I have to uninstall DIALux and install it again to solve this.</p><p>The method used for installation is the same I'm using since DIALux 7:</p><p>DIALux_evo_14_0.exe /S:&lt;settingsfile.ini&gt; /W</p><p>The settingsfile.ini contains this:</p><p>[SetupValues]</p><p>%AppFolder%=C:\Program Files\DIAL GmbH\DIALux evo</p><p>%AppShortcutFolderName%=DIALux evo</p><p>%NoRestart%=1</p><p>%DontEnforceRequirements%=1</p><p>%LogFolder%=%temp%</p><p>Installing DIALux in this way never showed problems.</p><p>I see this on two different devices now.             <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dear Dialux Support team,</p><p>I am observing a behavior in DIALux evo that I would like to clarify.</p><p><strong>Context</strong></p><ul><li><p>generic luminaire  with IES/LDT and 3D model</p></li><li><p>Known offset between geometry origin (mounting point/base) and photometric center (light center)</p></li><li><p>Working plane height: 0.80 m</p></li></ul><p><strong>Observed behavior</strong></p><ol><li><p>With the working plane <strong>disabled</strong>:</p><ul><li><p>“Height of luminous center” = absolute value (e.g., 2.50 m)</p></li><li><p>“Mounting height” ≈ 2.585 m (includes luminaire thickness/offset)</p></li></ul></li><li><p>When I <strong>enable</strong> the working plane (0.80 m):</p><ul><li><p>“Height of luminous center” changes to 1.70 m (= 2.50 − 0.80)</p></li><li><p>The luminaire geometry does <strong>not</strong> move</p></li><li><p>“Mounting height” remains unchanged</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Additional observation</strong><br>This behavior does <strong>not occur when using calculation surfaces (working surfaces)</strong> instead of the working plane:</p><ul><li><p>In that case, the “height of luminous center” appears to remain <strong>consistent (absolute)</strong></p></li><li><p>There is no apparent shift in reference or recalculation relative to the surface</p></li></ul></li></ol><p><strong>Interpretation (to be confirmed)</strong><br>It seems that:</p><ul><li><p>“Height of luminous center” is <strong>not a primary positioning parameter</strong>, but a <strong>derived value</strong></p></li><li><p>When a working plane is active, it is expressed <strong>relative to the working plane</strong>, not as an absolute Z-coordinate</p></li><li><p>The actual placement is driven by the <strong>geometric origin/mounting point</strong>, with the photometric center applied as an internal offset</p></li><li><p>The reference behavior differs between <strong>working planes</strong> and <strong>working/calculation surfaces</strong></p></li></ul><p><strong>Questions</strong></p><ol><li><p>Is this difference between working plane and working surfaces <strong>intended</strong>?</p></li><li><p>Can the “height of luminous center” be used as an <strong>absolute constraint</strong> for positioning (independent of working plane)?</p></li><li><p>Is there a way to lock positioning to the <strong>photometric center</strong> instead of the luminaire’s geometric origin?</p></li><li><p>What is the recommended workflow if the requirement is:<br>→ “Place the photometric center at a fixed absolute height (e.g., 2.50 m above finished floor)”?</p></li></ol><p><strong>Goal</strong><br>Avoid ambiguity when switching between working plane and working surfaces, and ensure consistent positioning based on the photometric reference.</p><p>Thank you in advance for any clarification.</p>]]></content:encoded>

            <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ich möchte einen kleinen Tipp aus meiner Praxis teilen – vielleicht kennt ihr das Problem ja auch 🙂</p><p>Wenn man ein Projekt (egal ob das eigene oder von anderen) betrachtet und die Ansicht auf die „Raumstruktur“ umstellt, werden die Wände ausgeblendet. Beim Drehen der Perspektive passiert es dann aber häufig, dass wandnahe Möbel den Blick stark versperren – zum Beispiel Kleiderschränke, die schnell einen großen Teil der Sicht blockieren. Das ist auf Dauer ziemlich unpraktisch.</p><figure data-align="center" data-size="best-fit" data-id="KhXa8RKj2WFqg4oMaaFRZ" data-version="v2" data-type="image"><img data-id="KhXa8RKj2WFqg4oMaaFRZ" src="https://tribe-s3-production.imgix.net/KhXa8RKj2WFqg4oMaaFRZ?auto=compress,format"></figure><figure data-align="center" data-size="best-fit" data-id="3MtI4DYT3Hu9owmd4aiOB" data-version="v2" data-type="image"><img data-id="3MtI4DYT3Hu9owmd4aiOB" src="https://tribe-s3-production.imgix.net/3MtI4DYT3Hu9owmd4aiOB?auto=compress,format"></figure><p></p><p>Meine Lösung dafür:</p><p>Im Bereich „Materialien“ ein neues Farbmaterial anlegen, als Materialtyp „transparent“ auswählen und die „Transmission“ auf 99 % einstellen.</p><p>Ein kleiner Hinweis: Nicht auf 100 % gehen, da das Objekt sonst komplett unsichtbar wird. Bei 99 % bleibt eine leichte Kontur erhalten, sodass man noch erkennen kann, dass sich dort ein Objekt befindet.</p><p>Anschließend weist man dieses Material einfach der Rückseite des Schranks (also der Wandseite) zu.</p><p>Dadurch wird die Sicht beim Drehen deutlich weniger blockiert, gleichzeitig bleibt die Orientierung im Raum erhalten.
