Greetings,
As the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) closes out the third quarter of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, I am filled with appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding dedication of the Center’s teams and partners. We continue to thrive as a global leader in conventions, trade shows and events, providing significant economic value to the Orange County region, while simultaneously delivering exceptional experiences for every guest and client who enters our doors.
From April to June, the OCCC successfully hosted 54 events, welcoming more than 440,000 attendees and generating an estimated $1 billion in economic impact for the Central Florida region. Among the many impactful events this quarter, the Allstar World Cheerleading Championships were held at the OCCC in April with more than 70,000 cheer athletes, coaches, parents and spectators – creating a $177.5 million economic impact. Premiere Orlando returned with nearly 50,000 attendees, generating $126.8 million in economic impact; and closing out the third quarter, the OCCC hosted InfoComm, attracting more than 44,000 attendees generating $111.9 million in estimated economic contribution to the region.
Looking ahead, the OCCC’s Grand Concourse Expansion remains a top priority in preparing the facility for continued long-term success. The team recently completed a thorough value engineering process, strategically identifying cost savings while preserving the expansion’s program, quality and functionality. The much-anticipated groundbreaking for the expansion is scheduled for December 2025, with construction anticipated to start in early 2026. This important project represents a bold investment in the future of our community and ensures the OCCC remains a leader for global meetings and events.
