Regional Coaching Education Event

We would like to take this time to introduce to you a new coach education initiative led by PDP technical staff - Benjamin Ziemer, Justin Selander, and Jovan Yamagishi. We will be starting a new program where we bring to you the U8-U12 coaching methodology that addresses the importance of teaching age specific characteristics, fundamental concepts and principles of the game for these players using the T2P2 - technical, tactical, personality, and physical development framework. It will also touch upon an effective training environment and provide a simple training plan often used at the regional Player Development Program (PDP) setting.

Our next coaching clinic will be in Region 3/4 on Thursday, January 29th from 5-8pm at Stanford Medical Sports Complex, West field, thanks to the collaboration of Ballistic United Soccer Club.

Address:

7001 Pleasanton Ave

Pleasanton, CA 94566

This is open to all Region 3/4 club directors and coaches, especially toward your grassroots U8-U12 coaching staff as well as any keen recreational coaches.

Primary focus is on:

  • Effective Training Principles
  • Progression of the stages of the training
  • Content - teaching aims - exercises
  • Players qualities and behavior
  • Coaches qualities and behavior

Schedule will be:

5:00 PM - 5:15 PM - Pre-Training Introduction

5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Field Training #1

6:30 PM - 7:45 PM Field Training #2

7:45 PM - 8:00 PM - Q&A

We are hoping that this will be one of many free U8-U12 coaching education programs to come from us as we feel these are the age groups that need the most attention to kickstart their love and joy for the game, while nurturing proper technique with and without the ball. We hope you will join us, even if it is for part of the time, and do send this information on to the rest of your coaches in your club please. We understand that it may be another night of training at your club, but hopefully you can see the benefit in your coaches attending this event to feel stimulated and gain valuable knowledge from the instructors from the PDP technical staff.
