it, the values changed back to yahoo by themselves!
So in the end I had to deactivate some of the plugins I use daily for the search engine to FINALLY return to being Google.

Explorer rocks and firefox has lost me forever *tries to calm down*

I'm afraid the whole infidelity thing with Naley is "soooo last year, it was like 2 years ago" (Brooke-quote-related pun fully intented LOL) but I suspect it's gonna be a quite different storyline than nanny Carrie, so I'll form an opinion later on.
I'm not happy for OTH having another season and for the way things have gone after the 4th season that should be the last, but all things considered, and especially the fact that I had given up OTH, the premiere made me a little bit interested in watching it again.

There were times I said that I would be happy if they gave Vanessa a storyline of her own so that she would stop messing up my fav couples lifes. Those times are way past. She needs to leave. I can't watch 30 minutes of her giving speeches about morality when she is the most immoral, manipulating and two-faced bitch on TV. And WTF stylist, couldn't you lose the heels? Scott is like a head shorter than her and it's even grosser than it should.
Nate... No idea how he and Bree came to be, no interest whatsoever to find out. NJ rest in peace.
Serena... I think she's the second most hated character after the troll. I don't think her father would like to be assosiated with a daughter he doesn't even know and sees (almost)naked/kissing random guys/wild partying/drinking in gossip magazines. Perhaps acting non-slutty would give her more chances.

I just knew it.
Chuck-Blair=EPIC FAIL!
They were my only hope after the Nate/Jenny drama. The only reason to watch Gossip Girl.
They took the most awesomely absurd couple of the decay and ruined it. I found their scenes boring. No real sparkle like in the previous seasons.
I'm so dissapointed I could cry, but I won't cause it's just a TV-show and if I do everyone's gonna say I have to get a real life and that I'm dangerously obsessed with fictional characters.
Well excuse me for being UTTERLY DISSAPOINTED over what I thought would be my Mondays's entertainment.

The only shows I think won't dissapoint me are The Vampire Diaries, Dollhouse and Bones.
Bones... Would it start already? After all the fucked up premieres I had I think I need some cheering up. Who's better than B&B to do that? LOL

So that's a quite spoilerish post about Darkfever & Bloodfever books and Supernatural 5x01

I'm SO glad Jen (x_jenzy_x) wrote all those entries about the Fever series and got me curious, cause those books are AMAZING! Next best thing I've read after the TrueBlood novels. And even better in some aspects I might say.
I am a supernatural-whore so the whole Fae thing is exactly the kind of plot I like in my novels, and needless say that Mac & Jericho are the new literature OTP. They kinda remind me of Ron & Hermione who were my first ship/OTP ever; they are partners in crime, supposendly can't stand each other and have feelings for each other they'd rather deny. Right now I'm a few pages after the EPIC punch-and-kiss scene at the end of the Bloodfever and I'm just hoping they'd get it on already, if the kissing part was so hot and intense, I can't even imagine what the other thing will be like LOL. And WTF ppl, where the fuck do you see a triange with Mac, Jericho & V'lane? When I read the "Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men" I thought V'lane would be a real challenge Mac & Jericho would have to overcome, but he hardly had any impact on them, so that's a totally false alarm (unless something happens in the last 20 pages :P)
Anyway, I read each book in one day, so you can tell how much I enjoyed them, I unconditionally reccomend them :)

Supernatural is my top show ever since Jenny & Nate got screwed up in Gossip Girl.
I am utterly dissapointed by the new season's premiere.
The next episode looks very promising, since Jo is FINALLY back and demon!Jo looks sexy as hell, and it's gonna be great if they don't kill her off, which could be a possible reason for her return; bring her back-satisfy the fans than liked her and asked for it, kill her off in a highly dramatic, tear-causing scene-subtly tell the fans to fuck off, there's nothing they can do now.
Back to the 1st episode, it was quite boring I have to say. I never watch Supernatural in the fast-forward method, no matter how dull the episode might be, but I really wanted to skip some scenes in that one. emo!Sam is getting on my nerves, dude you fucked up, you betrayed Dean for an evil whore of Satan (TrueBlood related pun intented LOL), Dean OBVIOUSLY doesn't want to talk about it, move on! Get a diary or sth to express your pain, I have no interest in hearing it over and over again.
Dean... You just save the show. The whole reaction to you're-Michael's-vessel was EPIC. The only other scenes I liked was the last one were Sam was PWNED when Dean said he didn't trust him (he was just asking for it) and the one Lucifer tries to convince his vessel to accept him. I really felt sympathy for the devil the way he presented facts LMAO. The new Meg was weird. I preffered the original blondie better. And I miss Ruby, a good bitch is always necessary *sighs*

So that was today's fandom rambling, next one is propably gonna be for TrueBlood's finale. I need some Eric ASAP LMAO

Vampire ramblings

I'm both happy and pissed right now.
I finally saw Moonlight and it just instantly grew on me. I love it way more than Twilight that's for sure. So I'm happy because I had a great time watching the whole season 3 times (with the non-fast-forward method! WOW or what? LOL), and ofc I'm pissed they cancelled it.
At least they had the dignity to give it an acceptable ending. Leaving us hanging for a second season that would never come would be far more worse. Now we got some form of completion to the story (not really, but the more times I say that the more I'll come to believe it :P)

I really liked Coraline, she was the perfect bad-ass for this story but I think I liked Mich-Beth way more than Marta would approve of LOL.
Sorry bb, I just shipped them from moment one, not my fault, my dysfunctional's brain.
In some pics I'd seen, Alex O' Loughlin looked kinda ugly, that's why i postponed watching the show till now. But when I begun to watch I realised I'd propably seen his worst pics or sth cause he was totally worth watching LOL. He's not hot in the Chace Crawford kind of way, but I think he's very attractive and masculine. And now I stop before I start the drooling.
Sophia Myles really surprised me in Tristan & Isolde so I had a soft spot for her and didn't find Beth as irritating as Marta said she would be (I must be a total disapointment to you LMAO)

The whole vampire-human love thing was way more realistic and well-handled thatn Twilight, that's why I prefer Moonlight. They had the right amount of it's-dangerous-we-can't-do-it and what-the-hell-let's-make-out scenes. It wasn't all this every-touch-of-me-can-kill-you Twilight drama and it wasn't the whole I-just-met-you-let's-have-sex True Blood thing either. They had a balance and it just felt right.

And apart from Mick/Beth I also love the song Together by The Kin that I discovered thanks to the show.
I just can't understand why they would cancel a show that has quite a fanbase and was voted "Best TV's new drama". CBS has like 10 different CSI versions and they couldn't keep Moonlight. I think the only problem was that this network has like 10 detective-drama shows and it was just our luck to let this one go.

Anyway, it was really awesome and way better than many shows that were given a second, and third and etc chance, and it was very promising for multiple seasons. At least I got my Mick/Beth happy ending and the rest can be found at fanfiction LOL.

And since I'm having like a top-secret project about vampires-appeal to modern culture (ROTFL I know!), I started downloading Buffy, to see what all this fuss is about :P. I don't really like Michelle whatever, but as long as there's a little David Boreanaz in there I think I can cope. And then I'll see Angel to have another one drooling session LOL.

Oh and to stop Marta for lecturing me over liking the wrong things in Moonlight, I begun the cropping of True Blood in order to gather all the Pam/Eric/(and now)Sophie Anne scenes. I think I'll have part one ready by Monday *dirty winks*

Okay the non-eric/pam/sophie-anne scenes were dull to death, but just for the scenes of those three the episode was totally worth watching (with my famous fast-forward method ofc lol).
To tell the truth I'm not one of Sophie-Anne's greatest fans as far as the books are considered, but she kicks ass in the show! And she's so much prettier than Ssssoukehh (isn't it just ANNOYING the way Bill calls her?) so you enjoy watching her scenes more than Sookie's.

Sophie-Anne: Well, it seems your friend Mr Northman is here.
Bill: Then it's definately time for me to go.
Sophie-Anne: This alpha-male posturing... You two really should just fuck each other and get it over with. I could watch.

And to make a good thing better, Eric FINALLY showed us his aviator skills LMAO. Ever since I read the books I'd been dying to see him fly and now he did *dances*. I'm waiting for even more of his flying in S3 *glares at writers*.

And how can someone not like Pam and especially the Pam/Eric interraction?

Sam: I need your help. We need it. And hopefully someday I might be able to give you something you need.
Eric: Can you give me Sookie Stackhouse?
Pam:

Okay, if merry who logs in once a year changed her layout and stuff, it's about time for me to do the same. I have the same moodtheme, layout and profile since summer. And that is unexpectable for a regular LJ-er like mysel *lol* *evil laughs at merry*

So thanks to minty_peach -once again- I changed my layout. And thanks to lolaboxx I changed my profile. Being a little more experienced with CSS that I used to be some months ago I made a lot of changes to both codes, I hope I didn't made them totally stupid-looking. And I decided to reduce my profile length and style, I guess it's better this way.

I also changed my moodtheme which was the same from the first day I made my LJ. Sorry MiSa but I got over you. Hello Robert! I hope I'll never get over you.
I actually found a way to make a custom moodtheme in about 5 mins instead of makingit manually for more than half an hour. It seems that even LJ has it's little secrets :P

And recently I changed my header and my whole icons set. If you ever get so bored as to check any of all those "updates" let me know what you think :)

I guess that's all for know, I have so many things happening in my personal life that I don't even know how to start writing them down, so I'll pass this time.
