I'm very happy that Obama won... (Even if it means the next season of American Dad won't be as awesome as it could be.)
The main question is can he actually achieve what he said he's going to do? I personally don't think he'll be able to manage it in his first term unless he can manage to overcome a fillibuster ('talking' about the bill until it runs out of time to be passed for those of you who don't care/know/study politics. Tbh I don't understand the filibuster thing myself but meh)
I also think that people are expecting more change than will be deliver in the time frame expected.
Remember that America is the capitalist country of the world... the fact that they call the idea of creating a universal health service as a "socialist" notion proves that and I find it very unlikely that it will be easy to pass, and god forbid he has to raise taxes to do it. Not just on the rich but on the not-so rich as well.
I think he's really popular now but as Blair did here in 1997 he'll end up losing support as reality settles in and the fact that a change of government doesn't right the world in the space of a few months.

Then again I'm pessimistic. I do think he'll probably manage to get a second term unless he hugely messes up though. I just really, really doubt he'll be able to make all the changes he promised in a country that is like America.

I had forgotten exactly how bitchy and childishly attention-whoring the lovely anime/manga/jpop/etc. community can be, especially when dealing with American fans...
However a member (or ex-member since they're now banned) of the vampire_knight community has completely reminded me.
I don't generally care much if someone takes a bitchy tone in a comment left to me, however it does annoy me a bit if they do it in my own journal (okay, my old one not this one but still) and they do it anonymously and they have previously been given a warning following a complain by another member of the community about continued harrassment.
To then go on to call me "blind", "a dumb selfish twat" and to tell me to "fuck off" and accuse me of harrassing them by leaving a comment in their journal about their comment in mine is one way to ensure that you're banned from my community while giving me hours of enjoyment at your expense of exactly how sad and pathetic you are while trying to figure out whether you're about 10 years old or simply a little bit 'special'. Great fun.

However, anyway, yes, this incident has reminded me of exactly why I stopped looking on anime/manga/jpop forums and such outside of the BAC forum. While they may be generally full of nice enough people too large a minority for me to care for is made up entirely of arrogant assholes who need to do something other than spend their lives bitching on the internet, it is pointless.

In other news I went to the Crown Court today with my law class. We only watched one case, however it was quite interesting (when I wasn't outside coughing my head off) and resulted in the case being thrown out because the evidence pointed to the complainant being more guilty than the defendant for the ABH. We actually spoke briefly to the defendent and his family afterwards (we were in the same lift and they spoke to us first) and they seemed quite nice, I felt sorry for the guy having been charged with that since from the evidence heard it was quite clear he did not start the fight and shouldln't have been prosecuted.
But yes, if you enjoy looking in on other people's misfortune then the Crown Court is a fun enough day out. Just be sure not to take cameras, turn off your phone and not leave the court room while the judge is speaking or you could possibly be imprisoned for a month for contempt of court... I do wonder if one of my ever giggly classmates got in trouble... Okay... I'm not that evil.

In other news I am busy looking for another job in Portsmouth as I can't fully afford to stay there with only my current job. Also keeping an eye out for Ben as well since he really needs a job.
Speaking of which did I mention that Ben has his moments of being the sweetest person in the world when he doesn't intend to be? Not that he knows why I'm saying this, nor will I share it with him or anyone else, he just is.

Hmm, yesterday was a good day. For the most part anyway.
I now only have to watch episode 9 and then I'll be up to date. (I'm too lazy to download it at the moment.)
Didn't watch Yakitate Japan because I had a coughing fit during it. I may watch it later today though.

Poor Tracy missed her bus yesterday... three times. Well, the third time she didn't miss it, it drove past us without stopping. The joys of First Bus. The BEST bus company in the universe. -_-;

Anyway, it poured yesterday and I umm... got myself soaked in the rain... I don't think I'll get a cold as payment this time though... at least, not at the moment. That might change if I have a sore throat tomorrow.
Also we ended up running a long winded but sheltered route to get to back into town to then go wait in Subway. That was fun. Even if I was in no mood to run anywhere.

Somehow I managed to bruise my right leg, so now I know why that one was sore when I got home. (I think it was my bag. On the other hand there wasn't really anything in it that could bruise me... *shrug* Odd.

When I got home I was tired and sore (my shows gave me blisters -_-; I don't know why because they usually don't. I should of worn my other ones though.) as for the second night running I didn't sleep all night due to coughing, which is probably why looking back at last night I got quite annoyed at Dunbar (Okay, very aggravated and blocked him for nearly no reason...) on the other hand he started getting pissy first. I apologised to him in the end though... after unblocking him.

On another note... I need a pair of proper shoes but I keep on finding that all of the shoes I like that aren't New Rocks or oversized Gordon Jacks happen to have 3 or higher soles...

Didn't sleep last night. I tried but I ended up coughing through most of it and couldn't sleep.
I did manage to sleep at about nine in the morning until half six in the evening though.
Of course, I'm still tired but I probably won't be later...

Minka's forcing me to go to club tomorrow even though I don't really feel like it. It's gonna be sunny and hot and I'm gonna have to walk up that infernal hill and I don't want to do that.
¬_¬ this coughing is driving me crazy and I seem to be running out of breath from walking up the stairs... there are only 14 stairs in my house!
Nana seems to be worried it's a sign of Asthema... I'm hoping that I'm too old for it to show up. Ben's just crushed that hope by telling me his sister was given stuff for it when she was 15 though. Asthema doesn't run in my family though. Except Minka is on an inhaler... and has been for over half a year now and the doctor hasn't taken her off it yet even though she said it would probably only be for about three months... and they're worried about my mother... but I have never shown ANY signs of it in the past.

I'm gonna see our useless doctors about it anyway though.

On another note... two weeks until I go to london again! ^_^ (I haven't gone since october.)

I'm really, really going to go insane.

I am so, so very frustrated at the moment. I don't know what the heck is the problem but I really, really want to go out on one hand and then I want to become a hermit and never go out again on the other hand and atm I appear to only be able to listen to Ska and anything else makes me want to smash the speakers.
The irony of it is is ska generally sounds happy and upbeat, whereas my mood is the exact opposite.

I know the prime source of my frustration. But I can't do anything about it so I should work on calming down.
Another reason for it is because there is nothing for me to do for ages.

I think I might shower then go outside for an hour or two then play Dancing Stage.

EDIT: It's amazing how talking about random stuff to some people and listening to various Kemuri songs can lighten anyone's mood.
