County Coordinators
Our region is very fortunate to have great organizations apply to be county coordinators. We are thankful to everyone who participated in the process. We have asked the organizations that will be acting as county coordinators to tell us a little bit about the work they do for all of us to get familiar with them.

Merced County
Valley Onward
Our organization is a nonprofit, dedicated to harnessing and cultivating new leaders in California's Central Valley, as well as organizing around issues that impact women and disinvested communities across rural areas in the county. Valley Onward was born out of the highly successful Building Healthy Communities Initiative (BHC). BHC was a 10-year, $1 billion comprehensive community initiative launched by The California Endowment in 2010 to advance statewide policy, change the narrative, and transform 14 of California’s communities most devastated by health inequities into places where all people have an opportunity to thrive.
North Valley Labor Federation
The North Valley Labor Federation is a partnership between labor unions in San Joaquin, Calaveras, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Merced, and Mariposa Counties. We build power for working families by developing partnerships within the Labor Movement and with our community allies.
San Joaquin County
San Joaquin Community Foundation (SJCF) has been investing in San Joaquin County since 2011 to create a community where we all can truly thrive. We focus on empowering the community through dedicated initiatives, fund management, nonprofit capacity building, convening community stakeholders, and creating bridges between those with resources and those closest to the challenges our county faces in health, education, housing, and poverty. SJCF has greatly expanded our community engagement strategy over the last few years to ensure that community are part of planning the strategic growth of our region and building wealth for families and organizations serving those most harmed by disinvestment. We are proud to be serving San Joaquin County through North Valley Thrive to strengthen community voice and power through inclusive economic development.
