Thank you for joining us this week as we at the Baptist World Alliance pray for our global Baptist family and for God's work around the world. If you pray along with us weekly, you will pray for every country in the world in 2026.

Praises and prayer requests listed for each country are provided by local BWA member partners when possible. Statistics provided are reflective of latest data received.

  • 4,500 Members

Cristina Arcidiacono (pictured far right) of Italy served on a panel at the 9th Baptist International Conference on Theological Education.

Praise:

We praise God for the ongoing commitment of our churches to witness through diaconal service, advocacy, and solidarity with the most vulnerable, even in a challenging social and economic context.

Prayer:

We ask for prayer for our country in the face of increasing social fragility: the rise in poverty, the growing number of people experiencing homelessness (with 414 people having died on the streets in Italy in 2025), and the widespread economic insecurity affecting many families. We ask for prayer for the growth of our churches and for new pastoral vocations – that God may call, form, and sustain women and men for ministry, and grant wisdom, courage, and hope to those serving in pastoral leadership.

Prayer:

Join us in prayer for the Union's "15 for 30" project, which is focused on reaching the 15 Spanish provinces that have not yet been reached.

Please join us also in prayer for the people of Andorra, Malta, San Marino, and Vatican City.

Last week BWA General Secretary and CEO Elijah Brown and BWA Team Member Orel Rhodes were honored to serve in Mexico. They gathered with pastors and ministry leaders from across the country to share the vision of the Acts 2 Movement and to engage in meaningful dialogue about deepening collaboration for Gospel witness and compassionate ministry. During their visit, they toured Hospital México Americano, witnessing firsthand the excellence of its medical facilities and its significant impact on the surrounding community.

General Secretary Brown also had the opportunity to preach and to encourage executive leadership as they continue their faithful service to Christ. Join us in giving thanks for the warm welcome extended to the BWA family and in praying for God’s continued blessing on the ministry of our sisters and brothers in Mexico.

Standing in Prayer with Madagascar

Last week a powerful cyclone tore across Madagascar, claiming lives, displacing families, and leaving widespread destruction in its wake. Communities already facing economic hardship are now confronting damaged homes, flooded villages, destroyed crops, and limited access to clean water. Please join us in prayer...

  • For the families who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. Pray they would experience God’s comfort, provision, and peace in the midst of grief and uncertainty.
  • For safe shelter, clean water, food, and medical care to reach affected communities quickly and efficiently.
  • For Baptist World Aid team members, All Africa Baptist Fellowship leaders, and local Baptist ministers and members as they assess damage, coordinate relief efforts, and provide pastoral care. Pray they would have wisdom, strength, and protection.
  • For children and vulnerable individuals impacted by the cyclone. Pray they would be safeguarded from further harm and surrounded by compassionate support.
  • For long-term recovery and rebuilding. Pray that communities would not only be restored physically but strengthened spiritually through the hope of Christ.

A Humble Prayer

Here am I before you, O my God.

Here am I, rich in misery and poverty,

and a cowardice without name.

Here am I before you, who are nothing but love and mercy.

Before you, but by your grace alone,

I am here, all of me,

with all my spirit, all my heart, all my will.
