We have a quiz at the end of each course that allows people to get certified on that aspect of the software. The last two courses in our membership didn&#x2019;t get completed for a couple of years.&#xA0; I planned the content of the courses out in a spreadsheet at first.<\/p>\n<p>I know the high-level structure I wanted with the Executive Overview, Training, and other modules.&#xA0; Then I broke down the Training module into the individual lessons that made sense.&#xA0; And I bullet-pointed out in the spreadsheet the key learnings for each lesson.<\/p>\n<p>Once it was all organized in a spreadsheet I <a href=\"https:\/\/coursemethod.com\/tool-powerpoint.html\">created a PowerPoint<\/a> template that I could use for all the lessons and started filling in the blanks.&#xA0; I actually use Keynote (on a Mac) instead of PowerPoint.&#xA0; Keynote has a built-in recording feature.&#xA0; So, I just recorded the lessons right on my Mac and then uploaded them into our membership platform.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tell_us_a_little_about_the_process_of_launching_your_course_and_getting_your_first_sales\"><\/span>Tell us a little about the process of launching your course and getting your first sale(s).<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As I mentioned before, we first offered our course at a live event where many people from our industry were gathered.&#xA0; That was nice because we were able to get a large number of people in all at once.&#xA0; We also have an extensive email list that we promoted to at the same time.&#xA0; We offered a small discount and some bonus content to all the people who signed up in that first group.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Do_you_have_a_lead_magnet\"><\/span>Do you have a lead magnet?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We have a handful of different lead magnets we use to capture leads and then nurture them before promoting the course.&#xA0; We initially started with partners (Affiliates) in the <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"sponsored\" title=\"Keap\/Infusionsoft\" href=\"https:\/\/coursemethod.com\/go\/keap-infusionsoft\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Keap<\/a> space who also have customers that are Keap users.&#xA0; Those partners promote our lead magnets (and sometimes our offers) to their audiences and we pay them a commission.<\/p>\n<p>We&#x2019;ve had a long-standing presence at industry events, particularly <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"sponsored\" title=\"Keap\/Infusionsoft\" href=\"https:\/\/coursemethod.com\/go\/keap-infusionsoft\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Keap<\/a>&#x2019;s annual user conference.&#xA0; Those live events have provided good leads for us as people come to our booth and hear us speak on stage.&#xA0; Lastly, Facebook Ads are helpful as well.&#xA0; The key is the start with a small budget and stay hyper-targeted to your best audience.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_online_course_platform_are_you_using\"><\/span>What online course platform are you using?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We use <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"sponsored\" title=\"LearnDash affiliate program\" href=\"https:\/\/coursemethod.com\/go\/learndash\" data-shortcode=\"true\">LearnDash<\/a> to manage our courses and we love it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Are_there_any_features_you_wish_it_had\"><\/span>Are there any features you wish it had?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I wish there was better back-end management of assignments.&#xA0; That stability has provided a bit of revenue cushion at times when the agency side of the business was suffering and has provided extra income personally when things are going well.&#xA0; So, it&#x2019;s been really nice to have.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"In_addition_to_revenue_are_there_any_numbers_you_would_like_to_share\"><\/span>In addition to revenue are there any numbers you would like to share?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One thing we&#x2019;ve done as a Black Friday promotion is to offer lifetime access to the membership (which is normally $97\/month).&#xA0; Those promotions have consistently generated around $50k in a 5-day span.<\/p>\n<span class='bctt-click-to-tweet'><span class='bctt-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcoursemethod.com%2Ftyler-garns.html&#038;text=One%20thing%20you%20learn%20over%20time%20is%20that%20as%20long%20as%20you%E2%80%99re%20continually%20promoting%20your%20courses%2C%20there%20are%20always%20people%20out%20there%20who%20are%20wanting%20them.%20%20For%20whatever%20reason%2C%20they%20just%20haven%E2%80%99t%20purchased%20yet.%20-Tyler%20Garns&#038;via=course_method&#038;related=course_method' target='_blank'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One thing you learn over time is that as long as you&#x2019;re continually promoting your courses, there are always people out there who are wanting them.
