November FIS Fall Release upgrade

The Berkeley Financial System (BFS) team is updating the BFS system in order to stay up-to-date with security recommendations and best practices. The upgrade will take place from Saturday, November 2, 2024, 6 a.m. to Sunday, November 3, 2024, 9 p.m. The update is to keep our software current with Oracle PeopleSoft releases, improve security, and ensure that Oracle continues to support BFS. 

Updates

Chartfield Order Correction: The chartfield display order will be fixed with the CF1/CF2 values displayed before PC chartfield values. This applies to a majority of pages that list chartfields in BFS, including Journals and Vouchers.

GRLN Enabled: BFS is aligning with the campus-wide initiative to implement the Gender Recognition and Lived Names (GRLN) Policy. Lived names will be displayed in all remaining BFS systems, with one exception: the BFS Card Program will revert to displaying legal names, as credit cards require legal names for processing.
