The gaming industry is still marching upward
The gross gaming revenue in March 2026 was up by 8 percent over March 2025 to $7.1 billion. The college basketball tournament was a driving factor. While the handle was down from $13.6 billion to $12.6 billion, the win was up significantly from $851.7 million to $1.1 billion, a 9.4 percent hold, versus 6.4% last year. Igaming continues to grow like the weed that it is, jumping 16 percent to $970.6 million. Combined igaming and sports represented 30 percent of total gaming revenue for the month. Besides the sports win and igaming growth, Illinois, Kentucky, New Hampshire, and Virginia added casinos and VLTs. Without those factors, the GGR in most states is either flat or down slightly from last year.

The results by jurisdiction
Arkansas had a total of $62.7 million in GGR in March 2026 as compared to $64.4 million in 2025. From the three reporting casinos, revenue was $52.3 million as compared to $62.7 million in 2025. Sports GGR was $10.4 million in 2026 and $1.7 million in 2025. Sports handle for the month was $86.6 million, up from $65.5 million a year ago.
Colorado casino and sports revenue in March was $149.3 million as compared to $138.8 million in 2025. The casino win for March was $98.4 million versus $100.6 million in 2025; slot GGR was $84.4 million compared to $85.6 million. Black Hawk reported $75.4 million, Cripple Creek $16.5 million, and Central City $6.3 million as compared to Black Hawk $77.2 million, Cripple Creek $16.0 million, and Central City $7.3 million in 2025. The March 2026 sports win was $51.0 million on a handle of $509.1 million versus $36.2 million in GGR and $618.0 million in handle in 2025.
Connecticut total gaming revenue for March was $157.2 million as compared to $143.3 million in 2025. Slot revenue was $75.4 million as compared to $77.6 million in 2025. Igaming revenue was $59.7 million and $48.9 million in 2025. Sports betting generated $20.6 million on a handle of $209.6 million as compared to GGR of $16.8 million and handle of $207.8 million in March 2025.
Illinois combined casino and VLT revenue in March was $485.8 million as compared to $458.5 million in 2025. The state’s 17 casinos reported $183.1 million in win as compared to 16 casinos reporting $170.9 million win in 2025. Slot revenue in March 2026 was $140.7 million as compared to $132.0 million. Table games generated $42.4 million versus $36.8 million in 2025. In March 2026, 1,366,807 people were admitted to the casinos compared to 1,391,256 in 2025. The VLT win was $302.7 million compared to $287.6 million in 2025. In March 2026, there were 49,340 units versus 48,875 in 2025.
Indiana sports and casino combined revenue was $260.9 million in March 2026 as compared to $262.4 million in 2025. The state’s casinos generated $212.9 million in win as compared to $227.5 million in 2025. The slot win was $180.8 million as compared to $184.7 million in 2025. Table win was $32.1 million as compared to $38.1 million in 2025. Sports win was $48.0 million on a handle of $506.9 million. In March 2026, the Shreveport/Bossier market reported $54.7 million in win versus $57.7 million in 2025; Lake Charles had $62.7 million as compared to $66.3 million. The New Orleans region had $27.4 million in win versus $29.1 million and Baton Rouge had $28.0 million versus $27.7 million in 2025. The GGR from sports betting was $42.7 million on a handle of $372.5 million as compared GGR of $31.7 million and handle of $386.4 million in 2025.
Maryland combined casino and sports revenue was $229.9 million as compared to $219.8 million in March 2025. Casino GGR was $168.0 versus $172.0 million in 2025. Slot revenue was $117.5 million, table games generated $46.6 million, and sports GGR was $61.9 million on a handle of $595.2 million compared to slot revenue of $121.8 million, table games $50.2 million, and sports GGR was $47.8 million on a handle of $588.5 million in 2025.
For March 2026, MGM National Harbor generated $72.1 million, $44.1 million from slots and $25.9 million from table games; in 2025, MGM generated $70.3 million in total GGR. Live! Casino GGR was $60.0 million, $44.1 million from slots and $14.3 million from tables; in 2025, the total win was $63.8 million. Horseshoe Baltimore had $16.1 million in win, a slot win of $11.5 million, and tables $4.4 million. In 2025, the total win was $17.2 million. Hollywood had $7.5 million, $6.4 million from slots. Ocean Downs generated $7.7 million, $7.1 million from slots, and Rocky Gap had a win of $4.4 million.
Massachusetts gaming revenue in March was $168.1million compared to $157.3 million in 2025; casino revenue was $91.9 million versus $105.1 million in 2025. Sports generated $76.1 million on a handle of $619.9 million as compared to $54.2 million on $775.0 million in handle in March 2025. Encore Boston Harbor generated $56.2 million, slot revenue was $33.8 million, and table games $22.4 million. GGR was $63.0 million in 2025. MGM had a gaming win of $22.3 million versus $25.5 million in 2025 MGM table game win was $4.1 million; slots contributed $18.2 million. Slots only at Plainridge Park had revenue of $13.3 million as compared to $16.5 million in March 2025.
Michigan revenue from casinos, sports, and igaming in March 2026 was $483.5 million as compared to $410.6 million in 2025. Casino revenue was $111.5 million compared to $116.7 million. Igaming revenue was $322.0 million compared to $260.5 million in 2025. Sports wagering revenue for March 2026 was $50.0 million compared to $33.5 million in 2025. The handle was $485.1 million versus $487.1 million in 2025.
Missouri casino and sports generated $195.8 million in gaming revenue in March as compared to casino-only revenue of $177.9 million in 2025. The slot win was $153.1 million and table games $21.9 million. Admissions were 2,436,906 as compared to 2,499,297 in 2025. By market, the win in March 2026 in the Kansas City region was $58.4 million, down 7.1 percent from 2025, St. Louis $88.4 million, down 0.3 percent. The Out of State market reported $28.0 million in win as compared to $27.4 million in 2025.
Mississippi casino and sports betting revenue in March was $217.7 million as compared to $228.1 million in 2025. Casino revenue was $214.2 million, down from $226.7 million in 2025. Sports win was $3.5 million on a handle of $25.7 million as compared to GGR of $1.9 million and $34.4 million in handle. Slot coin-in was $2.304 billion with a win of $189.0 million, a 7.8 percent win, as compared to coin-in of $2.414 billion with a win of $180.0 million, a 7.8 percent win, in 2025. In 2026, table drop was $156.0 million with a win of $27.1 million, a hold of 17.3 percent, compared to a table drop of $161.2 million and a win of $32.2 million and 20 percentage hold in 2025.

Casino revenue for March 2026 was $236.7 million versus $230.9 million in 2025. The casino slot win was $171.0 million, down 1.0 percent, and table win $64.8 million, up 13.3 percent. The igaming win was $272.1 million as compared to $243.9 million in 2025. Sports win was $87.6 million as compared to $71.3 million. The 2026 handle was $979.9 million versus $1.107 billion in 2025.
Borgata had a casino win of $67.2 million versus $58.3 million in 2025. Ocean City reported $35.4 million in 2026 and $434.6 million in 2025. Resorts had $11.5 million versus $13.0 million. Golden Nugget’s casino win was $10.2 million versus $11.7 million. Hard Rock won $42.6 million versus $44.4 million in 2025. Caesars had $19.5 million versus $16.8 million. Tropicana posted $18.6 million, Harrah’s $20.5 million, and Bally’s $10.9 million as compared to $11.0 million in 2025.
New York gaming revenue from sports, VLT, and casinos was $502.4 million in March as compared to $446.6 million in 2025. The 2025 VLT revenue was $223.2 million as compared to $223.6 million in 2025. Resorts World reported $59.2 million in gaming revenue, Nassau OTB $24.8 million, Empire City at Yonkers $56.4 million, Saratoga Casino $13.3 million, Finger Lakes Gaming $11.8 million, Hamburg Gaming $7.7 million, Vernon Downs $3.3 million, Batavia Downs $9.1 million, Jake’s 58 $27.7 million, and Resorts World Hudson Valley $9.4 million.
New York’s four casinos reported a win of $62.0 million as compared to $60.9 million in 2025. Resorts World had a win of $15.0 million, Tioga Downs $10.6 million, del Lago Resort $15.8 million, and Rivers Casino $20.2 million. The sports win was $217.2 million and handle was $2.328 billion. In March 2025, the GGR was $162.1 million and the handle $2.445 billion.
Nevada casinos reported $1.426 billion in March 2026 as compared to $1.276 billion in 2025, up 11.8 percent. In March, the Las Vegas Strip reported $779.9 million in gaming revenue as compared to $681.6 million in 2025. Las Vegas had an estimated 3.4 million visitors in March as compared to 3.3 million in 2025. Harry Reid International Airport reported 4.6 million passengers in 2026 as compared to 4.8 million in 2025. There were 712,000 conventioneers compared to 533,900 in 2025. Hotel occupancy was 84.8 percent as compared to 82.9 percent in 2025 and the average daily room rate was $206.72 versus $183.86. Las Vegas had 3,947,300 occupied room nights as compared to 3,875,900.
For March 2026, downtown Vegas had casino revenue of $103.4 million, the Boulder Strip $98.8 million, North Las Vegas $26.5 million, and Laughlin $50.4 million. Reno reported $62.0 million in GGR as compared to $57.8 million in 2025. Sparks casinos won $16.1 million versus $14.9 million in 2025. The North Lake Tahoe win was $1.4 million and South Lake Tahoe $17.6 million as compared to $14.7 million in 2025. Elko County won $35.3 million, Carson Valley reported $12.1 million, and “other” reported $20.4 million versus $19.3 million in 2025.
By game type, the March win in Nevada was: twenty-one $107.6 million, baccarat $154.1 million, craps $36.5 million, and roulette $35.7 million. Slot machine win was $969.78 million as compared to $918.85 million in 2025. In 2025, sportsbooks won $46.0 million on a handle of $763.0 million as compared to $22.3 million in win and handle of $859.5 million in March 2025.

Ohio casinos, racinos, and sports generated $316.9 million in GGR in March 2026 as compared to $293.8 million in 2025. The sports GGR was $87.9 million with a handle of $960.4 million versus GGR of $66.4 million and the handle $991.9 million. Casino revenue in March was $94.9 million compared with $94.4 million in 2025. The slot win was $69.6 million and table games had $25.3 million. By property, the results for the four casinos were: Jack Cleveland $23.5 million, Hollywood Columbus $27.1 million, Hard Rock Cincinnati $21.9 million, and Hollywood Toledo $22.3 million.
Ohio racino revenue was $134.1 million versus $133.0 million in 2025. By category, the win from retail slots was $216.1 million, retail table games $78.78 million, online slots $201.3 million, online tables $51.1 million, sports $47.8 million in taxable revenue and total sports GGR $64.9 million; handle was $700.6 million. Online poker GGR was $2.2 million, retail VLT $3.8 million, and fantasy sports $1.0 million.
By property, including retail and online gaming, the total revenue was Hollywood at Penn $116.2 million; Parx $57.8 million; Valley Forge $98.8 million; Wind Creek $45.8 million; Rivers Philadelphia $60.0 million; Rivers Pittsburgh $31.8 million; Hollywood at the Meadows $30.2 million; Mount Airy $18.4 million; Mohegan Sun $19.8 million; Live! Philadelphia $25.5 million; Harrah’s $28.2 million; Presque Isle $15.3 million; Live! South Dakota casino, VLT, and sports revenue was $43.6 million in March as compared to $43.8 million in 2025. Casino revenue was $13.2 million as compared to $13.5 million. VLT won $30.4 million and $30.3 million in 2025. In March, South Dakota sports betting recorded $155,779 in win and $1,629,620 in handle.
Virgina reported GGR of $209.9 million from historic racing machines, casinos, and sports wagering. In 2025, the GGR was $180.8 million. The 4,822 historic racing machines generated $48.5 million as compared to 4,407 units producing $50.7 million in 2025. In March 2026, five casinos generated $100.0 million in GGR; in 2025 three casinos had $85.1 million in revenue. Sportsbooks recorded $60.1 million in win from a handle of $672.8 million; in 2025 the win was $45.0 million and handle $689.6 million.
Igaming revenue from seven states in March 2026 totaled $970.6 million. Michigan reported $322.1 million, New Jersey $272.1 million, Pennsylvania $254.7 million, Connecticut $59.7 million, West Virginia $42.0 million, Delaware $13.5 million, and Rhode Island $6.5 million. In March 2025, the total GGR was $835.5 million. Michigan reported $260.5 million, New Jersey $243.9 million, Pennsylvania $238.2 million, Connecticut $48.9 million, West Virginia $30.1 million, Delaware $8.8 million, and Rhode Island $5.1 million.
The sports betting handle for March 2026 was $12.645 billion, with a win of $1.194 billion (9.4%). The total GGR for the first quarter of 2026 was $20.1 billion; in 2025, it was $19.0 billion and in 2024, the GGR was $17.9 billion. The sports win was $4.0 billion on a handle of $40.7 billion, while in 2025, the GGR was $3.4 billion and $40.7 billion. In 2024, the handle was $36.9 billion and the win $3.2 billion. Sports betting has leveled off. The difference now is the hold and that will vary. Igaming increased from $2.3 billion to $2.7 billion. For the first quarter of 2026, igaming and sports represent 33 percent of GGR; it was 30 percent in 2025 and 28 percent in 2024.
