But let us take things from the beginning.
I was at "work" (would be work if I was actually being paid, typically it's more like slavery XD) and I came home at 1.30pm. And what I see plastered in the front door is a post-it-like note from the post office saying that there's a package for me. Now, everyone following me on twitter knows that I've been going crazy waiting for my Kindle order to arrive, so naturally, once I saw the note I was like
OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH IT'S FINALLY HEEEERE
And then I realize that the post office will close in half an hour and I couldn't possibly wait till tomorrow to get it or I would end up in a psychiatric clinic, so I dump all my things at my hallway and with the precious note in hand, I run to the damn building that's in the other side of town, as if Meg's hellhounds were chasing after me (I'm so happy I'm making Supernatural references, imagine that!).
Until the moment I walked in -5 mins before closing I might add- the weather was normal. Simply cold, no rain, no wind, nothing. A few minutes later, precious package in hand, I walk out. And 5 seconds later it begins snowing. Out of the blue. No forecasts said anything about snow, it was completely unexpected.
SO THAT'S THE STORY OF HOW THE UNIVERSE SPOKE TO ME! XD
And under the cut is a picspam of my yet to be named baby ♥
There were "protection" stickers on both sides of the device and I honestly thought that there was another one on the screen with the instructions of how to use it for the first time. I tried to peel if off xD Then I noticed it said that this screen would dissapear once I opened it properly and I was like "Can it be?!" I mean, I've read all about how e-ink screens are like books, but I didn't expect it to be identical to one. This baby pleases its momma from the get-go!
This is the screen that appeared when I followed the instructions on the not-so-sticker sticker, and I suspect it only appears the first time, when the Kindle gets itself ready to be mercilessly used by a book maniac, so I just had to capture the moment LOL
OH YAY, congrats to me for managing to open a device! I feel so accomplished! (The quick start guide was so pretty with the whole typography thing going on, so I had to include it in this spam of crazy!)
OMG all it took was to connect it to my wi-fi network and look! It knows who his/her mom is!
(why does my card always has problems? >_> OH AND LIZ, I KNOW THAT YOU ARE SO JEALOUS I HAVE "FORBIDDEN"! BEING IN GREECE FEELS GOOD FOR ONCE :P)

octagonal . I opened up that Oxford dictionary it has pre-installed and the first word that came to mind was "twins". (No, ofc I'm not thinking about that trip half the day, are you crazy?!)
Look at that, it has a fancy screensaver! Which is not exactly a screensaver, from what I see the screen never just closes and stays blank, now it has Jules Verne on it. So. Fancy.
That was it, I'm gonna take my crazy and flail elsewhere!
OH and since we're in the books depeartment, a place of generale flail-titude for me lately has been Goodreads! Love it so much I actually became a librarian to help add the (usually lousy) greek editions of books. God forbid I spent my time studying XD
So if any of you also have an account there, feel free to add me, I love to know what people I have common stuff with are reading, so I can ~steal your highly-rated books and put them on my to-read list ;P
