I would like to install
sponsor blockandenhanced-h264ifyin my newly createdyoutube profilebut this possibility seems to be blocked. I could not locatephoenix-specialized.cfgon my device, so if it is hosted, could some blocks be removed to permit extensions? Or, if I can enable it myself inabout:config(or inphoenix-specialized.cfgassuming I can find it), could you provide the configs that need to be tended to?EDIT: A work-around: on the extension install page, right-click the button
Add to Firefoxand selectopen link in new tab. The first time enables installation of extensions. Go back to the origin page and repeat, and the installation proceeds. While that works, the usual way of doing this is much more straight-forward.
Hey @GW72, thanks for the report!
I can confirm this is not intended behavior.
From
about:config, can you please try settingnetwork.protocol-handler.expose.httpstotrue, and confirm if that resolves the issue? If it does, will fix for next release.Assuming that you’re on Linux, it should be located at
/etc/firefox/phoenix/phoenix-specialized.cfg.I can conform that solution fixes the problem. A couple more things though would be nice to check on.
phoenix-specialized.cfgin/etc/firefox/phoenix/specs/, not/etc/firefox/phoenix/. Does that matter?youtube profile, while not a huge priority, I would like to re-arrange the ordering of the toolbar icons and also have the toolbar icons I have pinned to remain pinned after a restart. Neither is possible. A cosmetic thing that does not affect function that I am aware of, but that behaviour is not as could be expected.@GW72 wrote in #295 (comment):
Great to hear, thanks for confirming!
Nope,
/etc/firefox/phoenix/specs/phoenix-specialized.cfgis indeed the correct path - my reply above included a typo, my bad. Thanks for the report! I actually see the problem and will have it fixed for next release.
In case you’re wondering, this line specifically needs to be removed - should’ve removed it a while ago but forgot.
I'd forgotten to mention that something isn't working correctly still in the
youtube configprofile. Please see the attached screen-shot. Aside from the boxes being repeated, add-on/extension icons that are pinned to the toolbar do not appear after right-clicking the toolbar and selectingCustomize toolbar.
