  • Produce a grayscale version of the specified PPM image:
    ppmdist path/to/input.ppm > path/to/output.pgm
  • Specify the method used to map colors to graylevels:
    ppmdist -frequency|intensity path/to/input.ppm > path/to/output.pgm
