From Seth Schalet, Santa Clara County FireSafe Council CEO
Since our last update, we convened the CWPP Advisory Team for two full days of meeting in early April. We had over 36 attendees and the meetings were very productive. On day two, we had several annex holders come back to meet with us regarding specific questions they had on their annex. I want to thank Chief Ed Orre–Division Chief, Resource Management, Santa Clara Unit; Eugenia Rendler–Programs, Planning & Grant Manager, Los Altos Hills County Fire District; and Chief Mike Mathiesen–Battalion Chief, Pre Fire Management & Wildfire Resilience, Information & Public Affairs with the Santa Clara County Fire Department, for making themselves available both days and especially on day two to working with our annex holders helping to address their questions.
Thank you to all of our CWPP Advisory Board members for giving your valuable time and input on this effort. You have ensured we will have the best document possible—thank you. Also, we hope to have our Story Map up and running by June.
All in all, we continue to make progress and as of this writing, we are targeting Monday, June 19th through Sunday, July 2nd, for our CWPP public comment period where the public can provide feedback and input into the CWPP draft. Stay tuned for more on this in the coming weeks as we outreach to the public to solicit their input. More to follow.
Best Regards,
Seth
