Tracy Ifeachor and Noah Wyle had fans wondering if Dr. Collins (Ifeachor) and Dr. Robby (Wyle) had something going on in the hit HBO Max series The Pitt. But when Season 1 of the show came to an end, we still weren't quite sure where the two stood with each other. But now, Ifeachor has given fans a little insight into their dynamic together. During an interview with PEOPLE, she clarified some things about how Collins feels about Robby and what we can expect to see out of their relationship when the show returns for Season 2.
When asked if she wants to see the two get together, she said, "I am a hopeful, romantic. I've always been a hopeful romantic. I'm the person who's always matching up all my friends... Me, Tracy, would always say 'yes' to every romantic situation anywhere." But their dynamic is a little complicated. Collins started the season pregnant, and many fans thought it was going to be revealed to be Robby's baby. But later in the season, Collins says that she did IVF, and the pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. While there were certainly references to a previous relationship between the two, the nature of the series means we've only gotten a taste of their dynamic, and according to Ifeachor, she's still hopeful that we could see more between them.
"I don't believe anything is ever wasted. It's only wasted if you don't learn anything," she told the outlet. "It would be lovely to see [Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby] come to some kind of resolution. I think they finally do in the ambulance scene because they end up having an actual conversation." Ifeachor went on to talk about a scene where Robby says that he never saw her give up on anything, except for him. "[Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby] get each other," she said. "They really understand each other and work well together. They just have very different ways of seeing things and doing things, and I love that." But she also understands that Collins "is the only one who can really tell [Dr. Robby] about himself."
Tracy Ifeachor Knows Why Fans Love Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby
Fans were drawn to the two characters, partly because of the fact that we don't really know the finer details of their romantic past. When asked about the connection the two characters have together, Ifeachor said:
"I think it's the missing of each other. It's like when two people should just be able to get it together and be together, but for some reason, they just keep missing each other. The ambulance scene is probably the first time they've had a really honest conversation with each other about everything in the past."
You can see Collins and Robby on Season 1 of The Pitt.
