With all due respect, the term “assault” weapon was created by the left to make it seem (oooooh) ‘double-scary.’
The left needs to check the firing pins. (Never mind, they wouldn’t know what that was.)
An AR-15 is a semi-auto. An M-16 is a full auto.
But since a 15 sort of ‘looks’ like a 16, the left calls it an ‘assault’ weapon.
I can ‘assault’ anyone with whatever weapon I presently have. My Stoner in Vietnam was an ‘assault’ weapon, but then again, so was my Colt 1911, my K-Bar, my fists, my feet. Hell, I would’ve used my P-38 to ‘assault’ the VC/NVA. I would’ve used a #2 pencil (if I had had one).

If I kick someone in the face with my steel-toed boots, THEY can be called “assault weapons.” If I have a dog that is trained to protect my premises, IT can be called an “assault weapon.” The entire labeling of firearms by these people is irrelevant to the debate, because they NEVER define their terms.
