Protect Our Wilderness

Take Action

Every Letter Counts.

Because every letter gets read and registered. That's how our government works.

We know, because we've helped create 23 parks and protected areas in Manitoba. With your help, we hope to achieve our long-term goal of protecting half our wild spaces.

Join the over 120, 000 people who have signed our campaigns to show their support of Manitoba protected spaces.

Manitoba currently protects 11% of our province. CPAWS Manitoba is working on campaigns that would more than double the healthy lands and waters we conserve for future generations of people and wildlife.

Help Protect

Manitoba's Lands and Waters

Clean water, healthy forests, and thriving wildlife are essential to our way of life, now and for future generations. That’s why we’re working to help protect 30% of Manitoba’s lands and waters by 2030. Reaching this goal is one of the most effective ways we can fight climate change, safeguard biodiversity, and ensure Manitoba remains a healthy, thriving place for people and nature alike.

Help Protect

Hudson Bay

This extraordinary marine region supports a third of the world’s beluga whales and provides critical habitat for polar bears. But Hudson Bay is warming rapidly, with sea ice disappearing faster here than anywhere else in the Arctic. That’s why we’re working to protect this vital ecosystem, supporting efforts to establish a National Marine Conservation Area that will help safeguard wildlife, sustain coastal communities, and honour cultural traditions for generations to come.

Help Protect the

Interlake

Fisher River Cree Nation, Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation, Peguis First Nation, and CPAWS Manitoba are working together to protect the forests, lakes, and wetlands that define the Southeast Interlake region. We’re proud to support this Indigenous-led conservation initiative: an inspiring example of communities uniting to safeguard nature, strengthen cultural connections, and ensure this special region is healthy for generations to come.

Help Protect

Hudson Bay Lowlands

The Hudson Bay Lowlands are one of the largest intact peatland ecosystems on Earth, storing billions of tonnes of carbon. These lands help fight climate change and support biodiversity. That’s why we support Kitaskeenan Kaweekanawaynichikatek, an Indigenous-led effort to protect this vital region. Safeguarding this land is essential to preserving nature, culture, and climate for future generations.

Help Protect the

Seal River

The Seal River Watershed is one of the last great intact natural places left in the world. It’s home to vibrant cultures and thriving wildlife, and it’s free from industrial development. Four First Nations are leading the effort to protect the entire watershed as an Indigenous Protected Areas. We’re closer than ever, but we need to keep the momentum going.

Help Protect

Assiniboine Forest

Meet the largest urban forest in Canada with 711 acres of aspen and oak forest, restored tall-grass prairie and wetlands. It is home to white-tailed deer, coyote, songbirds, nesting waterfowl, and 256 species of plants. However, the forest needs to be protected from development. Help this forest become a National Urban Park, to protect the land for future generations.
