U.S. Toy Industry Sales Spike 27% During the First 4 Months of 2021
The U.S. toy industry growth is showing no signs of slowing down. Total U.S. sales increased 27% in the first four months of 2021, a $1.5 billion increase over the January-April period last year, according to The NPD Group. Disguise Debuts Ghostbusters Mini Stay Puft Costumes, Classic Accessories
This year, Disguise — the Halloween division of Jakks Pacific — is rolling out a full assortment of costumes, accessories, and role-play items based on Sony’s Ghostbusters franchise. Toy Industry E-Commerce Sales Spike 16% in China
The toy industry is booming in China, particularly on the digital front. E-commerce sales in the first quarter of 2021 spiked 16% to $1.2 billion, according to The NPD Group. The increase was due in large part to the Feb. 12 Chinese New Year celebration, with sales in January growing 34%. The market was dominated by Chinese manufacturers, with just four of the top 10 toymakers representing international companies. Read more…
