"...living a tortured life in the center of a wealthy country, to which they contribute, is an unacceptable paradox, which DREAMERS points out in the clearest way."
Modern Times Review

Young undocumented people in the USA are called Dreamers. Carlos is one of them. At the age of 9, Carlos arrives from Mexico to Chicago with his three brothers and his parents. The day he turns 18, his future becomes uncertain. According to US law, Carlos is now undocumented. The slightest mistake can lead him to deportation. From defeats to successes, Dreamers tells the story of Carlos—now 38 years old—his brothers, and the fate of 2.5 million people growing up in a country that still does not recognize them as its own.
Carlos has never been able to leave the city where he went to school and now works, coaches a soccer team, and pays his taxes, because he is still undocumented. He leads a discreet life, trying never to make a mistake, out of fear of being deported. Meanwhile, his family are still struggling to cope with the emotional devastation they experienced after Carlos’ brother was sent back across the border.
