011. ...they fell in love and saved the world: a neville/luna fanmix

Whee! Back! Finally!

When It got to be July, and I realized that OMG--Harry Potter was coming out, I had to make a mix for my two favorite characters and OTP. They're just so bumbly cute, I couldn't help myself. They make me smile everytime I see them on screen and on the page.

It's somewhat chronical, going from their beginnings at Hogwarts, to long after they've gotten together. There's speculation as to what happened between Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows, as well as a few implied spoilers for Deathly Hallows. Nothing explicit, though. If you haven't finished the book, it's not going to kill you to look at this mix.

As for the music, some of these songs as...wacky-ish. The kind of stuff Luna would love right off the bat, and that Neville would take a little time getting used to. There's a nice mix of upbeat and slower songs, and 90% are not angsty! Yay for happiness! I've left comments on a few of the songs, just beause I can.

Once again, there are NO explicit spoilers, but there are SOME implied spoilers. Use your judgement^^

This is probably the most fitting song I've ever heard about Neville, or Luna.
It addresses all of their insecurities (not to mention that it's just a fantastic song, too!).

I see this as something that Luna would say to Neville.
You've got to get through the pain to get to the happiness.

In my head, this is Luna telling Neville that Bellatrix isn't worth the fight.
They both know he's better than her.

They make the jump from best friends to more than that.

This is one of Luna's favorite songs in my mind. She'd love the instrumentation in this piece,
and would play it all the time for Neville. He'd grugingly start to like it.

Ha ha ha ha ha. This song would totally earn Neville a slap.

Another song Luna would adore. It's very "magical" sounding.

Collective "aw," everyone? This is just the cheeriest song I've ever heard,
and has a stanza for each character. This one is Neville's.

This entire song fits Luna to a 'T.' She's just appreciative that
Neville loves her for who she is.

When I was working on my last batch of wallpapers, I found a giant cd of photos I took on the last fourth of July. Some of them were pretty neat, so I cleaned them up a little and made them into a workable size. Hopefully a few of you will find them useful.

They're all 1280x960 so they can be used on widescreen and fullscreen wallpapers, banners, and even on icons. Cut and edit them as you wish!

My computer charger has been on the fritz for a couple of days, and it popped yesterday, smoked a little bit, and then died. So, I'm out of my laptop (with the photoshop) until I get a new one. Hopefully I can just go to the store on Monday and buy a new one, but otherwise I'll have to order, and that's going to take a week or two.

Silly Apple. I love everything about their computers except the design for the charger. The wires break so easily. I've gone through three chargers now, and I've only had my computer for a year and a half.

I've got a little confession to make. I'm entirely smitten with Barney on How I Met Your Mother. He's such an ass, he probably has a dozen different diseases, and while he cares about little more than money and sex, he deeply cares for his friends. He's fastidiously loyal, and every once in a while he does something really sweet.

Not to mention that he wears a suit. Girls love guys in suits. True story.

So, in honor of the fantastic season (hopefully!) finale, I bring about another fanmix depicting why I actually like this guy.

As Barney would hate indie music (despite them encouraging competition between bands and enhancing the economy), this one is a little (little!) more mainstream, and it's about half the length of my Doctor/Rose mix. Surprise, surprise, it's difficult to find songs about meaningless sex, commitment phobias, being awesome, gambling addictions and not knowing who your dad is.

Oh! This mix is a lot more upbeat than the first, so I'd say...it's a good afternoon mix. Something to listen to when you need to get pumped up for doing homework : )

So no icons or wallpapers this weekend. Sorry. I got a cold, and then found an abandoned dog (! I know! Sad!), so I've been busy. Hopefully sometime this week I'll be able to post everything I've been working on. It's going to be a big post.

What I do have is a giant Doctor/Rose fanmix I've been working on for months. It's indie-folk-rock-pop music for the most part, and the majority of songs I haven't seen on other mixes. Kind of goes through the moods after Doomsday, but it's a really nice mix to listen to in the morning. It's also pretty subtle, not all the songs would immediately make you think "Doctor! Rose!" but after listening to them, you just get it.

And....it's really long, so there's that. Give it a try, and I think you'll like it. Let me know what you think about it!

Hello!

This is the graphics journal of GoodToast.

She makes things in photoshop and never shares, so this is a new thing for her.

Occasionally, she might squee about some fandom she loves, because her RL friends *gack* when she does that.

She's really into making large graphics at the moment, so expect more wallpapers than icons. For some strange reason she thinks it's easier to larger graphics. She's odd.

Feel free to friend either journal, because she loves new friends.

Nominations are welcome, and it would surprise her.
