The charming Harriet Welty Rochefort presents her longtime relationship to France (she's been married to a Frenchman for several decades) with humor and intimacy. She has written several books, which I highly recommend, including her World War II novel, Final Transgression. Her Substack letters are a delight!
I have long recommended Janet's Substack, but I did not say why! I heard an interview with Janet in 2020! I eagerly read The Paris Library, about the American Library in Paris! A bonus: it is one of the most attractively designed books I have seen. This well-crafted novel blends a contemporary story with that of the librarians during WWII. Be sure to enjoy Miss Morgan's Book Brigade and the Parisian Chapter-and visit the American Library in Paris! Her letters from Paris are delightful as well!
