Oversight and accountability
Thanks to our fiscal agent Merced College for taking the lead on submitting our regions monthly reports to the State. Our regional convener hosted the initial meeting with the budget committee on May 30th. The budget committee is made up of individuals who want to help shape our vision for our budget. The purpose of this group is to review and provide guidance on the proposed budget, as well as to improve the transparency and readability of the budget document before it goes to for approval. Our we are grateful to those who have volunteered to serve in this committee. Thank you to Steve Russo, Moses Zapien and Perfecto Munoz for your participation and feedback in our first meeting this week.
If you are interested in serving on this committee, please reach out to Rocci Jackson at rocci@northvalleythrive.org.
Stakeholder Mapping and Community Engagement
During the first phase of this work (June-August 2023), the County Coordinators will work within their respective communities to connect with neighborhoods and populations that have traditionally faced disinvestment, marginalization, and negative economic outcomes. The coordinators will engage with community and faith-based organizations, schools, neighborhood groups, coalitions, youth programs, and more to help inform residents of this initiative and invite them to participate by sharing their priorities, life experiences, and values in Stakeholder Meetings. This information will be embedded into the project development and prioritization process of this initiative.
