I cleared OCP 819 exam on Saturday with a score of 78%.
I have been a junior web developer for a year and a half and prior to that I was an accountant for almost 7 years. I've attended a few Java courses last year and in the last 4 months I have been studying from Scott Selikoff and Jeanne Boyarsky's books, their updates related to the exam and I have been in constant touch with this awesome source of information and inspiration that CodeRanch is.
A few mentions about the exam:
-I chose to attend the exam from home and it went smoothly;
-The questions were as diverse as you can find: from specific NIO.2 (how to initialize FileChannel), pass-by-value, operators precedence to extra-obvious final class inheritance (two big classes, the second extended the first that was in fact final);
-Some question were tough, complex and time consuming and I could have used some paper(there is a whiteboard available but I did not open it because I thought it would make me waste time);
-I have finished all questions with 50 sec remaining and I did not dare to get back to the questions I have marked because you have to click 2 different buttons in order for your exam to finish and be scored and I did not want to risk an invalid exam;
I do not think I would have passed the exam without the EnthuWare question bank. My average score on the enthuware mock exams were just 61% (getting 55% and also 75% depending on the questions I guess) but I managed to score 78% in the actual exam.
Many thanks again for all the support I have found here and good luck!
